CLOSE GAME TURNS INTO A ROUT, DRILLERS BEAT BULLDOGS 12-1
DIAMOND BAR, CA. - Bulldogs lefty, Danny Macias, Jr got his second start of the season on the hill and again had a quality start as he cruised into the 6th inning with only a 4-1 deficit and no help from his offense, but 2 quick walks to start off the 6th, turned out to be the end. Tom McNamara came in to relieve Macias and the Drillers jumped on him and ended up putting a 3 spot on the board in the 6th to push the lead to 7-1 and gathered another 5 runs in the 8th to put the game out of reach.
The Bulldogs offensive woes continued as they only were able to manage one run on an RBI single by Brian McDonald in the 1st. Many chances were given to the Bulldogs throughout the game including a bases loaded one out situation and an inning with 2 runners on with no outs, but the Bulldogs came away with nothing. The team managed 6 hits through the course of the game. The Bulldogs need to turn things around quick if they want to get out of the 0-4 hole that they have now dug themselves.

LATE INNING HEROICS NOT ENOUGH AS THUNDER SQUEEZES PAST THE BULLDOGS 12-11
April 7, 2008

ONTARIO, CA. - The Bulldogs discovered one thing on sunday, that they can hang with one of the best teams in Single A if they play as a team. The Bulldogs starter, Mike Scott, quickly fell into a hole 3-0 to the Thunder. But were able to chip away and cut the lead to 3-2 in the second on a 2 out 2 run single by Mike Gudino. A back and forth game the whole way, a 2 run single by Jeremy Bennett scored Rick Bowen and Brian McDonald to keep the 'Dogs to within 5-4. By the time Scott had exited the game in the bottom of the 4th, the Bulldogs were leading 6-5, Tom McNamara inherited Scott's 2 runners and gave up a 2 run single. But McNamara's gutsy performance and his son, Mike's spectacular play in CF kept the Thunder from breaking the game open. Heading into the top of the 9th inning the Bulldogs trailed 10-8. Brian McDonald led off the inning with a strike out, but reached base on a wild pitch, Jeremy Bennett walked, and Mike Scott followed with an RBI single and promptly stole 2nd. Mike McNamara struck out and with runners on 2nd & 3rd, Kris Arvedson chopped out to the shortstop. Danny Macias, Jr came up to be the hero, thrown into the game with an injury to 2B Brian Kiepler, Macias, Jr was quickly down in the hole 0-2, the pitch came and he lifted it over the 2B head to score Scott and Bennett and take a 11-10 lead. In the bottom of the 9th, Mike McNamara was in to close the game and quickly struck out the lead off hitter but then gave up a walk, a single and walked 2 more to tie the score and with the infield and OF in, the next batter laced a single to left to end the game and the Thunder walked off with a 12-11 victory.

Bulldogs (0-3) face the So Cal Drillers(3-0) on Sunday April 13th.
