Wednesday, February 27
Falcons Win Division Championship Game Against Hamilton Township

The Falcons defeated Hamilton Township on Tuesday in the Division Championship game 42-38.  Mike Greenman led the team with 16 points, including four three point shots, and Will McDonnell scored 10 points.   Brent Slotoroff had 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.  Tom Bradway added 7 points and 3 steals.  The team finished the season with a record of 20-3, a modern era (since 2001-2002) Belhaven record, and finished the season winning 8 games in a row and 15 of their last 16 games.  Click on the stats link on the left for all of the final stats for the season. 

Monday, February 25
Falcons Win Northfield Invitational Tournament

The Falcons outscored Northfield 16-3 in the fourth quarter to win the Northfield Invitational Tournament 43-35.  Will McDonnell led the team with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals and Brent Slotoroff added 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Mike Greenman added 10 points, including the go ahead three point shot in the fourth quarter.  Obi Onwuka added 4 rebounds and 2 points and Tom Bradway added 3 rebounds and two points.  Will McDonnell passed the 200 point mark for the season and became the 6th player in modern Belhaven history to score over 200 points in their career.  Brent Slotoroff became the first player in modern history to score 400 points in their Belhaven career.  Brent passed Dennis Horner (2001-2002 Belhaven, currently playing basketball at NC State) earlier in the season to move into first place in the career scoring list.   The team increased their record for the season to 19-3, and has now won 14 of their last 15 games.   

Thursday, February 21
Falcons Advance to Finals of NIT

The Falcons defeated Margate 49-26 to advance to the finals of the Northfield Invitational Tournament.  Brent Slotoroff led the team with 13 points, including 3 three point shots, and added 5 steals, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots.  Obi Onwuka added 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks.  Mike Greenman and Will McDonnell each scored 6 points and Tom Bradway and Joe Bodenlos each scored 4.  Doug Moglia added 2 steals and 2 points and Nick Sarkos also scored for the Falcons.  The Falcons increased their record to 18-3 for the season.

Thursday, February 21
Falcons Win First Round Game of NIT

The Falcons defeated Ventnor 46-19 in the first round of the Northfield Invitational Tournament.  Tom Bradway led the team with 12 points, Brent Slotoroff added 11, and Will McDonnell scored 10.  Obi Onwuka, Joe Fortunato, Doug Moglia, and Nick Sarkos all scored for the Falcons. 

Monday, February 11
Falcons win Final Home Game against Dennis Township

The Falcons won their last home game of the season against Dennis Township on Friday 47-19.  Matt Lichtenstein led the team with 8 points, and Joe Fortunato, Joe Bodenlos,  and Will McDonnell each scored 6 points.  Doug Moglia added 5 and Obi Onwuka scored 4 points.  Roman Papademetriou, Jim Cooper, Nick Sarkos, Colin O'Shea, and Brent Slotoroff all scored for the Falcons.  The Falcons finish the regular season with a record of 16-3.

 The JV team also defeated Dennis Township 54-22.  Drew Riska led the team with 11 points, Brett Edmunds added 9, and Frank Vincent and Roman Papademetriou each scored 8.  Nick Sarkos added 7 points, Jim Cooper 5, and Colin O'Shea 4.  The JV team finished the season with a record of 10-4 for the season.



Friday, February 8
Three Point Shots lead Falcons over Upper Township

The Falcons made 8 three point shots in a 55-39 win over Upper Township.  Brent Slotoroff led the team with 16 points, including 4 three point shots, and Mike Greenman and Tom Bradway each scored 13 points.  Will McDonnell scored 5 points, and Doug Moglia and Joe Fortunato also scored for the Falcons.  The Falcons improved to 15-3 for the season and finished with a division record of 8-2; tied for the division championship. 

 The JV team defeated Upper Township 10-8 in a 10 minute game.  Colin O'Shea scored 4 points, Nick Sarkos, Frank Vincent, and Max Grossman all scored for the Falcons.

 The JV team lost to Northfield on Wednesday night 38-39.  Colin O'Shea led the team with 12 points, Max Grossman scored 7, and Jim Cooper had 6 points.  Brett Edmunds, Nick Sarkos, and Drew Riska all scored for the Falcons. 



Wednesday, February 6
Falcons win against Somers Point

The Falcons defeated Somers Point 54-21 on Tuesday.  Brent Slotoroff led the team with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists, and 1 blocked shot.  Will McDonnell added 11 points and 5 rebounds and Colin O'Shea scored 11 points.  Tom Bradway scored 8 points, and Matt Lichtenstein, Jim Cooper, Brett Edmunds, Mike Greenman, and Joe Bodenlos all scored for the Falcons.  The team improved their record to 14-3 for the season and 7-2 in the division. 

The JV team also defeated Somers Point 50-27 on Tuesday.  Brett Edmunds scored 14 points to lead the team.  Nick Sarkos added 11, Colin O'Shea scored 9, and Jim Cooper scored 6.  Max Grossman, Roman Papademetriou, and Frank Vincent all scored for the Falcons.  The JV team increased their record to 8-3 for the season. 



Tuesday, February 5
Falcons Split Two Games Against Hamilton Twp.

 

The Falcons defeated Hamilton Twp. 42-36 on Monday.  Mike Greenman made 4 three point shots and led the team with 15 points.  Will McDonnell added 10 points, Tom Bradway and Brent Slotoroff scored 5 each, and Doug Moglia added 3 points.  Joe Bodenlos and Obi Onwuka also scored for the Falcons.  With the win the team moved into a 3 way tie for the division lead with Northfield and Hamilton Township with a division record of 6-2.  The team's overall record is 13-3.   

 The JV team won on Monday against Hamilton Township 31-30.  Max Grossman led the way with 11 points, Drew Riska added 7, Frank Vincent had 6, and Roman Papademetriou scored 4 points.  Brett Edmunds also scored for the Falcons.  The JV team improved to 7-3 for the season. 

The Falcons lost at Hamilton Township on Friday 29-43.  Will McDonnell scored 11, Brent Slotoroff added 9, Tom Bradway scored 6 points, and Mike Greenman added 3. 

The JV team lost Friday 9-4 in a 10 minute game.  Frank Vincent and Colin O'Shea scored for the Falcons.

 



Friday, February 1
Falcons win at Margate

The Falcons defeated Margate on Thursday 49-21.  Will McDonnell scored 15 points and had 4 assists.  Brent Slotoroff added 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks.  Colin O'Shea and Mike Greenman each scored 5 points, and Obi Onwuka and Tom Bradway scored 4 points each.  Joe Bodenlos and Joe Fortunato also scored for the Falcons.  The team increased their record to 12-2 for the season and won their 7th game in a row.

 The JV team defeated Margate 12-6 in a 10 minute game.  Roman Papademetriou, Nick Sarkos, Max Grossman, Frank Vincent, and Colin O'Shea all scored for the JV team.  The team improved their record to 6-2 for the season. 



Friday, February 1
Huge First Quarter Leads Falcons to Victory over Northfield

The Belhaven Falcons defeated Northfield 44-30 on Wednesday night.  The Falcons led 15-0 after the first quarter and held on for the win.  Brent Slotoroff had 8 points, 6 steals, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds to lead the Falcons.  Will McDonnell had 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Mike Greenman had 9 points and 3 assists.  Joe Bodenlos added 5 rebounds and 5 points, and Tom Bradway also scored 5.  Obi Onwuka added 4 points and 3 rebounds and Joe Fortunato also scored.  Doug Moglia added an assist and one rebound and Matt Lichtenstein added a rebound.  The Falcons increased their record to 11-2 for the season and 5-1 in the division.

 The JV team also defeated Northfield 33-31 on Wednesday.  Colin O'Shea led the team with 15 points and Max Grossman added 10 points.  Frank Vincent added 5 and Gordon Winarick also scored for the Falcons.  The JV team increased their record to 5-2 for the season.



Tuesday, January 29
Falcons win against Galloway

The Falcons defeated Galloway 48-23 on Monday.  Will McDonnell scored 11 points and Brent Slotoroff added 10 points, 5 steals, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.  Mike Greenman added 8 points, 4 steals, and 3 assists.  Tom Bradway contributed 7 points, Joe Bodenlos had 6 rebounds and 3 points, and Obi Onwuka added 7 rebounds.  Colin O'Shea and Joe Fortunato each scored 4 points and Doug Moglia added 2 assists.  The team's record is now 10-2 for the season and 4-1 in the division. 

The JV team lost to Galloway 16-10 in a 10 minute game.  Brett Edmunds and Gordon Winarick each scored 4 points and Max Grossman also scored. 



Monday, January 28
Falcons win at Brigantine

The Belhaven Falcons defeated Brigantine 40-29 on Friday.  Tom Bradway led the team with 12 points, Brent Slotoroff added 10, and Will McDonnell scored 9 points.  Obi Onwuka added 5 points and Joe Bodenlos and Joe Fortunato both scored for the Falcons.  Mike Greenman added 3 assists and 2 steals and Doug Moglia added 2 rebounds and an assist.  The Falcons increased their record to 9-2 for the season. 

Wednesday, January 23
Falcons win at Upper Township

The Belhaven Falcons won at Upper Township on Tuesday 43-32.  Will McDonnell led the team with 15 points and was 9-12 from the free throw line, setting a Belhaven single game record for most free throws made in one game.  Brent Slotoroff added 10 points and 8 steals.  Tom Bradway chipped in with 7 points and Mike Greenman added 6.  Doug Moglia added 2 steals and 2 assists and Obi Onwuka and Joe Bodenlos also scored for the Falcons.  The Falcons' record is now 8-2 for season, and 3-1 in the division.

 The JV team won 51-38 against Upper Township.  Brett Edmunds and Nick Sarkos each scored 11 points to lead the team.  Colin O'Shea added 8 points, Jim Cooper and Drew Riska each scored 6, and Frank Vincent added 5 points.  Max Grossman and Gordan Winarick also scored.  The JV team now has a record of 4-1 for the season. 



Friday, January 18
Slotoroff leads Falcons to Win over Margate; JV wins 70-22.

Brent Slotoroff scored 23 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Falcons to a 48-40 win over Margate.  Tom Bradway added 7 assists, 5 points, and 5 steals.  Will McDonnell added 9 points and 8 rebounds.  Mike Greenman added 5 points and 2 assists, Doug Moglia added 2 assists and a three point shot, and Joe Fortunato added 4 points.  Joe Bodenlos and Obi Onwuka each contributed 2 rebounds.  The Falcons improved their record to 7-2 for the season.

The JV team won 70-22 against Margate.  Colin O'Shea led the team with 15 points, Brett Edmunds scored 12, Nick Sarkos added 11, and Jim Cooper scored 10 points.  Frank Vincent scored 9 points, Gordan Winarick scored 8, and Max Grossman added 6.  Roman Papademetriou and Drew Riska also scored for the Falcons.  The JV team increased their record to 3-1 for the season. 



Thursday, January 17
Falcons win at Somers Point

The Belhaven Falcons defeated Somers Point 45-16 on Wednesday.  Will McDonnell led the team with 9 points, and Colin O'Shea scored 8.  Joe Fortunato added 8 rebounds and 4 points, Brent Slotoroff had 4 steals, 3 assists, and 5 points.  Nick Sarkos and Tom Bradway each scored 5 points, and Mike Greenman, Doug Moglia, Frank Vincent, and Jim Cooper all scored.  Matt Lichtenstein added 4 rebounds and Joe Bodenlos had 3.  The Falcons improved their record for the year to 6-2 and 2-1 in the division. 

Tuesday, January 15
Falcons Fall to Northfield

The Falcons lost to Northfield 40-36 on Monday.  Brent Slotoroff led the team with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals.  Tom Bradway added 12 points and Joe Fortunato scored 4.  Will McDonnell added 4 points and 9 rebounds and Mike Greenman added 3 points and 2 assists. 

Friday, January 11
Falcons defeat Galloway

The Falcons defeated Galloway 37-27 yesterday.   Brent Slotoroff led the team with 13 points, 6 steals, and 4 rebounds. Obi Onwuka added 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocked shots, and Will McDonnell added 6 points and 8 rebounds.  Joe Fortunato added 4 points, and Doug Moglia, Mike Greenman, Tom Bradway, and Joe Bodenlos all scored for the Falcons.  The Falcons improved to 5-1 for the season.
The JV team lost 20-7 to Galloway in a 10 minute game.  Nick Sarkos, Colin O'Shea, and Max Grossman all scored.


Monday, January 7
Falcons defeat Brigantine

The Falcons defeated Brigantine on Friday 46-35.  Will McDonnell led the team with 19 points, Tom Bradway scored 10, and Brent Slotoroff added 9.  Obi Onwuka added 4 points and Matt Lichtenstein and Joe Bodenlos also scored for the Falcons.  The Varsity team improved their record to 4-1 for the season.
The JV team defeated Brigantine 52-15.  Jim Cooper led the team with 10 points, and Colin O'Shea and Frank Vincent each scored 8.  Drew Riska and Cole Winarick added 6 points each, Nick Sarkos and Brett Edmunds each scored 5, and Max Grossman added 4 points.  The JV team is now 2-0 for the season. 


Friday, December 21
Falcons Lose to Northfield in LHT Finals

The Falcons lost to Northfield in the finals of the Linwood Holiday Tournament 44-33.  Will McDonnell led the team with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Tom Bradway added 10 points.  Brent Slotoroff scored 4 points and added 6 rebounds and 3 assists.  Doug Moglia scored 4 points and Joe Fortunato and Joe Bodenlos also scored for the Falcons. 



Tuesday, December 18
Falcons Win Semifinal Game in Linwood Holiday Tournament

The Falcons defeated Margate yesterday 45-30 in the semifinals of the Linwood Holiday Tournament.  Brent Slotoroff led the team with 16 points, 13 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists.  Will McDonnell added 9 points and 10 rebounds, Obi Onwuka added 6 points, and Tom Bradway scored 5.  Mike Greenman had 4 assists and 2 points, Matt Lichtenstein added 4 points, and Joe Bodenlos and Jim Cooper also scored for the Falcons.  Doug Moglia added 2 steals and 2 rebounds and Joe Fortunato had 2 assists and 2 rebounds.  The team will play in the Championship game on Wednesday night against Northfield.


Friday, December 14
Falcons Win in First Round of the Linwood Holiday Tournament

The boys basketball team defeated Blessed Sacrament  49-13 yesterday in the first round of the Linwood Holiday Tournament.  Brent Slotoroff led the team with 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.  Colin O'Shea scored 7 and Tom Bradway added 5.  Matt Lichtenstein, Joe Fortunato, Joe Bodenlos, and Mike Greenman each scored 4 points.  Obi Onwuka, Doug Moglia, Frank Vincent, Jim Cooper, and Nick Sarkos all scored for the Falcons.  The team's next game will be Monday against Margate.


Thursday, November 29
Slotoroff, Bradway lead Falcons to Win over Southern; Edmunds Hits Game Winner

The Boys' Basketball team won their first game yesterday against Southern 50-41.  Brent Slotoroff scored 16 points and had 5 steals, Tom Bradway added 15 points, and Will McDonnell added 11 points.  Mike Greenman had 5 assists and 2 points and Obi Onwuka, Joe Fortunato, and Joe Bodenlos all scored for the Falcons.
The JV team also defeated Southern 35-34.  Brett Edmunds scored the game winning shot with 3 seconds remaining and led the team with 8 points.  Jim Cooper and Nick Sarkos each scored 7 points and Max Grossman added 4.  Gordon Winarick, Drew Riska, Roman Papademetriou, and Frank Vincent all scored for the Falcons. 


Tuesday, November 20
Gold Team Wins in OT in Blue/Gold Scrimmage

The Gold team won the second annual Blue/Gold scrimmage in overtime 48-41.  Joe Fortunato led the Gold team with 16 points and Brent Slotoroff added 12 points.  Tom Bradway scored 8 points, Obi Onwuka added 6, and Roman Papademetriou and Doug Moglia also scored for the Gold team.

The Blue team was led by Nick Sarkos and Colin O'Shea, who each scored 9 points.  Max Grossman and Will McDonnell each added 6 and Joe Bodenlos, Matt Lichtenstein, and Mike Greenman all scored for the Blue team.
