B.A.S.S. Federation Nation of Virginia Region 8: Welcome

BFNVA R8
Welcome to the B.A.S.S.Federation Nation of Virginia Region 8 Home page.

Some changes in BFNVA, Mike Bryant is the new Federation Nation State President and we look forward to working with him.  Joan has stepped down but she is still involved and has started a new endeavor.  She is out educating 5th and 6th grade classes on GPS use with our Lowrance handhelds.  If you have a class that might be interested she is always ready to spread the wealth.  Contact her with the info and she will be happy to arrange a class with the school.

B.A.S.S. is under new ownership and we have been informed that they will focus on getting more participation at the college level and have opened up slots at the Bass Master Classic for college anglers.  The next project will be establishing a High School level club system similar to Orange County's where anglers can letter in fishing and some scholarship incentives will be available.  Look forward to more information in November after the Federation Nation Nationals.

Region 8 includes the counties of Westmoreland, Richmond, Northumberland, Lancaster, Essex, King and Queen, Middlesex, Gloucester, Matthews, York and James City and all cities in those counties as well as the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Yorktown and Williamsburg.

We are interested in any clubs in this area that would like to join the Federation Nation to include any organization interested in sponsoring a Youth Program.  Our Youth Anglers are eligible to fish as team members at the 6 Man Team Tournament as well as National Regional and National Jr. Bassmaster events.  A new B.A.S.S. rule allows 16 year old members to compete at the adult level which is very exciting.  Our adults are provided with a means to fish their way to a Bassmaster Classic through Regional, State and National events.  Take advantage of the savings offered by the Alliance Program on boats, motors, trolling motors and batteries.  While serving as the regions director I will assist you in any way that I can welcoming existing clubs to the Nation family or helping to set up new clubs from scratch.  If you are moving into the area and looking for a club I can get you in touch with the right people.  This is friends enjoying time on the water with a competitive edge, an eye on conservation and the opportunity to teach our youth some of the skill sets needed to be good fishermen and successful adults later in life.  Please feel free to contact me at:
