BENICIA BAYSOX TRAVEL TO LAS VEGAS, NV.
The Baysox will begin tournament play Friday morning Oct. 28, 2005.
Benicia's fall team dropped 3 straight last weekend in Elk Grove, CA.
Two weeks ago the Wheat brothers led the Sox to a 2nd place finish at a tournament also hosted in Elk Grove, CA.

"Darren has really become a great asset to our team," says his brother Eric Wheat the Baysox' Manager. "The team really responds to the two of us pretty well I think. We see ourselves as a players coaches since we both still feel as though we're students of the game ourselves."

The Las Vegas tournament will include 28 teams divided into 3 pools. "This weekend should be a true test of our mental and physical strengths," says Eric Wheat.

Tim Masters an ALL AMERICAN ?
Tim played for Baysox Baseball Club from 1997 - 2000.

In May of 2005 Tim was selected to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's All-American Team as Right Fielder. He was also selected to the Division II Regional All-American Team as Designated Hitter.

Tim batted .434 with 16 2B, 2 3B, 9 HR, $ 57 RBI. His SLG % was .705, while his patience earned him 9 BB, 4 HBP & only 16 strikeouts in 173 AB. His wheels helped him to swipe 5 of 9 @ 90 feet a piece. His fielding % of .968 included 57 put-outs, 1 assist, & 2 misfortunes that that I'm sure his teammates gave him a good tongue lashing for.

As you can see Tim posted incredible numbers for the Cowboys of New Mexico Highlands and was rewarded for his efforts.

Congrats Timmy.

And I'm out....
I'm done with the Baysox for now.  I would like to thank 2 very wonderful people for giving me the opportunity to be part of an incredible experience.  Loretta and Chris Masters started the Baysox in the late 90's and allowed me to be me and just manage and coach a large number of great kids and players.  I owe you everything...but you still owe me too.
