Understanding the process of how an athlete improves.
Many athletes get frustrated by inconsistent progress even though they believe they are training "hard." Inconsistent or poor results from training often are because the athlete doesn't understand the biological process of how his or her body improves from training. Because they do not know the process, they fail to do the things off the field which are critical to better performance.

The process of athletic improvement is a biological cycle of stimulus and adaptation.   Physical training creates the stimulus within the body to improve. This requires the body to build new tissues and improve existing ones. The building materials for this re-building process come from proper nutrition. But the process is more than this. Adaptations in the body take time and the right conditions. Generally called the recovery phase, it is during this time that the body actually gets stronger, faster and fitter in response to the initial stimulus of physical training. Only when physical training is supported by good sports nutrition and good recovery conditions does an athlete improve his or her body. We at PAC Sports Training call this the Positive Adaptation Cycle and thus our training system is the PAC Sports Training System.
