BCL comes up short in final BCL played a tough game but came up short in in the D3 final game versus Rockville-Manchester. BCL got goals from Andy Hackett and seniors Tyler Somes and Brett Nightingale. Shane Hickey played a good game in goal but BCL was unable to kill off Manville power plays. Congratulations to all of the BCL players and coaches on a very successful season. A special congratulations to the 9 BCL seniors that played their final game. They have taken the BCL program to the next level and leave a legacy for the returning players. Many of the founding BCL players were in attendance. Several played on the early teams when scoring goals was a major accomplishment. Some of this years accomplishments;
BCL earns spot in D3 Finals BCL won their semi-final game 2-0 against Bethel/Brookfield to advance to the D3 hockey finals. BCL got an early goal from Tim Lebreux and a late open net goal from Tyler Somes. Shane Hickey made 12 saves for the shutout win. Congratulations to all of the BCL players.
BCL Wins close contest over Southington BCL took a quick 3-0 lead over and only to see Southington score three unanswered goals to tie the game a 3-3. With less than five minutes to play and BCL shorthanded Tyler Somes scored off a pretty feed from Brett Nightingale to give BCL a lead they would not give up. Southington pulled their goalie with only a couple of minutes remaining after BCL had taken a late game penalty. With a 6-4 player advantage Southington pressured BCL goalie Shane Hickey but were unable to score. BCL killed off the attack and scored their final goal as time expired.
BCL Tops St. Bernards in OT for ECC Tourney Title Brett Nightingale scored with 3 minutes remaining in the third period to tie the score 1-1. Mr. Clutch, Tim Lebreux scored the game winner in overtime for the title victory.
BCL cruises to victory BCL had two motivating factors going into the Monday afternoon game with Fitch. Finish the regular season with their 16th win and qualify for the Wednesday conference championship game. BCL took control early and left little to chance scoring on their first three shifts. Tyler Somes scored off assists from Brett Nightingale and James Smith 11 seconds into the game. Tim Costello scored 22 seconds later and Dan Rosania finished the early scoring 33 seconds later with a third goal. Rosania and Andy Hackett led BCL with two goals apiece. Somes, Costello, Joe Motyka, Brian Schnell, Zach Neilan and Phil Levesque added single goals. For Motyka and Levesque it was their first varsity goal. Schnell and James Smith were credited with 2 assists. Nightingale, Tim Lebreux, Motyka and Brian Froh were also credited with assists. Alex Imhof played two periods in goal and earned the victory. Sam Page saw his first varsity action in goal during the third period making 4 saves.
BCL posts 3-2 win over Suffield on senior night Nine BCL seniors played their final regular season home game Saturday night. Tim Lebreux, Jordan Anderson and Brett Nightingale each scored to account for the BCL total. Tim Costello, Brandon Lowery and Tyler Somes were credited with assists. Before the game the seniors were all recognized and Zach Neilan was awarded the 2008 Grant Kenny award. With their 15th victory BCL established a new season high for wins. BCL will finish the regular season with a game versus Fitch on Monday in Norwich.
BCL wins rematch with Rockville/Manchester BCL won the rematch with D3 and BIP rival Rockville/Manchester 2-0.

BCL tops Sheehan Brett Nightingale scored with 7.9 seconds remaining in the third period off a pass from Tyler Somes to beat Sheehan 4-3. Jordan Anderson scored for BCL to tie the game at 1 in the first period. Andy Hackett and Zach Neilan played a strong games and posted second period goals to give BCL a 3-1 lead. Sheehan scored two third period goals to tie the game and set the stage for the last second heroics. Nightingale and Brian Froh were credited with assists.

BCL shutout by Milford BCL put 38 shots on the Milford goal but was unable to find the net.
BCL drops contest with NFA Tyler Somes scored two goals but they were not enough as BCL dropped the Friday night contest with NFA by a score of 5-2. BCL was stymied by the NFA goalie who was credited with 61 saves. NFA scored two empty net goals in the last minute to put the game out of reach.
BCL scores victory over St. Bernards Five different players scored goals in BCL's 8-2 win over ECC rival St. Bernards. Brett Nightingale led the way for BCL tallying four goals. Linemates Tyler Somes and Jordan Anderson each scored goals. Tim Costello and Dan Rosania rounded out the scoring for the Whalers. Zach Neilan had three assists and Brandon Lowrey posted two assists. Brian Froh, Somes and Anderson were also credited with assists. BCL was able to play their entire bench and got great efforts from the entire team. The win ensures BCL of at least a share of the ECC league regular season title. BCL can secure the regular season title and the number one seed in the conference tournament with a win in either of their next two games.
BCL drops contest with Rockville/Manchester BCL dropped a 3-2 overtime contest to 'Man-ville'. The game was very close and competitive for three regular periods and the first three minutes of overtime.Tim Lebreux and Tyler Somes posted goals for BCL. Brett Nightingale, Brian Froh and Brandon Lowery were credited with assists. Shane Hickey was credited with 22 saves.
BCL sweeps season series with EOS BCL topped EOS 2-1 to sweep the two game season series. Brandon Lowrey posted his first career goal. Jordan Anderson scored the game winning goal off a rebound of a Brett Nightingale shot.
BCL over Branford in OT BCL picked up their 10th win of the season when Tim Lebreux scored a power play with just over two to go in overtime to beat Branford. BCL trailed 1-0 after one period before Brett Nightingale and Jordan Anderson scored second period goals to put BCL ahead. Tyler Somes assisted on both goals. Shane Hickey played a solid game in goal stopping 19 of 21 Branford shots to post the win.
BCL rolls past Fitch Alex Imhof turned away 6 shots over 3 periods to post BCL's third shutout of the year. Andy Hackett scored two goals to lead the Whalers scoring parade. Eight different players accounted for the 9 BCL goals. Brett Nightingale, Tyler Somes, Jordan Anderson, Tim Lebreux and Tim Costello scored in addition to Alex Evans and Jason Donadio who both tallied their first varsity BCL goals. Somes, Nightingale, Anderson, Lebreux, Costello, Donadio and Dan Rosania were credited with assists. BCL finishes the first half of the regular season at 9-1.
BCL qualifies for D3 tourney with 4-2 win Four player scored for BCL to earn a hard fought win over E.O. Smith-Tolland-Windham. With the victory BCL pushed their record to 8-1 and became the first D3 team to qualify for post season play. Brett Nightingale, Tyler Somes, Tim Lebreux and Brian Froh posted the four goal for BCL. Zach Neilan, Jordan Anderson, Nightingale and Somes also had assists on the goals. BCL outshot EOS-T-W 35-13 with Shane Hickey picking up the victory.
BCL over Southington 4-1 Brett Nightingale scored two goals to lead BCL to a 4-1 victory. Andy Hackett scored his second of the year and Sam Gott posted his first.
BCL tops ECC rival NFA BCL traveled to Norwich to play ECC rival NFA. Tim Costello and Tim Lebreux each scored a goal to lead BCL to a 2-0 victory. Brian Froh and Tim Costello posted assists. Alex Imhof turned aside 11 NFA shots to post the second shutout of the season.

BCL defeats Suffield Shane Hickey's first shutout of the year combined with Tyler Somes hat trick led BCL to victory over D2 rival coop Suffield-Windsor Locks-Granby. Brett Nightingale added his sixth goal of the year and linemate Jordan Anderson posted an assist. Hickey played a strong game in goal and received solid defensive support from Zach Neilan, Brian Froh, Sam Gott and Brandon Lowrey.

BCL hands Bethel-Brookfield its first loss BCL got goals from Zach 'Big Nasty' Neilan, Andy Hackett, Tim Lebreux and Brett Nightingale. Andy Hackett and Tim Lebreux assisted on each others goals.

BCL last second goal tops Hall BCL scored the winning goal with less than one second left in overtime. With 15 seconds left in the game and the puck in the BCL end Tim Lebreux and Tim 'Sven' Costello went to work. Lebreux cleared the puck from the BCL zone to Costello who skated into the Hall end. With seconds remaining Costello sent the puck towards the Hall net and Lebreux deposited it in the net .4 seconds before the final horn sounded. 430 plus fans had packed the Bolton Ice Palace in anticipation of another great Friday night contest and they were not to be disappointed. BCL controlled the first period and showed good intensity but were unable to get anything past the Hall goalie. Hall showed they were willing to mix it up and pressured BCL in the second period with Hickey making several nice saves. The score remained 0-0 into the third period when Costello scored on an off speed shot from in close. It was Costello's third goal of the season. Hall tied the score at 1-1 with a nice odd man rush leading to overtime. BCL turned up the heat and had the puck in the Hall end for most of the overtime period but was unable to get anything past the Hall goalie, until the final second heroics. Lebreux's overtime goal was the second time he has scored in OT to beat Hall.
BCL Drops Contest with Sheehan BCL and Sheehan battled through the first period to a 0-0 tie. Brett got BCL on the scoreboard with a nice shot that bounced off the goal post and goalie. Tyler was credited with an assist. Sheehan scored two unanswered goals to take the lead. The score remained 2-1 until late in the third period. Sheehan score with less than 5 minutes remaining and added a late open net goal to account for the final 4-1 score. Shane Hickey played a great game and was credited with 47 saves to keep BCL in the game.
BCL wins home opener over Southington BCL pushed their early season record to 2-0 with a 6-2 win over Southington. The home opener was enjoyed by 469 fans, many arriving an hour before game time to ensure entry. While the game was not a sellout it was a great Friday night hockey atmosphere.Brett Nightingale scored his first of the year 3:08 into the first period. Southington countered with an equalizer 23 seconds later. Tim Costello scored BCLs’ second goal at the 7:49 mark and the team never looked back. Nightingale added second and third period goals and Costello netted his second of the night in the second period. Jordan Anderson scored his first of the year to round out the scoring. Somes, Anderson, Lebreux, Froh, Nightingale and Bilodeau assisted on the six goals.

BCL Opens with win over ECC rival St. Bernards BCL opened the '07-'08 season with a hard fought 4-3 win over ECC conference foe St. Bernards. The first period featured a great deal of back and forth action. Shane Hickey made several early saves to keep the score 0-0. BCL got on the scoreboard with two goals from Tyler Somes, the first on an assist from Jordan Anderson. Tim Lebreux scored on a pretty wrap around goal to push the BCL total to 3. St. Bernards scored with a little over 4 minutes left in the game to tie the score at 3. Tim scored his second goal, the game winner, on a beautiful full ice run with just under 2 minutes to play.
