I'm a believer

Matt Schimenz - 6th Grade Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator
Coach Schimenz
Matt has lived in Brown Deer for 14 years. He has been a K-12 physical education teacher for the past 20 years.

During the 20 years, Matt has had the opportunity to coach a multitude of sports at varying levels.

He has always found coaching youth sports to be the most rewarding because of its purity. He believes that youth sports should be instructional, fundamental, and fun. In addition, all kids should have the opportunity to play & that winning should NOT be the main focus.

Matt decided to coach because he enjoys working with kids. It is a way he can give back to the wonderful community of Brown Deer, and it gives him more time to spend with his own children. 2007 is Matt's 7th season with BDYF.

When asked "How he got started and why he keeps coming back?" he replies "started coaching because my youngest son played for a program where the previous year had seen a complete turnover of the coaching staffs, and they needed help...I enjoy watching the kids grow during the season...the unique challenges each year brings, whether it's proving people wrong with a team no one thinks will do much, or meeting the expectations of a team that everyone thinks will do well. Helping that "weakest" player on the team show value...or taking that "best" player on the team to the next level of leadership....my objective is to send players to the high school that are better than they were when they reached the 8th grade team, that know the meaning of TEAM, and that have the confidence to succeed at the next level... "

She is a pround Falcon fan. Her motto? GO WILD!

Tracy Miller - Head Cheerleader Coach
I have been a resident in Brown Deer since I moved here in 6th grade in 1982. I was a youth/HS cheerleader in Brown Deer, and graduated in 1988.  I have 3 sons, Derek-who graduated last year 2008, Zach is in 8th grade and Tony is in 5th grade.  They both attend BDMS and play youth football.  My husband Jerry also has lived in Brown Deer his whole life and graduated in 1986.

I work full-time as a Clinical Data Registrar for Aurora Health Care.  This is my second year as Head Coach of the Youth Cheerleading program.  It has very rewarding to see the program grow and watch the progress of the girls throughout the season.  I believe that cheerleading is much more than looking cute in a skirt.  It is alot of hard work, and now incorporates, tumbling, dance, and stunting.  Like football, it promotes a sense of teamwork and accomplishing a goal by working together.  There is commitment, and responsibility beyond yourself in order to have success.  I believe that on and off the field, respect for yourself, your squad and those who volunteer, is of the upmost importance.  And, having fun through activity and making new friends is a bonus!

I hope to have the youth program be a "feeder" to what now is a very competitive and successful High School Program.  Having the youth program be successful promotes a sense of pride and accomplishment for everyone involved.  I have gained a new respect for those who take their time to volunteer and ensure that our youth have programs to be involved with in our community,  Thanks to everyone who helps me out, I surely could not do this alone.  Also, thanks to all the fans who come out and cheer on the Falcons with us!
