Game Played 11/9/2009 7:00PM

Overtime Thriller!!
In what will become one of the greatest games in MAYFL history, the Ben Hill Tigers ended the season of the DeKalb Trojans, 26-25, in overtime. Three weeks ago, the Trojans marched into Ben Hill, and defeated the Tigers 33-0. That was the turning point in the Tigers' season, as they have rolled off three consecutive victories. This game was back and forth, and provided the kind of entertainment you would pay for.
The Trojans were leading 13-6, when the Tigers ended a Trojan drive and eventually tied the score, 13-13. DeKalb looked to shake things up a bit, and changed their offense from a single wing, to a 4 wide reciever spread look. It worked, as they marched the field and scored to take a 19-13 lead, with 4 minutes left in the game. Ben Hill moved down the field with precision and patience, and punched it in, to tie the game at 19-19, with 1:09 left in the game. The Trojans would not go away quietly. The marched the field, twice turning the ball over, only to get possession back on each TO. With the clock winding down, #2 threw an interception at the goalline, and the Tigers forced overtime.
Ben Hill got the ball first, and promptly scored on an acrobatic catch, by Reggie Askew, and scored the extra point to Deon Jones, to take a 26-19 lead. DeKalb recieved the ball at the 10, and on 4th down, #2 found his tight end, #11, in the end zone, to close the gap to 26-25. They would fail on the extra point, and the Tigers preserved the victory.
Next for Ben Hill, The Fairburn Flames.
