Saturday, May 20 Panthers Lose to Los Gatos in Pitchers Duel 2-0 and Finish 1-1 in CCS. Cory Edwards pitches complete game 3 hitter., The Panthers ended their season with two strong games in the CCS tournament with the final game for Burlingame being the tough 2-0 loss to the number 1 seed Los Gatos. Friday, March 17 Burlingame and the rest of the pack in the Bay Division Once again there will be 3 divisions in the 2006 season. Bay, Ocean and Lake. Please note that Burlingame once again will defend the Bay Division title against 2 new teams (Capuchino and Menlo)and 3 returning teams (Half Moon Bay, Menlo-Atherton and El Camino). Both Carlmont and Terra Nova are now swimming in the Ocean along with Aragon, Mills, and San Mateo. In 2006 Burlingame will play each team in the Bay Division three times and therefore play 15 league games. Detailed below are their division foes. BAY DIVISION (BHS plays each team three times) Burlingame, Capuchino, El Camino, Half Moon Bay, Menlo-Atherton, and Menlo High School Thursday, May 18 Panthers Win Opening Game of CCS ,Steve Riddle &Solid Defense Shuts Down Live Oak Burlingame defeats Live Oak 3-1 to advance to game two of the CCS Tournament. In an old fashioned game hi-lited by very strong pitching by Steve Riddle who pitched a complete game yiedling five hits, with excellent defense led by Josh Weisman who made six solid plays at short-stop and Trevor Pasiecznik who made three excellent plays in left-field the Panthers defeated the Live Oak Accorns 3-1. Capuchino and MA qualify for CCS. With the win over Mills High School the Panthers qualified for REVIEW by achieving an 11-11 record during the last 22 official games of the season. Based on a point system, the CCS Committee will review the points of all other eligible teams to determine if the Panthers will receive an At Large Berth. Feldman is making his second stint with the Rangers, but didn't pitch in his previous major league callup. He was 1-2 with a 2.06 ERA in 52 relief appearances for Class A Bakersfield and Frisco this season. Feldman graduated from Burlingame High School in 2001 and then pitched for the College of San Mateo. In his September call-up with the Rangers, Feldman pitched 9.1 innings and finished the 2005 season with a 0.96 ERA while striking out 4 batters Former Panther's 3rd baseman Henry Wrigley(class of 2004) becomes the second Panther in the last three years to get drafted into the major leagues. Wrigley was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 14th round and then signed a contract on August 10th. He will report to Rookie Camp. Wrigley currently holds the records for AB, R (tied), Hits, and batting average at Burlingame High School.
