Tuesday, December 29
Lady Breakers Tie Vermont Stars 2-2

The Lady Breakers skated to a 2-2 tie against the Vermont Stars at the Kingsford Rink to wrap up the Polar Bear Tournament in the U17  AA division.  The Breakers finished with a 2-1-1 record and gaining 13 total team points which were second in our division and close to a wildcard spot.  This is the highest we have ever finished at this tournament and it was due to all the hard work from each player.  We out shot Vermont 27-17.  Sara led of the scoring in the second with an assist from Abbie.  Jordan then scored in the third with the assists from Abbie and Francie.  The Vermont Stars tied the game deep in the third while pulling their goalie to score with 1:20 left in the game.  The Breakers rebounding with three missed oppertunities with seconds left leaving us with the tie.  Saundrine stopped 11 shots allowing 1 goal and Rachel stopped 4 shots allowing 1 goal.

Monday, December 28
Lady Breakers defeat Princeton Tiger Lillies 2-0

The Breakers won their second game of the day defeating the Princeton Tiger Lillies 2-0 at Trinity College putting their record at two wins and one loss.  The girls skated another great game early this evening despite some fatigue.  Sara lead of the scoring with an assist from Sophia in the first period.  Sara then scored in the second with an assist from Grace.   It was scoreless in the third securing the victory 2-0.  Shots on goal were Biddeford 31 and Princeton 18.  Saundrine and Rachel again combined for the victory with 12 shots on Saundrine and 6 shots on Rachel.  Another great team win.  We play Vermont Selects on Tuesday to wrap up initial rounds.

Monday, December 28
Lady Breakers 4 bay State Breakers 0

Biddeford Lady Breakers skated to a 4-0 victory today at Trinity College in Ct.  The ladies played three strong periods comming away with points in each period.  Alyssa led the scoring with an assist by Shannon in the first.  Amber rounded out the scoring in the first with the assist from Jackie and Sara.  Sara scored in the second from a shot from the point from Abby.  Grace scored in the third from Sara.  Shots on goal were Lady  Breakers 20 and Bay State 9.  Saundrine and Rachel combined for the shut out victory.  Great game lets keep
it up.

Biddeford Lady Breakers 1 Mid fairfield CT Stars 3

The Lady Breakers sufferred a tough loss to the Mid Fairfield CT Stars 3-1 today to start off the Ct Polar Bear Tournament at the Loomis-Chaffee rink.  Both teams remained scoreless with all the scoring comming in the third period.  Ct led off the scoring in the third then the Breakers rebounded with an unassisted goal by Abby with a hard shot from the point.   Shots on goal were Ct 34 Breakers 14.  Saundrine stopping all 14 shots she faced while Rachel had 20 shots allowing three goals.  The girls played some strong hockey skating hard for all three periods.  Great first effort against a tough Mid Fairfield team.

Sunday, December 20
Lady Breakers Defeat Seacoast Lightning 4-2

The Lady Breakers skated to a 4-2 victory over Seacoast Lightning at the Biddeford Ice Arena.  This was one of our better overall team passing games we have had in a while.  We tried some new combinations today with Marina teaming up with Ariel and Jordan while Becca went and played defense.  We out shot Seacoast 21-12 in today's contest.  Defensively we played strong with some better break outs.  Sophia lead the scoring in the first with an assist from Sara.  Francie scored in the second with the assist from Jordan.  Jackie scored in the third with a second assist from Sara while Marina rounded out the scoring with an empty net clearing shot.  Strong goaltending from Saundrine kept us alive as well.  Overall good team performance.

Lady Breakers Defeat Assabet U19 White 3-2

The lady Breakers defeated the Asabet U19 white team today at Valley Sports in Concord, Ma with a score of 3-2.  Saundrine and Rachel combined for the win in net with Saundrine stopping 12 shots and allowing 1 goal and Rachel stopping 13 shots and also allowing 1 goal.  We were out shot 27-21 in this contest.  This was not our best team game as we couldn't seem to get out of our own way at times as well as maintain focus but a win none the less.  Sara opened the scoring with an assist from Grace, Grace then scored with an assist from Olivia, and Jordan scored with the assist from Abbi to make it 3-2.  We definately need to start playing a more aggressive style in order to compete at the upper level in Ct.

Lady Breakers 2 Middlesex 2

The Lady Breakers skated to a 2-2 tie against the Middlesex Islanders at the Biddeford Ice Arena today.  Shots on Goal were 24 for the Breakers and 8 for Middlesex.  Good up and down action throughout with difficulties on our part getting the puck in the net.  We are cycling well behind the offensive net with some great scoring opportunities.  Sara led of the scoring with assists by Jackie and Kellie.  Grace had the second goal with a great one timer with the assist from Sara.

Lady Breakers 2 Maine Freeze 2

The Lady Breakers tied their second game of the day today against the Maine Freeze 2-2 at the Biddeford Ice Arena.  Shots on goal were 20-13 in favor of the Breakers.  We missed some key scoring oppertunities but could not capitilize.  Great up and down action throughout the contest.  The Breakers scored both their goals in the first period.  Abbi scoring from the point with the assist from Alyssa.  Sophia then also scored from the point with the assist from Sara.  Overall a good day of hockey as the weather held out just fine.

Sunday, November 22
The Lady Breakers Defeated The Bay State Breakers 3-0

The Lady Breakers skated a great second game today defeating the Bay State Breakers 3-0 at the Biddeford Ice Arena to close out the double header.  Francie stepped up and played the whole game as a forward for this game and played extremely well.  She may have found a new calling.  Sara started the scoring with assists from Grace and Jackie.  Ariel then scored from Amber and Becca.  The third goal was an empty netter from Shannon with assists from Olivia and Francie.  We actually played three full periods of hockey for this contest.  Saundrine and Rachel again combining for the shut out.  shots on goal were 17 for us and 26 for the Bay State Breakers.  Shannon winning the dirty dog award for this game securing her first milk bone.  Ladies great job with this game it was nice to see every one stepping things up against some tough competition.

Sunday, November 22
Lady Breakers 1, Maine Freeze 0

The Lady Breakers defeated the Maine Freeze 1-0 at the MHG rink in Saco for the first game of the day.  Shots on goal for Biddeford 22 and the freeze 7.  Amber notched the only goal in the first period with the assist from Francie.  Marinna and Francie stepped up to play forwarde as Jordan is out with a concussion.  Good up and down action throughout this contest.  Saundrine and Rachel combining for the victory and the shut out.

Sunday, November 15
Lady Breakers 4 and Springfield Pics 1

The Breakers skated to a 4-1 victory today at the Olympia Ice Center in West Springfield Mass.  The Breakers out shot Springfield 45-11.  Grace notching the hat trick today with a goal in each period of this contest.  Grace led off the scoring with an assist from Sara in the 1st.  Grace then scored in the 2nd with assists from Sara and Jackie.  Shannon also scored in the second from Abbi and Kellie.  Grace rounded out the scoring from Sara and Jackie.  Defensively we played strong again in the offensive zone with some nice passing between the points.  Marina played with Francie and Abbi played with Kelly due to sickness by our other two points Olivia and Sophia.  Saundrine received the victory stopping 10 of 11 shots.  Whats up big brother we are watching you MF.

Saturday, November 14
Lady Breakers Defeat Seacoast 2-1

Seacoast played a good game against us today. They had strong goaltending as we outshot them 26-23. Our first goal was a strong effort by Amber as she took the puck away from the opponent, shot, and followed her rebound to score by sliding the puck in with the goalie down. Seacoast came back to tie us as the game wound down, but the Ariel, Amber, Rebecca line answered immediately by scoring on the subsequent center ice faceoff. That line played great all day. We gave up an odd man rush at the end but were able to hold on for the win.

Sunday, November 8
Lady Breakers Win A Double Header Against the Ct Northern Lights

The Lady Breakers skated to a two game victory today at the International Skating Center in Ct against the Ct Northern Lights.  What started out as just one game turned into two as a team did not show to play the second game so the Breakers stepped up and played a double header.  Thank you parents for allowing this to happen which made the long drive worth while.  That was a lot of ice to cover in two games.  Really big sheet of ice.

Game one, the Breakers came away with a 4-2 victory and shots on goal were 28-13 in favor of the Breakers.  Abbi led off the scoring from Alyssa then Sophia scored form Jordan in the first.  Jackie scored in the second from Grace and Abbi scored again in the third from Sophia.  We were cycling the puck well to our defense inside the offensive zone.  Saundrine stopping 13 shots for the victory.

Game two, the Breakers came away with a 5-0 victory and shots on goal 57-8 in favor of the Breakers.  Great pressure all game with Sara starting the scorring off unassisted in the second.  The third period noted four goals.  Jordan from Becca, Sara from Jackie, Marina unassisted, and Alyssa from Jordan and Marina.  Olivia, Marina and Abbi stepped things up playing forward as Shannon was missing due to illness.

 



Saturday, November 7
Lady Breakers 4 Seacoast lightning 0

The Lady Breakers defeated the Seacoast Lightning 4-0 at the Biddeford Ice Arena today.  The Breakers out shot Seacoast 35-16.  First period goal by Marina with the assists by Jordan, Shannon, and Alyssa.  Two goals in the second period by Sara and Shannon and assists by olivia and Alyssa.  Grace got the fourth goal in the third period with an assist by our goalie Saundrine.  This may be her first assist as she never touches the puck, Ha! Ha!  I need to be carefull as everyone does not have a sense of humor.  "Right big brother".

Lady Breakers Bounced Back to Defeat The Wizards 3-0

The Lady Breakers came back on their second game of the day aginst the Wizards to defeat them 3-0 at the Biddeford Ice Arena.  We out shot the Wizards 29-22 with 20 of our shots comming in the third period.  All three goals were scored in the third period with Shannon starting things off with an assist by Alyssa.  Jordan then scored on a 4 on 4 situation with the assist by Jackie,  Abbi scored an empty netter unassisted to seal the deal.  Both goalies palyed well with Rachel stopping 14 shots and Saundrine stopping 8 shots to bothy secure the shut out victory.

Lady Breakers 1 Lewiston Maniacs 2

The Lady Breakers sufferred a tough defeat to the Lewiston Maniacs at the Colisee in Lewiston 1-2.  Despite out shooting Lewiston 36-10 we just couldn't seem to pull away.  Lewiston goalie played well stopping some point blank shots.  There is no excuse for the loss we should have put more pucks in the net as we out palyed them for three periods of hockey.   Sophia scored the lone goal from the point with assists by Alyssa and Jordan.

Sunday, October 25
Lady Breakers 1 Assabett U16 Red Minor 1

The Lady Breakers skated to a 1-1 tie against the Assabett U16 Red Minor team at the Biddeford Ice Arena.  Becca got the lone goal with the assist from Alyssa.  The ladies skated an aggressive game today but penalties kept piling up for the Lady Breakers giving Assabett too many oppertunities.  Saundrine came away with the tie stopping 38 shots from Assabett allowing the only goal in the second period.  Hopefully this will give the girls the confidence they need going into next weekends games.

Sunday, October 18
Lady Breakers Suffer Their Second Loss of The Day 8-0 aginst Ma. Spitfires

The Lady Breakers were defeated by the Mass Spitfires at the Biddeford Ice Arena 8-0 for the second game of the day.  The Spitfires out played the breakers for the entire second and third periods.  They beat us to almost every puck creating good scoring oppertunities.  We were out shot 38-13 with both goalies seeing a lot of rubber.  Hopefully the girls will learn from this day and capitilize next weekend while workiong hard at practice this week.

Sunday, October 18
Lady Breakers Suffer Their First Loss to Lewiston 2-1

Despite out shooting Lewiston 38-11 the Lady Breakers sufferred their first loss 2-1 at the Colisee in Lewiston.  Lewiston had the hot goaltending today holding us to just one goal despite many oppertunities.  Jordan got the lone goal unassisted. The first period was exciting with some good cycling down low in the offensive zone generating 18 shots in the first.  Defensively we played strong despite the score.  Rachel had six shots on net and stopped all six in the first half of the game,.  Saundrine came in the second half allowing two goals.

Saturday, October 17
Lady Breakers Defeat Concord 4-1

Despite a real short bench the Lady Breakers defeated Concord at the Biddeford Ice Arena 4-1.  We out shot Concord 34 to 13 with 16 shots comming in the third period.  The cycling down low in the third was fun to watch.  Defensively the girls played extremely tough with Olivia, Sophia and Abi playing strong.  The defense accounted for 19 shots on net as they were getting fed the puck from the forwards inside the offensive zone.  Abi started off the scoring in the first unassisted. Second period Ariel scored with assists from Jackie and Jordan.  Third period Sophia scored with a great low shot from Jackie.  Jackie then scored with the assist from Shannon.  Courtney stepped up and played 1.5 periods and Rachel came in to close out the game and secure the victory.

Sunday, October 11
Lady Breakers Defeated Casco Bay 5-0

The Lady Breakers skated to another victory today against Casco Bay at the Biddeford Ice Arena 5-0.  Ariel led the scoring with an assist from Jackie A.  Sara netted a hat trick today with assists by Olivia and Grace.  Alyssa also scored unassisted.  Saundrine stopped all 15 shots to get another shut out.  The team is starting to gel as a unit with some good cycling down low in offensive zone.  Defensively we are playing strong.

Sunday, October 4
Lady Breakers 3 Concord NH 1

The Lady Breakers defeated Concord NH 3-1 at the Everett Ice Arena to cap off the second game of the day.  Each pairing of defense was able to play a full period at forward for the second game as we were missing Becca and Jordan.  There appeared to be more passing back to the points inside the offensive zone this game creating some good quality shots from the point.  Grace led off the scoring in the first period unassisted. Ariel also scored in the first with a great pass from Olivia and Sophia on the points.  Olivia then scored the third goal from Kelley while both playing forwards.  Saundrine played another great game in net stopping 14 of 15 shots

Sunday, October 4
Lady Breakers 2 Seacoast Lightning 1

The Lady Breakers defeated the Seacoast Lightning today 2-1 at the Rinks at Exeter.  Tight game from start to finish with Saundrine stopping 16 of 17 shots.  Jordan scoring in the first period with the assist from Olivia.  Grace scoring in the third period to give us the lead from Sara.  Some erratic play both offensively and defensively but we were still able to pull out the victory.

Wednesday, September 30
Important Dates

Regional Tier II tournament will be held in Rhode Island March 12-14.  Location to be determined.

National Tier II tournament will be held in Lansing, MI April 7-11.

Development Camp will be held at St. Anselm College in July with dates to be determined. 

 



Sunday, September 27
Lady Breakers Defeat Charles River 4-0

The Lady Breakers skated to a 4-0 victory against Charles River at the Bosh Center in Dedham, Ma.  This marks the first game of the season in the NEGHL.  Sara Grover stepped it up today scoring the hat trick and also had 1 assist.  Grace scored the opening goal with the assist from Sara.  Sara then scored on the very next face off from center ice with the assist from Alyssa to end the 1st period.  Two goals in the second period from Sara and another assist by Alyssa.  Third period remained scoreless with both Rachel and Saundrine combining for the shut out.  Excellent play by our defensive units today to help keep total shots on goal for Charles River at 10.



Sunday, September 20
Lady Breakers Defeated Seacoast U16 Today at Biddeford Ice Arena 3-0

The Lady Breakers skated to a 3-0 victory today against the visiting Seacoast Lightning.  We started off flat in the first period with only 7 shots on goal to Seacoast 3.  Second period we played a little stronger but we were outshot 8-4.  A challange was placed to the team in the third period of 2 shots on goal for each line every shift.  That challange was answered outshooting Seacoast 19-4 in the third period.  The third period was where we scored on all goals due to relentless forechecking.  Jackie Aaskov scored on a rebound to start off the scoring unassisted.  Ariel netted the second goal from Jackie M.  Rebecca received the third goal from Amber and Jordan.  Great start to the season with Saundrine notching the shut out.
