Beith ace Gary Wilson backs side to march to title as he fights for fitness

GARY WILSON insists he has a big part to play in any future success for Beith - but knows it won't be this season's title tilt.

The 30-year-old defender faces a lengthy lay off after a knee injury forced him to go under the knife for the third time in 12 months.

Wilson knows the hard work will begin early in the new year as he targets pre-season for yet another comeback.

He said "I left Pollok 18 months ago to sign for Dumbarton. I was sent off against Stenhousemuir but also picked up a knee knock. The injury basically ended my spell with the Sons as I had an op to clear up some cartilage.

"When I regained my fitness the players were doing great and went on to win the league. I made the decision to drop back down to the juniors as I wanted to play every week.

"I had a few signing options but chose my old club Beith. I believe they have a team good enough to win major honours."
