The Allegany High School Cheerleader's Competition team became National Champions after the recent U.S. Finals in Virginia Beach, VA. The team recieved a first place trophy and champion's banner and each girl received a gold medal and a white champion's jacket.
The competition at Virginia Beach covered the East Coast. The Allegany team entered the varsity Cheer Division already ranked seventh in the nation from a previous competition, where it received a first place bid to the finals.
The national rankings from all seven regions of the United States that hold finals competitions were recently poted on the U.S. finals website and the chimpion's scores in every division were compared against one another for an overall champion title.
The Alleany Cheerleaders ranked first overall against the seven other teams in their division and will receive another banner that display Overall 2012 U.S. Champion.
The Big Blue Review would like to speak for the entire Cumberland and Allegany high school community in giving coach Daphani Jenkins and the entire Allegany Cheerleading squad a big and sincere congratulations in bringing home not just another title, but a NATIONAL TITLE to hang in the state renowned gymnasium to tells everyone who enters; ALLEGANY HIGH SCHOOL - HOME OF CHAMPIONS!
