WELCOME TO SCRAPPER NATION
THE SCRAPPER BASEBALL SITE. This site is dedicated to the 2006-2007 Scrapper Baseball Select 13-under Boys Baseball Club. Our team is starting it's fourth season together. The Scrappers have built and solidified their chemistry as a team and have been very careful about adding new talent that will enhance the team and add to it's success. The Scrappers are a group of hard working kids from Southeast Texas who love baseball. They have been hand picked to learn to become the best ballplayers they can be. Also to learn to come together as a team and strive towards their baseball goals and dreams. We are a competitive travel team that plays fundamental Baseball with an emphasis on strong defense and execution. We are always open to looking at talented kids who want to expand their baseball experience and who have the kind of parents who can help them. Our team is built on the premise of everyone getting a fair chance to show what they can do and getting a fair chance to earn a spot. Browse through our site, esp the Scrap Book Section to get a better idea about who we are.

SCRAPPERS CAPTURE WINTER SLAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Scrapper Baseball went into Lufkin this past weekend and captured the Winter Slam 13u Tournament Championship with a combination of tough defense, clutch hitting and strong pitching ( and some pretty darn good coaching too!)The Scrappers defeated the ArkLaTex Aces 6-3. We outplayed the Outlaws 8-1 and defeated the Legends 4-2 in an exciting and hard fought Championship Game. I don't think Lufkin will soon forget Scrapper Baseball after their performance over the weekend.

Baseball USA Tournament
Well this was a tough tournament. Very, very, very cooold. For those die hards that stuck it out YEA! We came out strong winning the first game against the Toros. The second game of the day wasn't so good. It was freezing and rainy and after being out in the horrible weather for many hours it began to take it's toll on the boys. We lost the second and third game.

FAMOUS SPORTS QUOTES
"Most games are lost, not won." - Casey Stengel
"The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand." - Vince Lombardi
"I told him I wasn't tired. He told me, 'No, but the outfielders sure are.'" -- Texas Rangers pitcher Jim Kern on the manager who removed him from a game, 1979
" The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime." - Babe Ruth "You can observe a lot just by watchin'." - Yoggi Berra
"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at bats a season. That means I played seven years without ever hitting the ball." -- Mickey Mantle, 1970
