Region I Premier League U18 Boys South - Schedule / Results / Standings

Tuesday, August 2
Fusion U17 Boys Finish 0-3-1 at the Score at the Shore Tournament in Orlando, FL
The Fusion U17 Boys particpated at the Score at the Shore Tournament in Orlando, FL on Jul. 30th thru Aug. 1st. We saw once again that mistakes are punished by our opponents with greater frequency at higher levels of play. The highlight of the Tournament for us was our 1-1 Tie with Silverbacks SC out of Atlanta, GA.

Overall, it was a great experience for the boys (despite the thunderstorms).

This Tournament concludes our 2004-2005 year. On behalf of the Fusion U17 Coaches, congratulations to all of our players for a great year, and a big THANKS to our parents for their support throughout the year.

Good luck to all the boys with their upcoming School season!!!

Fusion U17s Finish 2-1 at the National Soccer Hall of Fame Showcase
The Fusion U17s finished with a 2-1 record at the National Soccer Hall of Fame College Showcase Tournament on Sat. & Sun. July 9th-10th. On Saturday, the boys recorded 2 Wins with identical 3-0 scores against the Syracuse FC U16s and the CT Rockets. On Sunday, the boys came out a little flat and lost 0-2 to the Brampton Bandits, denying us a spot in the Semi-Finals.

Monday, June 6
Fusion U17s Finish 0-2-1 at State Cup Finals
The Fusion U17s started out with a disappointing loss to RSC Express on Saturday, losing 0-1 after giving up a PK in the 2nd half. Sunday morning's game provided evidence that the new State Champs, Buffalo United, were ready to capitalize on any mistakes their opponents made. We didn't play badly, but ended with a 0-3 loss. Sunday afternoon's effort was much better and we ended up with a 1-1 Tie against a disheartened Rochester Jr. Rhinos team.

Congratulations to Buffalo United!!!

Monday, May 30
Fusion U17 s Finish 0-2-1 at Columbia Memorial Day Tournament
The Fusion U17 Boys played fairly well, but the scoreboard showed a 0-2-1 finish. 1 mistake and a questionable PK resulted in an 0-2 loss in our first game. We ran into a couple of incredibly strong, fast forwards in our second game, and with a little misfortune added in we ended with a 1-6 loss. We played well in our last game but didn't finish any of our chances in a 0-0 tie. We definitely learned some things over the weekend that will hopefully make us better prepared for next weekend.

Sunday, May 22
All Fusion at BC United U19 Boys Final
The Fusion U17 and U18 Boys made it to the Championship game at the BC United U19 Boys Tournament this weekend. The U18s ended up on top after converting a PK midway through the 2nd half. A job well done by both teams!

Monday, May 16
Fusion U17s Play Well at Empire Showcase
The Fusion U17s had a chance to Win the Empire Cup Showcase going into the final game Sunday afternoon, needing a Tie or a Win to take 1st place. We scored first against Rochester Jr. Rhinos Premier, playing into the wind, but allowed the equalizer before halftime. We still played pretty well in the second half, but our tired legs didn't get the job done on a couple of occasions as the Rhinos scored on a couple quick counters and built a 3-1 lead. One more goal off a corner kick resulted in a 4-1 final score. Overall, a fine job by our boys.

Saturday, May 7
Fusion U17 Boys Advance to State Cup Finals on June 4th, 5th
The Fusion U17 Boys advanced to the NY West Cup Finals with a 3-0 Win over Syracuse FC in a Playdown game this evening. Congratulations Boys!

Fusion U17 Boys Finish 4-0-0 in WAPS League
The Fusion U17 Boys had an awesome weekend in Wheeling, WV, and finished 4-0-0 in the Region I Western Appalachin U17/18 Boys League.

On Saturday, the boys made it interesing by putting themselves at a 0-1 deficit at halftime in each of their first two games. In the first game against Foothills, the boys came storming back with 3 quick goals from Stefan, Kyle, & Benjie in the first nine minutes of the second half, and held on for a 3-1 Win. In the second game against USC, the boys got the equalizer early in the second half on a laser-beam shot from Scotty from about 30 yards. We took a 2-1 lead a short time later on a nice finish by Kyle, but then we were called for a takedown in the box on a USC cross. USC took advantage and made it 2-2. Our boys were not going to be happy with a draw, and we really pressed hard and finally scored on a beautiful cross & Kyle's header into the back of the net for the game-winner.

The boys came out strong Sunday morning against RSC Express, with numerous missed chances early. Dustin finally converted for us on another good chance for a 1-0 halftime lead. RSC picked up the intensity and we played pretty even until later in the 2nd half when an unlucky RSC defender was called for a handball in the box. Benjie buried the PK, and then the boys protected their lead until the final whistle. The last game of the weekend was just simply a very gutty performance by some tired players. We played pretty even with the Wheeling Eagles until mid-way through the second half when Stefan was taken down in the box after some great work along the endline. Benjie buried his 2nd PK of the day, and the boys held on for a 1-0 Win, finishing 4-0-0 for the weekend.

This effort should earn us a bid to the Region I League for next year, so it was a very worthwhile trip for the Fusion. Great job boys!

MAPS Spring
MAPS Spring Showcase
The BC United Fusion U17 Boys finished in 2nd Place in their group at the MAPS Spring Showcase in Ft. Dix, NJ on March 25th & 26th.

We started the day Saturday with a 0-1 Loss against TBAA Fusion (NJ) - a game that lacked intensity from our side. We did much better later in the day in a rematch from the previous weekend against the Jersy Knights (NJ), and the game ended with a 2-1 Win for the Fusion.

Early Sunday morning we faced the York United North Stars (PAE), and we played well enough to earn a Point with a 1-1 Tie. In our final game we faced Ridley United Soccer Riverplate (PAE). We played most of the first half with no score, but Scotty found the back of the net twice in the last 5 minutes before half-time. Neither team had any great chances in the second half, and we finshed with a 2-0 Win.

We ended up in 2nd Place in the group behind TBAA Fusion. It was a good weekend for the Fusion, but we left thinking that it could have been better...

Spring Warmup
2005 Spring Warmup Tournament
The Fusion U17 Boys got off to a nice start to the 2005 Outdoor season as we made it to the Semi-Finals of the Spring Warmup Tournament hosted by the Ironboung Sport Club in Newark, NJ.

Saturday was a great day as we posted a 1-0 Win over the Jersey Knights Noblemen (NJ), and then played to a scoreless Tie with a very talented Ironbound Sport Club Eagles (NJ) team.

We advanced to the Semi-Finals and faced a tough CAU (NJ) team. Ermin got us on the board early on a breakaway with a clever chip over the GK. CAU responded with a blast from just beyond the corner of the box, just beyond Pete's full extension and into the upper corner of the net. A CAU GK mistake on a shot from Dustin allowed the ball to roll into the net for a 2-1 Fusion lead. With about 5 or 6 minutes left, CAU tied the game on a free kick that found the back of the net just under the crossbar. CAU finally got the game winner in the 2nd sudden-death OT as they beat us on the outside and then found an open player inside the box. It was not a game we "should have" won, but certainly a game we "could have" won. CAU went on to win the Championship with a 3-2 Win over Ironbound.

All in all it was a very good weekend for us, and we're very happy with the results.

Stiff Competition at MAPS
The Fusion U17s saw two very good teams at the MAPS Showcase Tournament this past Saturday.

In the first match, we saw an excellent Ironbound Eagles (SC Portugues) team from New Jersey, and we found ourselves down 0-2 at half after a couple mistakes in our defensive end. We buckled down and played even in the 2nd half and ended with an 0-2 result.

In the second match the Fusion saw a tough Manchester United - World Class team (Connecticut State Champs). We played them pretty tough but the match ended as a 0-1 Loss for the Fusion.

Sunday's schedule was washed out completely, but it was a good Tournament nonetheless.

Predators Unbeaten at Hall of Fame College Showcase
The Predators played well at the Hall of Fame College Showcase and posted 3 Ties, including a thrilling 1-1 Tie with the Syracuse Blitz Santos, one of the best teams in NY West. Although we were unbeaten, 3 points was not enough to advance, so our day ended early on Sunday.

We were a little worried about this Tournament, as there were over 30 teams full of players with aspirations of collegiate soccer, and almost exclusively U17 and U18 players. The boys really responded well to the challenge and we're very proud of the results.

The Predators utilized 6 Guest Players for the Tournament, and we'd like to thank Wes, Travis, Sean, Joe, Ryan, and Tyler for a job well done! Without them we wouldn't have been able to do this Tournament. Thanks guys!

Predators Clinch 3rd Place in UPL
The Predators have secured 3rd place in the UPL U16 Boys Erie Division, behind Buffalo/Niagra Kiss Elite 15s and Rochester FC (1st and 2nd place yet to be determined).

Monday, June 28
Predators Conclude UPL Play with Winning Record
The Predators finished strong, winning 2 of their last 3 games to make it a winning season, concluding Upstate Premier League play with a 4-3-3 record.

On Sunday, the Predators struck first, but allowed the equalizer early in the 2nd half. It looked like the Predators might find themselves with another Tie until about Robbie's flick with the head redirected the ball to the far post and into the back of the net for the game winner with about 5 minutes remaining.

We finished with the same number of losses as last year (only 3), but we gave points away in our 3 tie games, and that was the difference.

We'll have to wait and see how all the other teams finish, but I'm guessing that 4-3-3 should be good enough for 3rd place in our Division.

Great job Predators!

Predators Split Games in Buffalo/Rochester Roadtrip
The Predators came up with a big win on Saturday vs. Buffalo Niagra Kiss Elite 15s, by a score of 2-1. The Predators started strong with probably our best half of soccer this season, scoring 2 beautiful goals and holding a 2-0 halftime lead. We allowed the Kiss to get back in the game however on a poorly defended corner-kick. The boys fought hard and held off the challenge and ended up with several more quality chances in the 2nd half.

The Predators played well against Rochester FC on Sunday, certainly much better than the 0-3 result indicated. RFC scored early with a header off a cross to make it 1-0, and it stayed this way most of the rest of the game. RFC's 2nd goal came off a nice ball played through which our boys assumed to be offsides; WRONG! Boys, we have to play the whistle....... The wind was out of the sails and we gave up another one late in the game.

All in all not a bad weekend as the Predators gained 3 points.

Sunday, June 13
Predators Post Big 3-0 Win
Desperate for some points, the Predators played a great game against Syracuse United and posted a 3-0 Win. The win moves the Predators into 2nd place, but with only 3 games remaining.

The Predators have a big road trip next weekend, visiting Buffalo/Niagra Kiss and Rochester FC.

Friday, June 11
Another Tie........
Despite playing a great 2nd half and creating many chances, the Predators were unable to come up with the game-winner and had to settle for yet another Tie, 1-1, vs. TC United. The Predators are now 1-2-3 in the Upstate Premier League.

Monday, June 7
Predators Enjoy Weekend in Virginia Beach
The Predators enjoyed their weekend in Virginia Beach at the North American Sand Soccer Championships. We won our games Saturday which set up a game between the two unbeatens - the Predators vs. the Cavemen (last year's competitive division winner). The Predators played hard but fell a goal short losing 4-3.

Wednesday, June 2
Predators Get a Good Workout with Our U19 Boys
The Predators scrimmaged our BC United U19 Cup team for about 75 minutes Tuesday night, and the boys got a real good workout.

Good luck to our U19s at State Cup this coming weekend!!!

Predators Finish 1-3 at the 2004 Virginian Cup
The Predators started well with a 2-0 Win Sat. morning, but then lost 0-1 in the afternoon after a free-kick deep in our end resulted in the game's only goal.

Sunday was one of the strangest days we've had in a long time, as we started by allowing a PK on a call that was clearly outside of the box. A beautiful goal by the opposition made it 2-0, and the wind was out of our sails in a hurry. After the referee declared that he didn't care whether we had a GK or not, our attack was pressing but only resulted in allowing 2 more goals on counter-attacks. Final score was 0-4. The consolation game was an ugly affair, but we were moving some players around in some different positions. The 4th game of the weekend is tough when it doesn't mean anything, and I think the final score was 3-5.

Tough weekend on the pitch but we did see some specific things that need work so we did learn something from the experience.

The Championship game was a matchup between BRYC (from our group) vs. Super Nova FC (a team we beat at the MSC March Madness Tournament), with BRYC winning 3-1.

Thanks to the Predator Parents for their support!!!

Monday, May 24
Predators Give One Away.......
The Predators had the better of the play, but we gave this game away. Despite a ton of possession in the final third of the field, the Predators just couldn't find the back of the net. We dug ourselves a hole early by allowing a goal just 3 minutes into the game. The pain continued as we allowed Buffalo/Niagara to score again in the 2nd half on a 60 yard free kick. Final score 0-2.

Sunday, May 23
Rochester FC beat the Predators 2-1
It was a well played game by both sides, but the Predators gave up a PK in the 2nd half that put RFC on the scoreboard first, and they went on to win this match 2-1.

Michael had a great game in goal but injured his foot on the last play of the game. Get well soon Mike!

U16 Boys NY West State Cup - Playdown Game Scores
Scores from the preliminary (playdown) games in the U16 Boys Division:

Rochester Jr. Rhinos advance to Finals with "byes"
Rochester FC 3, Syracuse United 2
RSC Express 3, TC United 1
Rochester FC 3, RSC Express 0 - Rochester FC advances
Greece Cobras 2, Buff/Niag Kiss 1 - Greece Cobras advance
Syracuse Blitz Vipers 1, BC United Predators 0 - Syracuse advances

Saturday, May 15
Vipers Top the Predators 1-0 in Cup Playdown
For the 2nd year in a row, the Predators had the absolute worst result from the Blind Draw out of all 9 teams that entered each year, and had to play the Syracuse Blitz Vipers again, with the winner advancing to the NY West Finals on June 5th and 6th.

It looked like the Predators might duplicate last year's double overtime effort, until about 4 minutes left a Vipers forward found himself on a quick breakaway, and beat a couple Predator defenders including the GK with a great individual play.

The Predators dodged a few bullets along the way prior to the game-winner, but also created some chances themselves and had a couple good opportunities to score first.

All in all, another outstanding showing in Cup competition, and maybe next year we'll find ourselves with an easier path to the Finals. GREAT JOB PREDATORS!!!

Thursday, May 13
Predators Get a Good Work Out
The Predators got a good workout last night in a scrimmage vs. our own BC United Force. Two years difference in age was definitely a factor as we had a tough time dealing with their speed in our defensive end. Hopefully 5 games in a row against U17/U18 teams will have us ready for our Cup Playdown game Saturday.

Sunday, May 9
Predators Play Well in Nice n Easy NY/NY Premier/Showcase
The Predators played very well in the NY/NY Premier U17 Tournament over the weekend. Outside of the 0-4 game vs. the eventual Tournament Champion Syracuse Blitz Santos, the Predators were very competitive with a 1-0 Win over the Pittsford Jayhawks U17s, a 2-2 Tie vs. TC United U17s, and a tough 2-1 Loss against the eventual runner-up York United U17s.

Sunday, May 2
Predators Remain Undefeated with 1-1 Tie
The Predators fought hard to earn another point against a very tough and seemingly much improved RSC Express team. A much different game than the day before as we were outplayed by RSC, providing evidence that we still have a lot of work to do.

All in all, a good weekend for the Predators as we prepare for our playdown game on 5/15.

Saturday, May 1
Predators Come From Behind in 2-2 Tie
The Predators dug themselves an 0-2 hole early in their match with TC United after giving up a PK and an own goal, but bounced back to salvage a 2-2 Tie. A good result with all things considered, including being without two of our top scorers - Ermin & Stefan. Good job Predators!

Sunday, April 25
Predators off to Good Start in UPL after 2-0 Win
Although we had some tired legs with all the Soccer played on Saturday, the Predators played well and posted a 2-0 Shutout Victory over the Syracuse Unite Siege to open our UPL schedule for 2004.

Monday, April 19
Predators Get a Good Workout
The Predators put in some good work on Saturday in some Friendlies vs. our friends from Rochester FC at Alumni Stadium. Both teams were a little short-handed so everyone got a great workout.

Saturday, April 24
All BC United in SUNY 7v7 Championship Game
After a 1-1 Tie in Round-Robin play, the Predators and the Force faced each other again in the Championship game. At the end of regulation it was a 2-2 Tie, and unfortunately neither team could break the Tie in the 5-min. overtime period.

The Force ended up winning in PKs, but it was a good Tournament for the Predators. Good job boys!

Sunday, April 4
Polar Bears Edge Predators 4-3
The Polar Bears scored a last minute goal to edge the Predators in a great game at STSC. The Predators rattled the post numerous times during the match, but ended up on the short side in this game. It doesn't feel so bad knowing that 4 Predators were playing on the Polar Bears side!

Monday, March 29
MSC March Madness
The Predators had a rough day Saturday, but came back and played a great game on Sunday against Supernova FC and finsihed tied in points with 3 of the 4 teams in our Division.

Saturday, March 20
Predators Top the Chargers 3-1
The Predators moved the ball well and scored a 3-1 victory over the Chenango Chargers, moving to 5-0 in League play.

Saturday, March 13
Pre-Season Friendlies Underway
The Predators began their pre-season Friendly schedule on Saturday with matches against Rochester FC and Syracuse United at Alumni Stadium. It was a little chilly out there but definitely worthwhile. Each team was on the field for 160 minutes, and everyone got a great workout.

Saturday, March 6
Predators Tame the Orange Tigers 5-2
It wasn't one of our best efforts, but we played well enough go on to a 5-2 Win and improve our record to 4-0 in STSC League play.

Sunday, February 29
Predators Top Mean Machine 9-3
The Predators handled the Mean Machine in a 9-3 Win, and moved to 3-0 in the STSC Scholastic Men's A Division.

Sunday, February 22
Predators Top Forks 6-2
The Predators played well and moved to 2-0 in Session #2 with a 6-2 Win over Chenango Forks.

Sunday, February 15
Predators Ousted in Tiebreaker
The Predators played well and finished in a 3-way tie for 1st place, but were ousted in an unusual tie-breaker procedure where head-to-head was thrown out but then re-introduced once 1st place was determined. We had plenty of chances to knock TC United out of the Tournament if we had scored 1 more goal in our last game, but couldn't manage to put it away. It was a tough way for it to end especially since it wasn't a true round-robin. Oh well. It was a good tournament though and some good competition.

Saturday, February 14
Predators Fall in Semi-Finals to Blitz Vipers
The Predators played well winning their first two games against the Albany Alleycats and Clifton Park, but then fell to the Blitz Cobras 2-0 in a game that we played better than the score indicated. We met the Blitz Vipers in the Semi-Final. We played well and the game was scoreless midway through, but we ended up on the short side of a 4-2 game.

Sunday, February 8
A Strong Start for the Predators in Session #2
The Predators gave up an early goal but came back strong against the Polar Bears to post a 4-1 Win.

Predators Take 1st & 2nd at BC United U19 Tournament
Both Predators squads played well, and with a little help, both teams ended up in the Championship game. Our teams faced each other in the last regular game. The Gold team was undefeated up to that point, but figured they need a Tie or a Win to avoid possible elimination. The Black team needed the Win to stay alive. The Gold team had things under control with a 2-0 lead, but then the Black team came storming back and finally scored the game-winner with about a minute left for a 3-2 Win. With both teams at 3-1, it looked like there could be a 3-way tie, but a Red Card during the Force-United game contributed to a Tie game, allowing both Predators teams to advance to the Finals. The Black team's momentum continued in the Final as they went on to a 4-2 Win, despite an apparent edge in time of possession to the Gold squad.

Great job to BOTH teams!

Sunday, January 25
Predators Tie for 1st Place in Session 1 Scholastic Mens "A"
The Predators cruised to victory in their final Session 1 League game against Elk Lake Saturday night, and finished Tied for 1st Place with the BC United Force for the League Title, each with a 8-2 record.

Sunday, January 18
Predators Edge Force 4-3
Wow. It was another oustanding soccer game to watch and the outcome could have gone either way. Both BC United teams played very, very well, but a late goal by the Predators broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Predators the Win.

The Predators improved their record to 7-2 and now have a shot at a piece of the League Title.

Great job, boys!

Sunday, January 11
Predators On Top of Their Game in 8-4 Victory
The Predators played well and made this game look easy as they avenged an early season loss to the tough SVE Black squad with an 8-4 victory at STSC. The Predators moved to 6-2 in League play.

Sunday, January 4
Predators Improve Record to 5-2
Thr Predators improved their League record at STSC to 5-2 after a 5-2 Win over SVE Gold on Saturday night.

Wednesday, December 31
Inconsistent Play at STSC
The Predators started off strong last night with a 5-3 Win over the eventual Tournament Champion "Young Boys", but then went somewhat flat as we fell to the "Fuzzy Dead Rabbits" 5-2 in a back-to-back game, and then managed to beat the Falcons 3-0. That set us up for a Semi-Final with TC United. We got beat several times on counter-attacks resulting from poor passes and dropped this one 4-1.

Sunday, December 28
Predators Improve Each Game at SISC
A short-handed and not quite healthy Predator squad had a nightmarish start against the Blitz Cobras, but then re-grouped for a 4-3 Win over Coliseum, and then a very good effort against the Blitz Vipers. The boys responded very well to our discussion after the 1st game, and were much more disciplined defensively. All in all, not a bad day considering the circumstances. The newly renovated SISC facilty is a great place to play, and we'll definitely be back.

Monday, December 22
TC United & BC United Get a Good Workout
The Predators scrimmaged TC United for about 90 minutes today at Cornell University's Bartell Hall. Some great soccer from both sides. Thanks TC United for the invite!

Saturday, December 20
Predators Move to 4-2 in League Play with Win
The Predators played a great game of "positionless" soccer and went on to a 11-3 voctory over SRU. Some great passing and footskills were on display as we created many good scoring chances. Great job, boys!

Sunday, December 14
Predators Cruise to Victory
The Predators played well and cruised to a 10-2 victory over Elk Lake. At the halfway point in League play, the Predators record is 3-2.

Sunday, December 7
The Force Edges the Predators 3-2
The Predators played very well and had many chances but came up 1 goal short as the Force edged the Predators 3-2. It was a very entertaining game between two of our own BC United teams.

Monday, December 1
Another Tough Day at WVSD
The Predators ran into some stiff competition in the U17A Tournament at the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome on Sunday. Both sides of the Mako Premier team, the Rose Tree SC team, and the home WVSD squad played very tough. Although we were clearly outmatched physically, the boys played fairly well and stayed in most of the matches, and earned draws against both Mako and Rose Tree along the way.

It was a good workout for both our teams playing with just 1 sub, and will pay dividends as we move forward.

Predators Drop to 2-1 After Loss to SVE Black
The Predators fell behind early and were unable to get themselves back into this contest. To SVE's credit, they clearly wanted this one more and played very well with lots of enthousiasm and intensity.

Predators Move to 2-0 in League Play
The Predators moved to 2-0 in League play after a 5-1 victory over the SVE Gold squad this past Saturday.

Predators Win 6-4 in STSC Scholastic Division Debut
After digging ourselves a bit of a hole in the first half, the Predators tightened the defense in the 2nd half and held SRU scoreless as we went on to a 6-4 Win in our opening game of the new year. Looking good, boys!

Predators Conclude Successful 2002-2003 Year
The Predators closed out their 2002-2003 year with 3-0 Win against Buffalo Premier and finished in 2nd place with a 7-3 record (tied for 1st in points) in the NY West Upstate Premier League.

It has been a very successful year, as the Predators gained a lot of respect across Central and Western NY with solid showings in the Snickers Competition and the Upstate NY Premier League. The boys have worked very hard and have put their hearts into competing at the Premier level, and the results are definitely starting to show.

We did very well last year in proving that we could play with most of the Premier teams in NY West, but the reality was that we finished (tied) at the bottom of the League in points, and didn't fare well in our Snickers games. This year has been a different story. We got off to a fast start in League play, and the boys quickly realized they could beat just about anybody on any given day if they played well. The boys did a lot of work through the winter on foot skills and improving their overall technical ability, and this really showed on the field as the year went on. It was obvious to our fans (the parents) that the boys were playing with more confidence than they've ever had. Our League started back in the third week of April, and we still had a shot at 1st place going into the final game of the year. 6 shutout victories in 10 games. 1.0 goals against average per game; fewest goals allowed in the League. I'm sure there are people still shaking their head about our 1-0 Double-O/T loss to the Blitz. We've accomplished a lot in the last couple of years.

We also managed to have a lot of fun along the way. Our weekend trips were memorable (as always), and the trip to Virginia Beach for Sand Soccer was an experience we'll never forget.

We'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the parents for your support of the boys and the team. We had a busy year, and probably spent a little more than we had planned, but the entertainment value soared, right?

Great job this past year boys, and we hope to see each and every one of you at tryouts in September!!!

Also, GOOD LUCK to all of our players with their school soccer seasons! I'm confident that the Predators will be making big contributions on the scholastic soccer scene this Fall. Remember - a positive attitude and hard work are the keys to success!

Predators Finish 1st & 2nd in Joe Santacrose 4v4 Tournament
Both Predator teams made it to the Championship game in the U16 Division, and we finished 6-2 for the day with the only losses from games where we played each other.

Our Mom & Pop "Clueless" team validated their team name. As far as I know, everyone is still walking (slowly), and nobody was actually admitted to the hospital (just 1 brief visit). The good news is that we have 12 months to prepare for next year. Ready, go.

Predators Play Well, but Finish 0-3-1 at B.C. Kicks
The Predators played well this past weekend at the BC Kicks Tournament, but finished with a 0-3-1 record.

On Saturday, the Predators and the Jr. Rhinos matched up again just 6 days since their last meeting, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The Predators appeared to have the upper-hand in our 2nd match of the day in terms of time of possession, but we weren't able to find the back of the net and ended up losing 1-0 in a game we clearly could have done better.

On Sunday, it became clear that the Soccer Gods were not with us this weekend as we had 2 own goals in the 1st match (3-1 loss), and then 2 PK's were awarded to the other team in the 2nd match (3-2 loss).

It was a good Tournament for us despite the results, as we played 4 good games against very good competition - right in our own back yard.

Special thanks to Ermin, Scott, & Graham for guest playing with us!!!

Predators Move to 6-3 in UPL with 2-1 Win Over Jr. Rhinos
The Predators found a way once again to pull out a victory in a hard fought game against the Rochester Jr. Rhinos yesterday.

The Rhinos struck first about 25 minutes into the 2nd half with a hard shot off the goal post that took a Rhinos bounce right off our GK and into the net.

Time was winding down and with about 8 minutes remaining Sean got behind a defender on the outside, turned the corner and beat the GK near post with a nifty left-footed shot to tie the game.

Then with about 2 minutes remaining, Sean worked the right side of the field again attacking the end line and sent a beautiful cross just beyond the outstretched arms of the GK's hands and Kyle buried a header for the game winner.

Congratulations boys on a great comeback victory!!!

Predators Pick up 6 Points with Buffalo Road Trip
The Predators added two 1-0 shutout victories in the Upstate Premier League this past weekend in Buffalo, NY.

On Saturday, the Predators faced Riverside for the first time this year. It was a tough defensive battle until midway through the second half when Steve cleared a defender with a nifty flick and then found Kyle making a run forward. Kyle was able to seal off the defender and beat the Keeper with a left-footed shot back to the far post.

On Sunday the Predators faced Buffalo/Niagra for the third time this season, and they were definitely ready to try and avenge the previous two losses. It was another defensive battle but the Predators found the back of the net in the first half on a beautiful corner-kick from Trevor and a textbook header finish from Robbie.

In addition to the great soccer, the team had lots of fun Saturday evening in Niagra Falls, including dinner at Planet Hollywood and hanging out on Clifton Hill.

After 8 league games and a 5-3 record, the Predators still have a shot at the League title with 2 games remaining. Even more remarkable is that all 5 Wins were SHUTOUTS. Great job boys!!!

Sunday, June 15
Slow Start Costly for Predators
The Predators got off to a slow start giving up 3 early goals to Rochester FC. The deficit turned out to be too much to overcome and Rochester FC added 1 second half goal as the Predators dropped to 3-3 in the UPL standings after this 4-2 loss.

Monday, June 9
Predators WIN the U15/U16 Division!!!
The Predators did very well for the first time playing in the sand this past weekend, winning the U15/U16 Division Championship (16 teams) at the North American Sand Soccer Championship Tournament in Virginia Beach.

The Predators actually had 2 teams entered and went a combined 7-1-0 for the weekend. The green squad drew a tough opponent for their very first match in the sand, but improved significantly each game.

Check out the photos by Joe Crossett. Thanks Joe!

Predators Take 2nd Place at AIM Tournament
The Predators played very well this past weekend and captured 2nd Place at the AIM 2003 Memorial Day Weekend Tournament. We were 3-0 through the round-robin play including a big 1-0 Win over a tough Manchester United team from Connecticut. Sunday afternoon the boys played well enough to win our semi-final game to ensure another night at the Hotel (now that's motivation).

We faced Manchester United for a 2nd time in the Championship game. One of their speedy forwards made a nice move and buried a shot for a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. Manchester scored the evantual game-winner when they were able to tuck a rebound into the net midway through the 2nd half.

The Predators still fought hard and finally broke up the shutout on a beautiful left-footed volley by Matt H. with just 2 minutes remaining. Time ran out on us but still a respectable result against a quality team.

Congratulations Predators!

Check out the photos by Joe Crossett. Thanks Joe!

Predators Fall Just Short in Snickers Finals Bid
We all knew that our State Cup "Draw" was just about as bad as it could get, but the Predators fought hard and played even with the 2002 NY West Champs Syracuse Blitz Vipers for a full 110 minutes before finally allowing a goal that sent the Blitz into the State Finals.

The last 2 years we posted scores of 0-5, and 0-7 against the Vipers, despite half-time scores of 0-0 and 0-2. We had played even or close to it in the first half, but then allowed 5 goals in the second half of each game.

The challenge we gave to the boys was to play with them for 80 minutes and give ourselves a chance to win. This was a tall order considering the opponent, but the boys were confident.

Needless to say, the boys stepped up to the challenge and not only played with them for 80 minutes, they did it again for 2 more 15-minute ovetime periods. 110 scoreless minutes against the NYW State Champs until we finally allowed a goal.

This is the first time in five years that we won't be attending the NY West Snickers Finals, but ironically it is the best showing we've ever had in the competition, with our 2-1 1st Round Win over Buffalo/Niagra and then the 0-1 O/T Loss to the Blitz Vipers.

CONGRATULATIONS PREDATORS on an incredible showing in the 2003 NYW Snickers Competition!!!

Predators Pick Up 3 Points in Buffalo/Rochester Road Trip
The Predators continued to play well and picked up 3 more points on a swing through western New York this past weekend.

On Saturday, the Predators faced last year's UPL Champion Buffalo Premier on Grand Island. It was a very exciting game and the Predators finally came up with the game winner as Stefan beat a defender on the outside and placed a nice shot to the far post. A great result against last year's 8-0-2 League Champion.

On Sunday, the Predators went up against a very solid Rochester FC team. The boys again played really well but hit the crossbar/upright 3 times in the first half coming up empty. Rochester FC finally got the counter-atack goal they were looking for late in the first half to take a 1-0 halftime lead. The play was pretty even in the beginning of the second half, but the dark clouds rolled in and play was suspended for about 30 minutes. When play resumed, the Predators took control of the play and really put the pressure on the Rochester FC defense for the last 20 minutes. However, the defense held as the Predators could not come up with the equalizer before time expired.

A very good weekend for the boys overall.

The Predators are now 3-2 in League play (with 9 points) and on top of the standings currently (although we have several more games played). We're only halfway through the schedule and we've already surpassed last year's point total (8). Our defense is really doing a great job and the boys are playing with a lot of confidence. Last year it seemed that we were content to be participating in the League. This year, the boys are playing like they want and expect to win each and every game.

Keep up the good work boys!

Fresher Legs Prevail in 4-1 League Loss
After playing 110 minutes in our Playdown game, we had nothing left in the tank for our 2nd game of the day and the TC United Azzuri pulled away for a 4-1 Win over the Predators.

Robbie prevented the shutout by cracking a 40 yard shot that deflected off the GK's hands into the top of the net.

The Predators played 4 games between Thursday and Sunday, and won 3 of 4 including our Snickers Playdown game. Great job boys!!!

Sunday, May 4
Predators Advance to 2nd Round of Snickers Cup
The Predators advanced to the 2nd round of the NYSW Snickers Cup competition with a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory over the Buffalo/Niagra Kiss on Sunday.

It looked like the Predators had scored the game winner with under 5 minutes to play in regulation time, but a PK was awarded to the Kiss on a questionable call and they buried it for the equalizer.

The Predators attacked hard during the first the overtime period and finally Stefan found the back of the net for the game-winner with a pretty left-footed volley over over the Goalkeeper's outstretched arms.

In the 2nd round, the Predators will face last year's State Champs, the Syracuse Blitz Vipers. It will be a tough challenge for sure, but we'll give it our best shot. And remember - ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!

CONGRATULATIONS to the boys for making it to the "Final Five" within New York State West!!!

Predators Move to 2-0 in UPL with Win over Buffalo/Niagra
The Predators played a great game and scored once in each half for a 2-0 Win over the visiting Buffalo/Niagra Kiss.

With under 10 minutes to play in the first half, Steve played a hard ball on the ground to the far post which Stefan was able to one touch into the back of the net.

Late in the second half, Stefan worked his way behind the Kiss defense again and beat the GK with a nicely placed ball for our 2nd goal of the day.

NY West Snickers Cup U15 Boys Bracket:

Predators Begin Upstate Premier League Play with 1-0 Win
The Predators played well, especially in the first half, and hung on for a 1-0 victory to start UPL play for 2003. The TC United Azzurri battled hard throughout the 2nd half but couldn't come up with the equalizer before time expired.

Steve had an awesome header that found the side netting midway through the 1st half for the only goal of the game. Mike played a great game in the net for us and made several big saves in the 2nd half to help secure the Win.

Predators Hang Tough in 3, 1-Goal Losses at PWSI
It was an interesting weekend for the Predators. Friday evening at registration turned out to be a circus, as the PWSI folks scrambled to deal with cancellation of most of their fields due to heavy rain the day before. Some teams were told to go home, but the Predators did get 3 30-min. games on the schedule.

We had beautiful weather Saturday and Sunday, and the Predators played pretty well despite not having many of our players with us. We ended up losing all 3 games by the score of 1-0. It would have been nice to score, but we came very close on a few occasions.

Here's the "glass is half-full" view (Gene...) - if you're going to lose 3 games, you can't do any better than allowing only 3 goals. Our team defense was fairly solid, and we broke up many chances created by our opponents. Not a bad outing for our 1st time outdoors. Good job boys! Parents - thanks for your support. Not exactly what we had in mind, but hope you enjoyed the weekend.

Predators Still Looking for Additional Players....
The Predators have 17 players rostered right now, and we are still looking for interested players to roster or use as guest players for upcoming tournaments.

Predators Take 1st Place in 2/22 BC United U16 Tournament
It was another Division full of close games, but again the Predators played well enough to take 1st Place. It was a tough Division with the Two Rivers Thunder, the Latham Circle team, and some inspired play from our own Team United. We saved our best game of the day for the Championship game, which was extremely well played and very enjoyable to watch.

Another successful weekend - great job to all our boys!!!

Saturday, February 22
Predators Take 1st Place in 2/22 BC United U15 Tournament
It wasn't easy, but the Predators played well enough to capture 1st place at the BC United U15 Tournament. We had a tough time finding the net and some scrappy play from our opponents in this division made us work hard to capture the title.

Saturday, February 15
Predators Finish 1-2-1 at SISC U15A Tournament
It was a day full of strange scores at the Syracuse Indoor Soccer Center's U15A Boys Tournament. This was clearly the strongest field of teams we've seen thus far this season, as 3 of the teams were from State Championship squads and the other team a fellow member of NY West's Upstate Premier League.

The Predators started off with a fairly well played game vs Oakwood SC (CT State Champs), but fell 0-5 in a game that we played better than the score indicated. Next up was the Syracuse Blitz Vipers (NYW State Champs) Yellow squad, and the Predators fought hard to a 2-2 Tie. Our 3rd game was with the Vipers Red team, and this was one of those games you'd like to forget about. Everything that could go wrong did, and the game ended in a 8-0 Win for the Vipers. Our last game was against our UPL rival Rochester FC, and we put together a good effort to end the day on a positive note with a 6-3 Win.

Strangely enough, the Vipers Yellow squad beat the Vipers Red squad 5-3 for the Championship. At the end of the day the scoreboard was full of unpredictable scores, and proved once again that anything can happen, especially in short indoor games.

All in all, a good day for the Predators against outstanding competition. Great job boys!

Sunday, February 9
Predators Take 1st Place in 2/09 U16 BCC Tournament
In very similar fashion to the day before, the Predators played some great soccer and were unbeaten through 4 games, including an exciting 0-0 Tie against a solid SRU team.

In the Championship game, the Predators struck first and held an early 1-0 advantage. The SRU squad came back strong with two goals to take a 2-1 lead, and it appeared that time was running out on the Predators.

The boys hung tough and kept playing hard and we finally came up with the equalizer with less than 2 minutes left as Steve found the back of the net with a short-range blast.

In our 2nd sudden death overtime of the weekend, the Predators came out strong but showed a little impatience with our shot selection in the first couple of minutes. We settled down and finally put together some strong attacks, culminating in a beautiful toe-poke goal off Stefan's boot for the game winner.

Congratulations to all the boys for a great weekend!

Saturday, February 8
Predators Take 1st Place in 2/08 U16 BCC Tournament
The Predators played well in their first match against a tough Two Rivers team, and played to a 1-1 Tie. We remained unbeaten through the next 3 games and advanced to the Final despite posting a 2nd Tie against the BC United Raptors.

The Championship game was very exciting and well played by both sides, and remained scoreless at the end of regulation time. After pulling the Goalkeepers to begin the sudden death overtime, the Predators forced play into the Two Rivers defensive end until Matt H. found the back of the net with the game winner.

Good job, boys!

Sunday, February 2
Predators Finish 10-0 in STSC U16 Boys Session 1
The Predators played a mediocre first half and were able to tie the game at 1-1 before half-time after falling behind 1-0 early in the match.

The boys came out strong in the 2nd half, picking up the intensity level with more pressure on the ball, helping to set up 3 second half goals en-route to a 4-1 victory over the BT Pumas.

The Predators finished a perfect 10-0 and U16 Boys Division Champions for STSC Session 1. Congratulations Boys!

Saturday, February 1
Predators Play 160 Minutes of 11v11
The Predators got a great workout at the Pathfinder Community Sports Complex in Oswego on Saturday Feb. 1st. We played four 40-minute games against Rochester FC, Oswego St./Blitz Girls, Buffalo Premier, and the Salt City Raptors. The boys did quite well for our first time out full-field and we finished 3-1-0 on the day.

Saturday, January 25
Predators Move to 9-0, Clinch 1st Place in STSC U16 League
The Predators played well in both games and moved to a record of 9-0 in the STSC Session 1 U16 League. In the first game the Predators moved the ball well and had a very balanced attack throughout the game ending with a 9-0 victory against the scrappy State Line squad. The second game saw the Predators strike first and then give up 2 quick goals, giving up the lead just as we did in the last match vs. the Empire team. The Predators re-grouped to make it 4-2 at halftime and 7-2 at the final buzzer.

Sunday, January 19
Predators Have Rough Day at Two Rivers Tournament
First two games were fine but the next two got progressively worse as the Predators failed to advance to the Championship Match.

Saturday, January 18
Predators Finish 3-2-0 in 1/18 WVSD U15 Tournament
The Predators played pretty well in 4 of 5 matches and ended up losing 2-1 in our 2nd playoff game against a tough Valley SC team. Another good day at WVSD playing against some very good teams.

Saturday, January 11
Predators Finish Strong for a 4-3 Win over Pumas
The Predators struck first for a 1-0 lead, but the Pumas fought back hard and made it a 3-1 game in their favor at the half. Our boys knew we were creating a lot of scoring chances and that we just needed to keep our composure and keep working hard. The Predators did just that and played a solid 2nd half coming back for a 4-3 Win.

The Predators are now 7-0 in STSC League play.

Saturday, January 11
Predators Pull Away in 2nd Half for 7-4 Win
The Predators started strong building a 3-goal lead early in the match, but then allowed Empire back in the game by giving up 3 quick goals in a 2 minute span just before halftime. The boys re-grouped and played a solid 2nd half pulling away for a 7-4 Win.

Monday, December 29
Predators Gold & Black Play Well in WVSD U16 Tournament
The Predators took 2 squads to the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome on 12/29, and both teams played very well against some stiff competition.

The Gold team won their first game and then lost 2 1-goal games and a 2-goal game against some very good teams. The Gold team had 9 goals for and 9 against for the day.

The Black team finished with 1 Win and 2 Ties, including a Tie against the eventual #1 seed WVSD U16s. The Black team also won their 1st playoff game 4-0, but then ran into a very solid FC Bucks team and fell 4-1, finishing with 10 goals for and 12 goals against for the tournament.

A good day for all the boys that participated (including guests Kyle & Tyler). Great job!

Friday, December 27
Predators Gold take 1st Place at Joe Santacrose Memorial
Both Predators teams (Gold & Black) played well, but the Gold team avenged an earlier defeat vs. Two Rivers to capture 1st place as they posted a 2-1 victory in the Championship Match.

After a slow start in their 1st match, the Predators Black team came back strong to post an impressive victory over JC, then played a very tough match against Two Rivers but came up 1 goal short in a 2-1 loss.

The Predators Gold team gave up an early goal to Two Rivers in the Championship match, but kept working hard throughout the contest and finally avoided overtime by sticking in the eventual game winner with under 3 minutes remaining.

Thanks to Tyler and Justin for guest playing with the Black team.

All the boys did a great job!

Saturday, December 21
Predators Move to 5-0 in STSC League Play
Well, it wasn't pretty, but the Predators improved their record to 5-0 in STSC League play with a 5-3 win over the Raptors.

Sunday, December 15
Predators Finish 2nd at WVSD
The Predators had a great day (finally) at the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome on Dec. 15th. We were unbeaten through the preliminary games (allowing only 1 goal), and then won the Semi-Final against a tough Wyoming Valley team 4-1. We ran into a very strong Stroudsburg team in the Final and ended up on the short side of a 4-1 Stroudsburg win. Overall, a very strong showing for the Predators. Great job boys!!!

Saturday, December 14
Predators Remain Unbeaten at STSC with 7-0 Win
The Predators continued their winning ways at the Sports Center with a 7-0 (I think) win over the BT Pumas, improving our League record to 4-0.

The Predators played well and moved to 3-0 in the League with a 5-1 victory over the State Line Falcons.

Monday, December 2
Predators Fall in Semi-Final
The Predators played well in the Wyoming Valley U15 Boys Tournament, but lost 3-2 in the Semi-Final for their 3rd 1-goal loss of the day. We enjoyed the competition provided by the Wyoming Valley Soccer Club's team as we seem to be pretty evenly matched.

Monday, November 25
Predators Move to 2-0 in League Play
It took a couple minutes to get the motor runnning, but the Predators finally put it in gear and cruised to a 9-0 (?) victory.

Wednesday, November 13
Predators Begin Indoor League Play with 8-1 Win
The Predators kicked off the Indoor season this past Saturday at the new Southern Tier Sports Center and posted our first "W" of the new year. The Predators and the Raptors played pretty even in the first 25 minutes, but the Predators came on strong in the 2nd half and went on to a 8-1 victory.

Predators Conclude Successful 2001-2002 Year

The Predators recently concluded a very successful 2001-2002 year. This past year was particulary challenging because of our decision to compete at the Premier level. "Success" to the Predators is not measured by Wins and Losses, but rather by our improvement as players and as a team. After all, Wins and Losses are simply a measurement of our performance against competition of our choosing.

We are absolutely thrilled with our performance in the NYSW Upstate Premier League! We finished with a 2-6-2 record, but this doesn't tell the whole story. In addition to our 2 Wins and 2 Ties, 3 of our Losses were by 1 goal! We proved we can play at this level and be competitive. Our skills have grown significantly as we were constantly challenged by increased pressure - tighter space and less time to execute and make decisions. Best of all, we've been able to achieve this without undue sacrifice in terms of time away from family & friends, financial burden, academics, or expecting our players to give up balance in their lives.

The skills & experience that our players gained this past year will surely be evident this Fall on the scholastic soccer fields. We wish all of our players a successful school soccer season, and we look forward to seeing them all again very soon.

On behalf of the Predators Coaching Staff, Congratulations to all of the Predator players on a job well done this past year!

Predators Pick Up Another UPL Win
The Predators closed out the 2001-2002 year with 2 League games in Rochester this past weekend.

On Saturday, the Predators earned a hard fought 2-1 victory over the Rochester Jr. Rhinos. The Jr. Rhinos had the better of the play, but the Predators converted on 2 of their chances, including 1 Penalty Kick, to secure the victory. On Saturday evening, the team visited "Soccer Sam's", a popular local resaurant with a soccer theme.

On Sunday, the Predators were down only 1-0 at half, but then quickly faded in the heat with only 1 sub, as Rochester FC went on to a 4-0 Win.

Final League Standings

Complete Schedule & Scores

Friday, July 12
Salt City Comes Back Strong for 4-2 Win
The Predators gave up an early goal, but stormed back for a 2-1 halftime lead. Salt City put the pressure on in the 2nd half and ended up scoring 3 goals as the Predators again had difficulty clearing loose balls out of the penalty area.

Monday, June 24
Jr. Rhinos Strike Twice in 2nd Half for 2-0 Win
The Predators played a good game and created many chances, but it wasn't our day as all our shots went just wide or over the top. The Jr. Rhinos scored early in the 2nd half after the Predators failed to clear a ball out of the penalty area. Later in the half, a nice through ball played back to the weak side found an un-marked Jr. Rhino attacker who chipped the ball over our charging goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Monday, June 17
Predators Lose 1-0 to #3 Ranked Team in NY West
The Predators played tough in soggy conditions at Linares Field in Syracuse but gave up a late goal in a 1-0 loss to the #3 ranked Buffalo Premier FC.

Buffalo Premier had the better of the play, but the Predators hung tough deep into the second half of a scoreless game. With just over 2 minutes remaining, a Buffalo Premier player took a pass wide into the final third, cut back inside and blasted a left-footed shot back to the far post for the game-winner.

A very respectable result for the Predators. Good job boys!

Monday, June 3

Predators Put Another UPL Point on the Board with 0-0 Tie
The Predators played solid defensively but couldn't put together enough scoring chances in a 0-0 Tie against RSC Express.

Saturday, May 18
Predators Advance To Snickers Cup Finals
The Predators advanced to the Snickers State Cup Finals for the 4th consecutive year after outlasting the CNY Siege in penalty Kicks 4-2.

Predators Play Well Despite 4th Place Finish
Despite a 4th place finish, the Predators playes pretty well in the BC United Spring Challenge.

It was tough getting the motor running early Saturday morning after our tough Friday night game. We dug ourselves an 0-2 hole in the first half against Greece, but stormed back to come away with a 2-2 tie.

Next we faced CNY, and despite controlling the majority of play, we gave up a corner-kick goal and 2 more on counter-attacks on our way to a diappointing 3-1 loss.

We then had to play our 4th game within 26 hours, and neither the Predators nor the Raptors could find a way to score in a 0-0 tie.

In the consolation game Sunday, the Predators and the Raptors still couldn't put the ball in the back of the net, until a Predator "own-goal" finally broke the scoreless streak.

Tough tournament, but the boys did play much better than the result showed.

Predators Have Tough Break in 3-2 Loss
Another tough "break" for the Predators as we lost a 2nd player for the season. Midway through the 2nd half, Trevor was running on to a ball played over the top and collided with the Buffalo/Niagra Goalkeeper. There was no doubt that Trevor's leg was broken, and the game was delayed while waiting for the ambulance.

When the game resumed, the Predators charged back and tied the game at 2-2. However, much like the RSC Express game, we gave up a last minute goal and suffered another 1-goal defeat to Buffalo/Niagra.

Predators Earn 1st UPL Win!!!
The Predators played a great game against the always tough Salt City Raptors on Friday 4/26, and came away with their very 1st UPL Win!!! The Predators scored in the 1st half on a corner kick, and then added another goal in the 2nd half to go on to a 2-0 victory.

The Predators and the Raptors had another match scheduled for Sunday 4/28, but Thunderstorms prevented us from playing. The team did enjoy a great meal at the Dinasaur BBQ though.

After 3 games, the Predators are 1-1-1, with 5 goals for, 4 against. Great job boys, and keep working hard!

Predators Kick Off UPL Schedule with Road Trip to Buffalo
The Predators kicked off their UPL schedule the weekend of 4/20 & 4/21 with 2 games in Buffalo, NY.

Saturday's game was against Buffalo/Niagra Kiss. The Predators had a 2-1 lead in the 2nd half before Buffalo/Niagra stormed back for a 3-2 win.

The team spent the rest of the day Saturday in Niagra Falls on the Canadian side. We all had a great time, as we were able to walk to the Falls and do the Maid of the Mist boat ride and then had our team dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.

We played another good game Sunday against RSC Express. Although there was no score through most of the game, both teams managed to score in the last minute or so, and it ended in a 1-1 Tie. As a result, the Predators came away with their first "Point" of UPL competition, so we're on the board!

Great job boys, and "thanks" to all the parents for your support!

Predators Participate in "Friendlies" at CSC on 4/13
The Predators played 2 more "Friendlies" at the Community Sports Complex near Oswego, NY on April 13th. We played 1 match with the Salt City Raptors and 1 match with Rochester FC. These matches were great tune-ups for our upcoming UPL games. We played pretty well and came away with 1 Tie.

PWSI Small
Predators Compete in the PWSI Icebreaker 2002 Tournament
The Predators recently competed in the PWSI Icebreaker 2002 Tournament. The U14 Boys group consisted of 36 teams divided into 5 seperate Flights - Premier 1, Premier 2, Premier 3, Classic 1, and Classic 2.

The Predators were placed in the Premier 1 Flight - a tough place to be for our very first Premier level tournament.

Our boys responded very well and played very tough 2 out of the 3 games. It appeared that we spent ourselves Saturday morning in our game vs. the Bethesda Legend (eventual Runner-Up in the Premier 1 Flight), as we gave up 1 corner-kick goal and a breakaway goal in a 2-0 loss.

The afternoon game slipped away early and it became obvious to all that the boys were physically and emotionally spent from the morning game.

The boys re-grouped and played a great game Sunday morning against the Century V Bulldogs from Pittsburgh. We gave up a very early goal on a 30 yard blast to the upper corner, and then another corner-kick goal early in the 2nd half. Our boys seemed to take control of the game later in the 2nd half, and we finally scored with just over 4 minutes remaining. We continued to create some chances, but the game ended 2-1.

Overall, it was a good weekend for the Predators. We had lots of fun and the weather cooperated very nicely.

Good job boys!

Predators Gold Team Finishes 2nd at BC United Tournament
After winning 3 straight games, the Gold team finally lost in the Championship 2-1 to our favorite opponent - ourselves!

The Gold squad had an exciting 3rd game against our own BC United Raptors team. With the game tied 2-2, we caught a break when an apparent hand ball was not called. We immediately came down the field and buried the game-winner with seconds remaining in the game.

Predators Finish 0-2-1 at WVSD U14 Tournament on 2/16
Another tough day for the Predators at the Wyoming Valley Soccer Dome. Faced some very good teams (again)!

Predators Finish 3rd in Broome County Spring League
The Predators recently completed their Broome County Spring League schedule, and finished in 3rd place behind Hiawatha and Chenango. It turned out to be a very competitive division, with many 1-goal games among the top 6 teams in the league.

Predators Finish 2-1 at Hershey's Chocolate Kicks Tournament
The Predators had a great time at Hershey Park on Friday, and then played very well in the Hershey Chocolate Kicks Tournament, finishing with 2 Wins and 1 Loss.

Our only loss (2-1) came against a strong Premier team (Super Novas) from the Harrisburg area, which prevented us from advancing to the Championship game.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!    Parents - thanks for your support!

Predators Finish in 4th Place at Snickers Cup Finals

The Predators played against some of the best teams in the State on June 2nd and 3rd at the New York State West Snickers Cup Finals in Binghamton. The Predators finished with a 0-3-0 record and finished 4th behind the Syracuse Blitz Vipers, the Rochester Junior Rhinos and Buffalo Premier.

Although we didn't come away with any Wins, we did play some good soccer for extended periods during the games. Half-time scores were 1-1, 0-2 (2nd goal with 5 seconds before half-time), and 0-0.

Predator players - please click here for more thoughts on our 2001 Snickers State Cup experience.

Predators Win 1st Place at Manalapan Memorial Day Tournament

Manalapan 1st Place

Great job boys!

Predators Advance to New York State West Finals!
The Predators outscored the CNY Siege 5-2 over our 2-game playdown to advance to the New York State West Snickers State Cup Finals for the 3rd consecutive year!

Predators Finish 1-1-1 in BC United Tournament

The Predators played fairly well and finished 1-1-1 in the BC United Tournament on May 5th and 6th.

We started off with a 1-0 victory over TC United despite controlling the play and creating a lot of good scoring opportunities. The Salt City Raptors scored 2 quick goals on us early in the 2nd game, and they went on to a 4-0 victory. We played well in our 3rd and final game against the Greece Cobras, but the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

The competition was tough, and we feel pretty good about the result for our 1st tournament. We're proud of all 18 of our players.

Predators Complete Busy Indoor Soccer Season
The Predators recently completed their indoor soccer season (finally!).

We competed in 4 leagues and we entered teams in 12 tournaments.

Predators Finish in 1st Place at Family Sports Palace
The Predators finished in 1st place in the Family Sports Palace Session 2 U14 Division with a 9-1 record.

Good job boys!

Predators Finish SISC Session 2 with 2-6-2 Record
The Predators finished the SISC Session 2 league with a record of 2-6-2. As expected, this session was even more competitive than Session 1, and we played pretty well against veery good competition throughout the session.

2nd Half Action from the 4/8 "Friendly"
Predators Play "Friendly" Match with Salt City Raptors
It was a beautiful afternoon for soccer and it was great to be playing outdoors again after a long winter.

The Predators and the Raptors played 2, 35-minute halfs, and all the boys worked very hard. Both teams are preparing for the Snickers NYSW Competition - hoping to get through Playdown games and make it to the Finals in Binghamton the 1st weekend in June. This was a great opportunity for us to experience match conditions early in the pre-season against one of the best teams in the state.

Thanks to all the Raptor folks for making the trip!!!

Predators Make Semi-Finals in 3/11 Wilkes Barre Tournament
The Predators got off to a slow start, but improved each game and ended up losing in the Semi-Finals 2-1.

Predators Black Takes 2nd at 3/03 BCC U14 Tournament
The Predators Black team finished in 1st place after the preliminary games, but lost in the championship game to the tough SCSC U14s, finishing in 2nd place for the day.

Predators Gold Plays Well in 3/03 BCC U14 Tournament
The Predators Gold team played well and finished in a tie for 2nd place after the preliminary games, but was knocked out on the tiebreakers. It seemed that the Gold squad drew the tougher schedule, and I'm told the boys played very well.

Predators Take 2nd at 2/25 BC United U14 Div. 2 Tournament
The Predator's Black team played very well and finished in 2nd place just behind the SRU Sharks.

Predators Take 2nd at 2/25 BC United U14 Div. 1 Tournament
The Predators Gold team played well enough to place 2nd at the BC United U14 Division 1 tournament at the UE High School on 2/25.

Predators Make Semi-Finals in 2/23 CNY U14 Tournament
The Predators played their best tournament so far, posting 3 consecutive shutout victories to take 1st place in their division. This was quite an accomplishment because we saw 2 very good U13 teams - the Rochester Junior Rhinos and the Albany Alleycats.

We also played well in the Semi-Final, but didn't capitalize on numerous opportunities against a good U14 Utica Rhino team.

We're very proud of our showing at this tournament. The boys did a great job, and it's nice to see all the hard work paying off.

Excellent job boys!

Predators Complete Busy Indoor Session 1
The Predators recently completed the Indoor Session 1 season. We played 21 regular league games, 3 league playoff games, and 28 tournament games - all of which was in non-gym facilities. Lots of quality match-condition experience!

Predators Win Playoff Championship at SISC Session 1

The Predators recently completed Session 1 in the U14 Boys "A" Division at the Syracuse Indoor Soccer Center with a 9-2 record for regular league games - finishing in 1st Place, and we also won the round-robin playoff championship with a 2-0-1 mark. Congratulations boys!

The Predators played very well throughout the league, and we're very happy with the level of play in this division.

A special "thanks" to the parents for making the commitment to drive to Syracuse to seek out this level of competition.

We look forward to an even more competitive Session 2!

Predators Record for SISC U14 Boys "A" Division - Session 1:

Predators Complete Family Sports Palace U14 Boys Session 1

The Predators completed Session 1 at the Family Sports Palace in the U14 Boys Division with a 6-4 record, finishing in 3rd place behind Soaring Capital and SRU. We lost 3 close games to the U14 teams, who were especially hard to handle in the tight space at the Palace.

Predators Record for FSP U14 Boys Division - Session 1:

Predators Take 2nd at 1/07 Ithaca U14 Tournament at Cornell
The Predators played well in this tournament, going 4-0 before reaching the Finals. Although the 2-1 loss in the Final was somewhat disappointing, we did play well and were very creative on the attack throughout the day.

Predators Make Semi-Finals in 12/30 CNY U13 Tournament
The Predators played pretty well in the 12/30 U13 Tournament at CNY. We won 2 of 3 preliminary games to secure a spot in the Semi-Finals. We ended up losing 2 games this day - both of them to the tough Salt City Raptors (3-2, 4-0). Good job boys.

Predators Play Well in the 12/28 SISC U13 "A" Tournament
This was a good tournament for the Predators - getting the opportunity to play against last year's U12 Boys State Champions 3 times! We also got a chance to play last year's U12 Girls State Champions.

It's not often that you get to play against State Champions in EVERY game in a tournament.

Our boys did a very good job and we definitely learned a few things by playing in this tournament.

Predators Take 2nd (Again) at 12/17 WVSD U13
Inconsistent play was the story again at the 12/17 WVSD U13 "A" Tournament.

We played reasonably well in 4 out of 5 games, but we had 1 pretty awful game. We played our best soccer in the playoffs as we ended with another 2nd place finish.

Predators Take 2nd Place at 12/09 WVSD U13
The Predators had a slow start this past Saturday at the WVSD U13 Boys tournament, but we did manage to put a few good games together culminating in a big victory in the playoffs against the #1 seed.

We were real flat in our first game losing 4-0 to the Covington Blue team. We played much better the second game, but lost the game 3-0 after essentially making the same mistake 3 times. We improved again with a 1-1 Tie against the eventual #2 seed, and we definitely had chances to win that game.

As the #4 seed going into the playoffs, we had a tough assignment with the #1 seed Covington White team. We played them tough (despite the 3-0 loss the first time we saw them) and played our best game of the day, coming away with a big 4-2 Win which put us into the Championship game.

Unfortunately the Championship game was over early as the Covington Blue team came out strong and took a quick lead and never looked back. The wind came out of our sails early, and we weren't able to put anything together for the remainder of the game. I lost track of the score - I'm guessing 8-1.

Overall it was a good day; the boys came home with our first awards of the new year.

Predators Finish with 1 Win @ 11/26 WVSD U14
The Predators played 2 good games out of 4 at the U14 WVSD tournament on 11/26. We beat a tough West Shore team 1-0 to start the day. We lost our 2nd and 3rd games by good margins, mainly due to some tentative play in our defensive end and difficulties in distributing balls to start our attack. We ended up as the #4 seed going into the playoffs (out of 7 teams), and then lost a tough game to West Shore 2-0. West Shore proceeded to march into the Championship game and ended up losing to FC Broome in overtime.

Overall, not a bad day for a U14 Tournament. Keep working hard boys!

Good luck to all the boys with their school soccer season!

Vestal Fall SoccerFest Tournament
The Predators finished 1-2-1 in their final outdoor tournament of the year. As usual, the tournament included good competition. Although we played reasonably well, we weren't able to create many good scoring opportunities.

Olympic Development Program - Open Tryouts
The New York State West Olympic Development Program (ODP) will hold open tryouts for '87 and '88 Boys (born in 1987, 1988) on separate dates in October at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York. Check out the "Calendar" for more details.

Predator's 2000-2001 Season
The Predators held tryouts for the 2000-2001 season on September 10th. Our roster is now set. Thanks to all the boys who participated in our tryout - everyone worked very hard.

Chili C. Columbus Soccer Tournament
The Predators played fairly well and had lots of fun this past weekend at the Chili C. Columbus Tournament. We ended up losing a couple games that we probably could have won, but that's the way this game goes. The home team Chili Chaos took 1st place.

The boys had lots of fun at the "Holidome" and had a chance to sharpen their skills prior to the School season.

We had a great year, and we look forward to an even better year to come!!!

Predators Conclude Spring Soccer Season
The Predators just concluded their Spring soccer season, finishing with a 17-5-3 record. The only teams that got the best of us this season were 4 out of town teams - Syracuse Blitz Vipers, Buffalo FC, Salt City (Syracuse) Raptors, and the Clifton (NJ) Stallions. The Predators played 25 games this Spring season, 7 of which were against Premier teams (5-2-0). The Predators averaged 3.76 goals per game, while allowing only 1.56 goals per game. The Predators also recorded 7 shutout victories.

Our complete Spring Season record:

Predators Finish Spring League with 4-1-3 Record
The Predators finished their Broome County Spring League schedule with a 4-1-3 record. 3 ties and a 1-goal loss left us with a 3rd place finish behind CNY and Hiawatha.

Considering the Little League schedule for most of our players and the unexpected Frost Valley "bug", we did about as well as could be expected.

Predators Take 3rd Place at Snickers State Finals
The Predators beat the Rochester Junior Rhinos 1-0 and came within a goal of last year's Champion (Buffalo FC), demonstrating that they can compete at the highest level of play in the State.

Year to year, the Predators showed significant improvement, coming up with 3 "firsts" at the State Finals. The Predators scored their 1st goal (actually 5 total), posted their 1st Win, and also their 1st Shutout.

We finished in 3rd place, ahead of last year's Runner-Up (Rochester Junior Rhinos), which in itself was a big accomplishment.

Congratulations boys!!!

Predators Take 2nd at Manalapan Tournament
The Predators won 3 out of 4 games and took 2nd Place at the Manalapan Memorial Day Tournament. I think all of us had a lot of fun, and even the weather cooperated.

I'm sure the Predators (and the "Wild Things") will never forget that weekend!

Predators Advance to State Finals
The Predators won their 2nd playdown game against the FC Broome Pumas 6-1, and will advance to the New York State West Finals in Binghamton on June 3rd and 4th.

Predators Win State Cup Playdown Game 6-0
The Predators won the first of their two State Cup Playdown games against the FC Broome Pumas by a score of 6-0 Tuesday evening.

The second game is scheduled for Friday evening at the BC United Fields at 5:45PM.

Predators Take 3rd at the BC United Tournament
Although the Predators only lost 1 game to the tough Salt City Raptors, we ended up taking 3rd place out of the 7 teams. We seemed to play better every game, so it was a very good weekend for us.

Predators take 1st at the Vestal Caroussel Classic
The Predators won their first outdoor tournament this past weekend at the Vestal Caroussel Classic. We posted an impressive 4-0 record, scoring 21 goals while allowing 6.
