The Belles Performance Team: History
The BPT BiographyThe Belles Performance Team is an independent, patriotic, community non-profit organization comprised of professional and multi-talented adult women from college students and the career oriented to mothers and homemakers. Members have ranged in age from 18 to 40 and lived as far south as Colorado Springs and as far north as Fort Collins. Belles' members are dedicated community leaders that serve as positive role models while providing outstanding entertainment with "girl next door" appeal and family friendly routines.
Vision
The Belles' vision is to offer a performance opportunity to adult women to either gain or continue their experience in cheer/dance and community service. The team is corporate owned and independent of any sports, studio or gym organizations. This allows the Belles to perform at the most available venues, from professional, semipro, and collegiate sports games to community and charity events. The Belles' team offers women the chance to achieve their entertainment dreams while providing a fun, fit, and friendly atmosphere to increase their experience and exposure.
That was the vision for the team at creation in 2003 and remains the vision for the program today.
Mission Statement
The Belles are dedicated to providing exciting and quality community entertainment and support by selecting and training dedicated and community service oriented performers to participate on the team.
Theme
Hundreds of diamond and ruby Swarovski crystals adorn each navy and red Belles uniform with silver poms. The patriotic theme represents our pride in the U.S.A.
The team also has purple, silver and black, red and black, and 3 military themed uniforms to meet additional event color schemes and themes.
Program
The BPT program is similar to taking dance classes in a studio with an emphasis on coaching, dance technique development, strength and athleticism. At a dance studio, dancers are instructed and rehearse all year and order many costumes for one recital and/or a competition. There have one major opportunity to perform for maybe up to 1000 people and costumes may never worn again.
The program is also a professional level preparation/simulation. The level of choreography learned is the exact same as many professional NFL/NBA/AFL etc. teams are performing across the country. The style of routines vary from jazz and hip hop to kickline and pom pon. Each year, the BPT performs for millions of people - that is as many if not more then most professional teams. We also invest over 3000 hours in the community each year - performing dance or service.
With the BPT, members still learn, train, and rehearse all year, and they perform and/or make appearances at least once or twice each month. There is a distinct uniform to be worn again and again, year after year. Training not only includes dance technique training and combinations, but aerobic and resistance workouts - so members have the strength and fitness to perform the routines at a high level and look great in the uniform.
The BPT also educates it members with additional resources. Master classes with professional cheerleaders/dancers, workshops and seminars on prevalent topics, and hair, makeup and skincare tips and training - all assist members with improving their knowledge of entertaining at a professional level.
The BPT program is great for dancers looking to begin a professional level dance career, maintain dancing at an adult level, or who are not quite ready to retire from dancing at an adult level.
There is no other opportunity in the state of Colorado for adult women like the BPT program!
