Baltimore Bays '99 Premier is now the Baltimore Bays '99 Stars!
The Baltimore Bays '99 Premier team is changing their name to Baltimore Bays '99 Stars in the Fall of 2009. The history behind the name "Stars" comes from a team named Baltimore Stars which had some amazing players who are now competing at the pro level. The Baltimore Stars had a successful run at some prestige titles. Some of the players on that team were: PJ Wakefield, Billy Nelson, Tom Wunk, Ian Rodway and Scott Buete. The Baltimore Stars won 1 National Runner Up, 1 National Semi, 2 Regional Champions, 3 Regional Runner Ups and 11 State Championships.
We feel very proud and privileged to now be known as the Stars

Street Soccer
The benefits of street soccer are undeniable—all of the best players in the world grow up playing it. In the street the game is open and free and a place where one can experiment and be creative without reprimand or fear of failure. Unfortunately, unlike in most of the world, in the United States a street soccer culture does not really exist. We want to create the Brazilian culture in our youth. All you need is a ball. Want teammates or opponents?—grab some friends. Want a goal?—throw some jackets on the ground or pull a garbage can near a tree. Street soccer is the small-sided or individual, informal game that is played by millions of people around the world, and it's how the best players learn their trade. It's the game in the street, in the playground, in the empty lot, in the backyard. It's 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or whatever. It's mastering ball tricks by yourself or just having a kickabout with your friends. We believe that a vibrant street soccer culture is necessary to create elite soccer players. Besides, playing street soccer is fun, and quite simply the more opportunities that anyone has to play the better.
