And of the remaining teams the presence of mid-major George Mason in the final four is the biggest surprise. Many have claimed that this is the death knell for the dominance of big college programs and that we are witnessing a new shift in the way the NCAA tournament will play out—with many more mid-majors making appearances in the Final Four.
