The BAYSL Bulldogs brought home the Gasparilla Cup Championship this weekend, going undefeated through 3 games and winning the Final, 2-0! The B'Dogs played great soccer and fought hard with only 1 sub through 4 games. They defeated the HCU Rockets 7-0, HCU Lightning 5-0, and then tied HCU Dangerous Diamonds 1-1. The B'Dogs were then put up against the HCU Need for Speed in the final and came out on top by the score of 2-0.

Flames Qualify for Nationals...Capture 3rd Place at Bagel Bites 3 v 3 Tourney!
Our BFC U-7 boys had a tremendous weekend, playing some very strong competition on their way to a 3rd Place finish at the Clearwater Regional Qualifier. The boys completed the weekend Winning 3 matches, Losing 2, and they scored 30 goals in just 5 games!
The Flames started the tourney with a hard fought 4-3 win against SCFYMCA, and an 11-2 victory against the Little Ice on Saturday. Sunday's matches were far more difficult and meaningful as well. In the morning they ended their preliminary round matches with a heart breaking 5-6 loss against the defending National Champ Wild. Following that difficult match they had less than 60 minutes to be ready for a semi-final match against the Youth Soccer Academy (Ft. Lauderdale). Their wasn't much left in the tank for our boys in this match-up, they fell behind early and couldn't overcome the heat and the tough opposition, losing 4-7.
The 3rd Place match versus HCU's Dangerous Diamonds was a different outcome, however. Our Flames never gave up, down 1-3 at the half and then 3-5 with 2 minutes remaining. The boys tied it at 5-5 with less than a minute left in the game. The game continued tied through the overtime session, and the Flames prevailed in the Sudden Death PK Shootout, 4-3!
The Flames have now qualified for the National Championship's which will be taking place August 5th thru 7th, 2005 at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

Flames Reach Quarterfinals at Nationals in Orlando
Our BFC Flames boys played outstanding soccer at the recently completed 3 v 3 National Championships at the Disney Sports complex, as they reached the Quarterfinals, losing to the Champion Weston Bulldogs, 1-3. The boys played against some very strong competition, most of which have had several years experience playing in the 3 v 3 format. This was just our boy's second attempt at playing in this format, and they should be VERY proud of their accomplishment.
