Pitch for the Cure

Pitch for the Cure 2006 - June 23-25th

Schutt Sports - Our Pitch for the Cure Top Sponsor     Ozark Komen - Pitch for the Cure Partner

Pitch for the Cure is only 5 weeks away but we have room for girls’ fastpitch teams and women’s slowpitch teams!!  (Pass it on)

This special softball tournament takes places June 23-25th in Springdale, AR which is approx. 1 ½ hour E of Tulsa & 4 hours S of Kansas City.  We send you this message in hopes that your team(s) will have interest in joining us for the first annual Pitch for the Cure NIT Tournament.

We will unite regional softball teams in an event to raise team funds and support the Ozark Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  This three day USSSA NIT tourney has a 3-game guarantee for girls' fastpitch brackets:  10U, 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U and offers games for women's slowpitch corporate/church teams.  The event promotes breast health in our community to women of all ages as well as the importance of supporting our girls in sports as a positive life choice.  We also hope to boost fastpitch softball in our geographic region.

With Schutt Sports as our top sponsor, we hope to raise $12,000 dollars for Ozark Komen.  EACH player receives a Schutt helmet sack filled with various donated products PLUS the top winner in each fastpitch age bracket receives Schutt softball helmets in team colors for each player as part of their award!

We provide game balls, scorekeeper/scoreboard, and teams do NOT pay gate attendees’ entrance fee.

Besides tournament play, our weekend includes team t-shirt contests, a home run derby (additional proceeds for Komen), vendors and an awesome silent auction.  Join us for this first of its kind softball event on June 23-25th, 2006 in Springdale, AR.  Show your support for these great causes and have a great time!  Online registration or print-for-mail forms can be found at:  http://www.pitchforthecure.org/

ACT FAST to get your FastPitch Footnotes included in the event program!
These are small text only notes that you can send to one another, your team, coach, parents, other teams, etc.  Parents, friends and grandparents can also purchase them for your team to wish good luck.  These notes will appear throughout the event book.  They are $10.00 per note which includes up to 100 characters.  Besides showing your own team spirit, these funds help us reach that $12,000 goal for Komen!  For more details and the print form:  http://pitchforthecure.org/footnote-form.pdf

We also invite you or your team to honor your loved ones that have battled breast cancer during a candle ceremony that takes place on Saturday night of the tourney.  For a $5.00 contribution, we will light a pink votive candle and announce the name of your honoree.  Each honoree will be listed in the program (if rec’d by 5-31-06) and on the website.  This is for anyone that has battled breast cancer...whether they are currently fighting, surviving the disease or lost their battle.  http://pitchforthecure.org/tribute-form.pdf

Oklahoma Sensations

Update on the Tanel 360 Boxer Blowout Tournament in Chickasha, Oklahoma!

Everything is looking Great , although we still have open spots in the 6U, 16U & 18U. Now all the age groups can take teams it just depends "IF" a Team doesn't send in there payment by May 14 that you can get in with your payment paid by that due date if your Team is the one waiting to get in or again the other age groups doesn't completely fill up.

I just wanted to mention this that there will be some delicious foods at this Tournament that has been popular at other sporting events. I heard what we are having and I can't wait to have it because it just taste Great!

6U - 10 to 12 available spots.

16U - 2 available spots.

18U - 3 available spots.

There are 80 Teams that has signed up for this Tournament so far! There are some Very Good Teams in all these age groups that this has turned into a Very Good Tournament to watch and will benefit everyone for Nationals seeing these different teams from everywhere that is Good.

Remember also this is supposed to be Fun so let these kids have a time of there Life because they will remember the "Fun" they had most of ALL.

Also, Please inform any 6U T-Ball Teams that you know about this tournament because this is the most Fun for them. Right now we have some of the best T-ball teams signed up and if your team doesn't finished at the top, we are giving a participation award which is a Medal so that all these young kids can be a winner . Most of these young 6U girls is there first year of playing ball and they probably haven't won anything this year and we wanted them to have something to remember and to show to there family members but most of all keep interested in softball and continue to love it because this is our future of softball.

We can only afford to give a participation award to the 6U T-Ball.

Here is the Tanel 360 website:
