Matt Hochstatter
Head Coach Waccamaw Waves 2014
Wilkes University
After spending the 2014 Beach Collegiate Baseball League season as head coach for the Waccamaw Waves, I have a great understanding of the BCBL and what makes it prime for growth. The BCBL is a league fit for all players. Whether you are a redshirt freshman eager to get at-bats, or a graduated senior trying to impress scouts one last time, the BCBL provides a valuable baseball experience for all collegiate players. There is no better place to master your craft on the field and to makes friends for life off the field than the BCBL in Myrtle Beach. Dan LeDuc and Sean Lomas noticed a great opportunity for college summer baseball in Myrtle Beach, and their efforts to create, maintain and grow a first-rate league are second to none. I’m proud to return to the BCBL to coach the WaccamawWaves in 2015, and look forward to watching the league grow into something special.

First, I would like to thank Sean Lomas, John Lomas and Dan Leduc for inviting me back for my third year to be a Head Coach in the BCBL. The experience for me the last two summers has been very rewarding. I get a chance to give back to the game that raised me. The opportunity to be a part of young players development during the summer is made, a pleasant exerience by the staff of the BCBL. They make sure the teams and coaches have what they need to succeed. I would recommend the BCBL to all college coaches and players nation wide. I spent 6 years as the hitting coach for the Santa Barbara Foresters in the NBC. This experience in the BCBL is comparable to that ,with the exception of we play all our games in Myrtle Beach,SC. Myrtle Beach ,SC is one of the worlds best hidden secrets. So if your in Myrtle Beach,SC vacationing this summer stop by and watch some excellent action baseball in the BCBL . You will not be disappointed!

“The 2014 season of the Beach Collegiate Baseball League was a great experience for everyone involved. The players were able to get valuable experience playing every day against good competition, and were still able to make friends and enjoy their summer away from the diamond. As a coach, I greatly enjoyed working with Commissioner Sean Lomas and GM Dan LeDuc to make sure everything ran smoothly, and thanks to their hard work my summer was a great success, and because of that I am looking forward to returning for my second season as a coach next year. I highly recommend the BCBL to all college players who are looking to improve their game, face strong competition, and get lots of playing time, all while enjoying their summer in one of the best places to spend a summer in the country!

Tony Boyer
Head Coach: NMB Bluefish 2014

Every year I have watched the BCBL evolve into a top notch league for college players to get quality baseball in during the Summer. Having been a part of the league for going on my 3rd year, I am proud to be a part and certainly looking forward to my new roll as Assistant GM. Sean Lomas and Dan LeDuc both show incredible dedication and leadership and are the reason for the strength and growth of the BCBL. I am blessed to call them both friends and look forward to working closely with them to continue to improve an already strong league. Looking forward to seeing you all next Summer!!

Phil McClure
Head Coach: Windy Hill Whales 2014

2014 was my first season in the Beach Collegiate Baseball League and as the Head Coach of the Windy Hill Whales. The BCBL is a great opportunity for every collegiate athlete to gain exposure to professional scouts and continue playing throughout the summer. The BCBL contains players from all different levels which gives the athletes exposure to high levels of competition to help them “step their game up” for when they return to their colleges in the fall. As a coach, I was really impressed with how the league was run and the way the GM was easily accessible for any needs or to help fix any issues we ran into throughout the summer. The league was great at keeping stats on all players and did very well in game operations. I would promote this league to any collegiate baseball players looking to play during the summer.

I have had the pleasure of recruiting and coaching in the BCBL for the 2013 season. It was an honor and I was humbled by the total experience. The group of young men that I coached were respectful of the game they respected me and we had a great time as a group. To watch their comraderie from the dugout and from a distance is a testimony to the BCBL Staff , Sean Lomas and his family. BCBL is a class act and I would recommend the BCBL to all colleges across the USA. I had a wonderful experience. The competition was excellent. I had several players from my Benedict College team that were also impressed by the competition and the whole experience. I look forward to returning next season. The fact that the league is in Myrtle Beach,SC also is great.

photo 2Abe Arguello-Texas A&M Kingsville Coach – The Beach Collegiate Baseball League offers and incredible amount of baseball for young players starting out in their collegiate careers. It offers scenery and activities 2nd to none away from the ball field while providing competitive baseball inside the lines on a daily baseball. I encourage all college baseball coaches to send their best young talent to this league!

The BCBL was a very good experience. Nice league to come and work on your mechanics, stay in shape and have some exposure. I got to meet very nice people while being up there and the league level is good for being only its second year.

Dom Wyshinski-Young Harris College

Hunter Barnett-Mt Olive
The BCBL was a very fun experience this summer. The league of full of competitive players all with one common goal “to get better”. Through this league you will gain life long friendship’s with players all over the country and to top it off your in Myrtle Beach for the summer. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Green Campbell Yale Univ
I loved the league, the turf fields were great and each player got tons of reps, myself included. I loved our coaches, the gym membership was perfect, and the Allstar game at Pelicans field was sweet. Would have loved a little better mounds at turf fields but other than that, no complaints, nothing but respect for the league and the way things were run.

Brent Lawson-Yale Univ
I enjoyed how the games were close with minimal travel.  Our personal coaches allowed us to play and really were fun to play with. I got plenty of reps and appreciated the small roster size. Overall it was a great summer playing in the myrtle beach area.

Taylor McInnis-Virginia Intermount
I thought the Talent level was a lot better then it was in the first year. The travel was not nearly as far as it was last year and the living situation was better last year. Much improved from year one to year two.

Derek Prucnal-LaSalle Univ
Thanks Sean for having me as a part of the BCBL. It was a fun experience and good for development as well.

Francis Chock-Florence Darlington

"Well the season is over and my son is back home in St Paul, MN. We recently yalked about his experience in the BCBL. He told me how great his coaches were and said he would play for them anytime. They made sure everyone got plenty of playing time. He said every teammate was very nice and the fields were top notch. The umpires were very good and the scorekeepers were very friendly. The competition was very good and they played a lot of games in a 5 week season. He enjoyed the beach, played some golf and ate some great food. What a great experience for a 19 year old young man. As his father I wanted to thank you and everyone involved in the BCBL. Surfs Up till next time!

The BCBL gave me the opportunity to experience the talents of players from around the country, while allowing me to enjoy all that Myrtle Beach has to offer.                                                                                                                                                                        Adam Triarico/Surf 2017
My experience with the BCBL was awesome. I got a great deal of opportunity to better my skills and expand my abilities by playing and practicing everyday. What was the most important to me playing int he BCBL is that it was fun and relaxed, but also competitive. My team, roommates, and coaches also contributed to the great experience I hd in the BCBL. I'm very glad this is the league I picked to play in this summer. Thank you for a great experience.                                                                                                                                       Nick Sainato/Bluefish 2017
"My name is Cameron Duggins and I'm a catcher at Centre College in Danville, KY. For the past two summers I have played for the Conway Cadets in the BCBL. Both seasons my Cadets team was able to make it to the championship and win it all our second go around. It's a unique experience to have teammates and play against guys from colleges all across the US and even from other countries. The BCBL kept me in game shape, while also allowing me the ability to work on some mechanical adjustments one might not be able to during a college season. I would recommend the BCBL to any guy at any collegiate level looking to compete and better there game over the course of a 30 game season."

I loved the BCBL & I had an amazing experience with teammates and my coaches! I thought the competition was great and we were constantly playing against some of the best pitching and best hitters I ever saw! And I hope to be there next year!                                                                                                                                         Noah Suarez/Lagoon 2017
I had a great time playing baseball in the BCBL. I met some great people that I will stay in contact with for years to come. The coaches for me were the highlight of my experience. They were real laid back, but they were there for own individual development. They cared more about helping the players with individual development than wins and losses.

"The BCBL was an excellent experience! It's a whole different level of baseball. A very organized league and very competitive"

"My name is Will Welsh, and I have the privilege of playing in the BCBL Myrtle beach league. Coming from a smaller D3 school, Lancaster Bible College, it really is a blessing to be able to travel south to play the game I love against competitors from all over and seeing a wide variety of competition. I greatly enjoyed meeting all the people that I did, making new friends, going to the beach, and all while playing the game I love. The side competitions such as the homerun derby, fast man, and scout day are a great way for some competitive fun and for kids who are looking for schools to be seen. Overall I had a wonderful experience while playing in the BCBL Myrtle Beach League."

My first year coaching for the North Myrtle Beach Bluefish in the Beach Collegiate Baseball League was an unforgettable experience.  The BCBL provides many opportunities for talented players to get seen and recruited by college coaches, as well as an optional Scout Day (Showcase Format) where players get a chance to show off their tools.
Opposing coaches are most likely a players best chance of getting recruited in this league.  With teams playing at the same site five days a week the coaches get to know each other, as well as each others players.  I was not only able to get an idea of who the best players in the league were, but also found out:
-How players got ready before the game (stretching, catch, etc)
-Which players respected their teammates, coaches  and umpires.
- Which players respected the game  and played hard all the time.
-How players handled failure and adversity.

The BCBL does a great job keeping rosters to a manageable size, so that players can get more reps.  Every player will get to play in this league, but the games are still very competitive.  As a coach, having an EH and a DH allowed me to give every player on my roster opportunities to get into big game situations and contribute.

For pitchers, this league provides the option to throw for a month against collegiate hitters and then rest until your college season. However, several pitchers from my team went on to join teams in other collegiate leagues following our season to finish out the summer.

The BCBL is a great league for players who love the game and want to get better. There is A LOT of talent in this league and I am excited to return to the league in 2018.

"The 2017 season for the BCBL was an awesome experience. As a first time head coach at the collegiate level, I had the chance to learn and grow from other coaches and even the players on my team. From playing in the league 5 years ago to coaching in it this past year, I am certain that players from any college in the country can benefit from a summer in the BCBL. With a great group of returning coaches any team in the league will give any player an opportunity to grow as a player and a man." Seth McClemore/Head Coach Windy Hill Whales 2017/Central Baptist

"The BCBL was a great experience as a player. Both Coach Meyer & Coach Talley were full of knowledge and very helpful in development. I was able to get to know other baseball players from all over the country. It was a great month full of baseball and hanging out with the guys at the beach. The Manowars were one of the most fun teams I've ever played with! Everyone was a good guy and enjoyed spending time together. The BCBL was definitely a positive experience as a player and I would encourage anyone looking for a month full of competitive baseball and a lot of reps with games every week day to join the league!"
