THE BAYONNE PAL HAS BEEN SERVING THE YOUTH OF BAYONNE SINCE 1947. THE CURRENT STAFF CONSISTS OF AL STRICKLAND, PAL DIRECTOR, NORMAN ELAM-HOUSE LEAGUE COORDINATOR, RODNEY WILSON-TRAVEL COORDINATOR, BOB ROONEY JR.-BOXING DIRECTOR, AND MARTY REED-LEAGUE OF OUR OWN COORDINATOR AND INFORMATION DIRECTOR, AND ROBERT "BIGGIE" MASTROMONACO- HEAD WEBMASTER. SOME OF THE STAFF MEMBERS OF THE PAST WERE: JERRY CLOUGHER, WALTER FARLEY, JEFF FARLEY, STAN HADYKA, MOE KAZAZIAN, CLARENCE GORDON, WALTER HOFF, JULIUS SCHMIDT, DR. ROBERT COHEN, GENE KELLER, HAROLD VAN WOERT, HENRY NAPIORKOWSKI, AND VITOLD LUKITAS. WE WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE OUR OTHER VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE COACHED, OFFICIATED AND ASSISTED IN OTHER WAYS BOTH PAST AND PRESENT, AND ALSO OUR MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE, OUR PARTICIPANTS. Georgetown Wins The Championship
Georgetown has won the Bayonne PAL Basketball Senior Boys Tournament by defeating number five seed Tennessee in what was a very competitive game. In the first quarter the score was tied at 11 points a piece. In the second quarter Georgetown was leading by 1 point with the score 19-18. In the third quarter, despite Georgetown playing good teamwork, they were trailing 34-26, due to outstanding teamwork playing by Tennessee . In the fourth quarter Georgetown outscored Tennessee 23-10 to win the quarter and the game with the final score being Georgetown 49 and Tennessee 44. This was a great game played by both teams.
Georgetown was led in scoring by Cedric Poole who had 24, Cody Balderamos who had 15,
Brandon Rennick who had 4, Ronald Gregory who had 3, Jimmy Gregory who had 2,and Sean Madga who had 1 point. Tennessee was led in scoring by Jonathan Hurley who had 19, Michael Mahoney who had 13, Myer Armstrong who had 8, Michael Mitchell who had 2,and Patrick Trapp who also had 2 points respectfully.

The Bayonne Pal Basketball program will start registraion for the upcoming summer/winter season on May 1,2012.The summer session is divided into two parts: Summer Skills for boys and girls ages 5 to 9. Hot Hoops (outdoor basketball) is for ages 10 to 15. Deadline for summer registration is June 12,2012. the winter session is open to all Bayonne residents.First time registraions must produce proof of residence I.E. (Birth Certificate, School ID, Rent Reciept, Lease, Utilities Bill). Anyone interested in registering can come to the Midtown COmmunity School between 6pm and 8pm Mon.-Fri.
