Association Inducts 2014 Hall Of Fame Class

        The Bound Brook High School Alumni Association will honor some of the school’s most outstanding alumni in their Hall of Fame induction ceremony to be held on October 5, 2014. Outstanding alumni and staff, as well as a State Championship football team, will be recognized for their contributions to the school, and for the honor they have brought to the Bound Brook High School community, both while in school and during their chosen careers.
        This year the Bound Brook Alumni Association has selected the following alumni to be honored in the Lifetime Achievement category, for their accomplishments and awards earned following their Bound Brook High School graduation: Dr. James Bell Class of 1960; a leader in the computer industry, spending the past 34 years with Hewlett Packard, and is presently The Director of Industry Standards, responsible for leading more than 500 people from across HP’s businesses: Mary Ann Rohrhurst Peter, Class of 1958, retired nursing professional as a clinician, educator, administrator, and author with numerous publications and articles about all aspects of the nursing profession. Alan B. Beatty, Class of 1965, dedicated, longtime Bound Brook youth activities volunteer and activist, award winning Bound Brook Pop Warner football coach and administrator, recreation baseball, basketball, and softball leagues director and coach, community Director of Recreation, BBHS football coach, and Who’s Who in America, educator; and Eric Vowinkel, PhD., Class of 1971, Hydrologist with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS,) Drinking Water Quality Specialist and Liaison to UMDNJ for the USGS and US Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2, Co-Chair of the Board of the National Water Quality Monitoring Council. Also, former staff members Joseph Donnelly, a teacher, a founding director of the BB Adult School, and High School Principal who dedicated over 35 years of service to the BB District will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame posthumously, and Anthony Kruzel in recognition of his 27 years of excellence as a teacher, advisor, coach, and school leader will be honored at the same time.

        The Athletic Achievement section of the Hall of Fame will honor the following alumni for their contributions while performing for the school athletic programs:
Neil Bower, Class of 1940, a NJ All-State Football performer and team captain, record breaking sprinter and team co-captain in Track and Field; Fred Muniz, Class of 1971, NJ All State Group I basketball player, and the first Crusader basketball player to score over 1000 points during his career; Joseph Dylewski, Class of 1973, winner of nine Varsity letters, set the school record for career scoring in basketball, named Central Jersey Defensive Lineman of the Year in 1971 and Co-captain of 1972 undefeated football teams and All-State performer in football and basketball; Matthew Vischetti, Class of 1976, earned eight Varsity letters, named NJ All State Catcher in 1976, led Crusaders to second place finish in state playoffs and Number One in Plainfield Area, All-Area quarterback and linebacker; Brian J. Kermizian, Class of 1995, two time second team All-State baseball (1993 and 1994,) First team All-State Group I outfielder, 1995, All-time Crusader career leader in hits with 152 and in stolen bases with 89, leading hitter of team for three out of four seasons. In addition, the 1971 NJ Group I State Champion Football team, the only undefeated, untied football team in school history, will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.
        The BBHS Hall of Fame induction dinner will be held on October 5, 2014, at the Somerset Holiday Inn, Davidson Avenue, Somerset, to recognize the outstanding contributions of these alumni. There is expected to be a large demand for the limited number of tickets (275) for the event. Your alumni association has awarded two $1,000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors for the past four years. The awards are partially funded by the membership dues you pay and donations made by alumni like you. One hope for the future is to increase the amount of the awards. It all depends on the alumni of Bound Brook High School.The BBHS Alumni Association is pleased to announce this year's winners

Community Service and Leadership - Alyssa Greco  who will attend Dickinson College and major in Enviromental Science.

Association looking to expand membership

The Alumni Association is now looking to expand its membership. All BBHS alumni and friends of BBHS are invited to become members . As a member you will have the ability to stay connected with other Bound Brook graduates and contribute to the perpetuation of the BBHS Hall of Fame . You also will have access to the alumni newsletter and be able to contribute news articles and features to be contained in it. Get the word out to all BBHS graduates and friends. Annual dues for the Association are only $10.00.
