Bulldogs show heart, flex muscle - beat P-Town Padres 12-10
The game started with the Bulldogs digging themselves into a hole. One hit and three Bulldog errors later and the Padres are up 4-0 by the bottom of the 1st. The Bulldogs came back to score 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st on a Luis Castro double that drove in Brian McDonald & Greg Huntoon. The Padres notched another run in the 2nd on a double and a single, and the Bulldogs battled back again to score 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd on singles by Luis Castro and Jess Cortez.

End of 2, Padres 5, Bulldogs 4.

With the score 7-4 against the Bulldogs, the Padres scored three more in the 5th off of two Bulldog errors but the Bulldogs continued to keep pace scoring two to end the inning.

End of 5, Padres 10, Bulldogs 6.

Entering the bottom of the 7th with the Padres leading 10-6, Jeremy Bennett sent a 2-run blast to Center field, scoring Greg Huntoon, and cutting the deficit to 10-8 Padres. Luis Castro continued the battle by reaching on a single, followed by back-to-back walks by Jess and Steven Cortez to load the bases. With 2 outs and a 1-2 count, Bully Holguin parked his 2-strike pitch over the Left field wall for a Grand Slam, his first HR of the season, to put the Bulldogs ahead 12-10!

End of 7, Bulldogs 12, Padres 10.

Greg Huntoon came in to close the game. First batter was sit down on 3 straight pitches. The next batter roped a slider to second where Jess Cortez made a diving play to keep the ball in the infield. After the next batter walked, the fourth batter of the inning grounded into a fielders choice with the out recorded at 2B. Two outs, runners on 1st and 3rd, the runner on first takes off to steal second and beats the throw by Brian McDonald, starting a double steal. The runner on 3rd breaks for the plate but Jess Cortez throws a perfect strike back to the catcher, Brian, to nail the runner at the plate.
