Welcome to Bel Air Baseball
Walk-in registrations are now complete for the 2012 season. Late registration for all age groups (except t-ball - which is closed) will be accepted at the Bel Air Rec office during the week from 8:30am-4:30pm. The office is located at the McFaul Activity Center - 525 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, MD 21014 (behind the MVA). There will be a $10 late fee charged for all late registrations. Late registrations will begin February 1 and continue throughout the month, or until an age group is filled. There are openings currently in the 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-15 age groups.
2012 Registration Dates - COMPLETED Cost of program by age group: 4-6 - $40 - T-ball practice/play Saturday mornings 7-8 - $60 - Machine pitch Mon or Tues and Thurs or Fri (2 games/wk) 9-10 - $70 - 60' diamond w/umpires - Tuesdays and Fridays 11-12 - $70 - 70' diamond w/umpires - Mondays and Thursdays 13-15 - $80 - 80' diamond w/umpires - Sun or Mon and Wednesdays 16-19 - Varies - starts after high school season in May Travel team info will be available at registration - those interested should signup at the first session. Travel tryouts in February. In-house evaluations in early March. Practice/games from April through June. Opening day parade/pictures Saturday April 21st. Background Checks - All coaches and volunteers are requires to complete a background check that can be completed online. Certification is good for two years and is good for participation in all other Bel Air rec programs. The cost will be funded by the Bel Air Rec Council. Concussions in Youth Sports - All coaches, athletes and parents will be required to review and sign-off on a fact sheet on concussions in youth sports for all programs starting July 1, 2011. The Braves won the District 8 Tournament on June 21, 2011 earning them the World Series berth as host team from Harford County. The Braves play in the Harford County Travel Baseball League and finished the season undefeated at 13-0. The course is to be completed online and is good for your entire coaching career with Bel Air Baseball. Bel Air Rec will purchase the course and assign it to you once you have registered at https://www.baberuthcoaching.org/coaches/ . Please notify the Chairperson at belairbaseball@att.net when registered so the course can be assigned.**** Parking for games at Bel Air School Fields**** We have been contacted by the Bel Air Police Department about people parking at Wakefield Meadows for games and/or practices at BAHS, BAMS and HES. Please be aware that parking in Wakefield Meadows is reserved for residents and guests only. There are signs clearly posted indicating that there is no parking for Rec programs. The Bel Air Police have warned us that if people continue to park there, they could be subject to ticketing or towing of their vehicles. Please park in the Bel Air School parking lots only. 9-10 and 11-12 League to Play games at Ripken Baseball Complex in 2011
For the 2011 season, Bel Air Baseball will again be scheduling some of their games on Tuesdays and Thursdays at The Ripken Baseball Complex. One 9-10 game on Tuesdays and one 11-12 games on Thursday will be played starting the week of April 25th. Directions to the fields are as follows: Take route 95 north to exit 85 (rt 22). Turn left onto rt 22. Turn right onto Long Drive and follow to complex. Parking lot is located on left prior to the Warehouse Marriot Hotel. Fields are located to the left of Ripken Stadium on the other side of the hotel. We will be using the newly turfed National Bank Park field on both Tuesday and Thursday.
