Learn to Skate/Learn to Play Hockey Program

The Bear Mountain Hockey Club welcomes children 4-10 years old to participate in the 2011/2012 Learn to Skate/Learn to Play Hockey Programs!The Learn to Skate sessions will be every Wednesday from 5:00 to 5:45 pm. Learn to Play Hockey will follow from 5:45 to 6:30 pm. The cost for the Learn to Skate program is $110.00 for the first child in a family and $70.00 for each additional child in that family. The cost for the Learn to Play Hockey program is an additional $130.00 per player. (Registration for Learn to Skate is required for hockey players.) Players must also register online for USA Hockey insurance. Please call Doug Estey (President of the B.M.H.C.) at (914) 420-7419 to pre-register. 2011/2012 Ice Schedule: 2011 ~ 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23, 11/30, 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, (No Ice 12/28)2012 ~ 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 2/29 (possibly 3/7) In case of bad weather, please call the rink after 3:00pm. If the rink is open, we will be there to teach!Or visit the rink website at www.bearmountinicerink.com The purpose of the Learn to Skate program is to teach basic skating skills to beginning skaters. It is a group, not private lesson. We gear the program toward younger skaters and allow parents on the ice to assist the skaters when necessary (at no additional cost). Older siblings may also sign up (for a reduced fee) if they must accompany the family to the rink. All skaters must wear a helmet (a bike helmet is acceptable) to participate and you must bring your own skates. Sometimes skates are available for rent at the rink but we cannot guarantee that they will be available. The Learn to Play Hockey players must participate in both programs. Good skating skills make great hockey players. The purpose of the Learn to Play Hockey program is to teach basic hockey skills to beginning players. These players must have full hockey equipment to participate, which consists of the following:1. An approved helmet with cage. 6. Hockey gloves2. Mouth guard and chin strap 7. Hockey pants3. Neck guard 8. Supporter and cup4. Shoulder pads 9. Shin pads and hockey socks5. Elbow guards 10. Hockey skates and an ICE hockey stick

Learn to Play Hockey
The learn to play hockey program will begin Wednesday Nov 2nd @ 5:45 at Bear Mtn. Rink. Full hockey equipment is required for the learn to play hockey program. Players must be registered in the Learn to Skate to participate in the Learn to Play Hockey program.

Need to find a rink?
Become your Team Webmaster
Let the world know about your team. Become a webmaster for your team. Trust me, it is really easy! Let your manager know if you want to do it and we'll sign you up. All you have to do is go to your team web page and click on the message board and register. Just make sure you write that you want to be the webmaster.
West Point Rink Announcement
We have been notified by the MP's that any cars parked in the lot adjacent to the Holleder center or on the road next to the rink WILL be ticketed and towed. Cars must be parked in the upper lot. Please do not sit in the Press Box area. New electronic equipment has been installed and the rink wants to avoid damaging it. Please keep any children away from this area also. The staff at the rink also request that all spectators use the trash receptacles at the bottom of the stairs to dispose of any cans,bottles and wrappers.
