HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS
High School Baseball
Dates:
Fall Programs begin the week of September 21 and run through the week of October 25. Five sessions total.
Winter programs begin the week of November 7 (Sat) and run through the week of February 5 with a break over the Holidays (no classes Nov. 25-29 and Dec. 21-Jan. 3): Ten sessions total. At no additional costs "open cage time" will be available during holiday breaks for HS players enrolled in VBC programs.
High School Hitting Program This program meets once a week for 60 minutes. Video analysis is used in each class. Players will rotate through the cage stations with a focus on visual tracking, pitch-speed adjustments, upper body mechanics, and lower body mechanics. Hitting techniques are applied appropriately to individual's style of hitting, strength, and body type. Players are grouped by age and skill level. 8th graders welcome. 4:1 ratio in each class. Instruction is led by HS coaches, college coaches, and former professional players.

High School Pitching Program Only 4 players per class. This program meets once a week for 60 minutes. Video analysis is used. Body conditioning, warm up, and arm strengthening each class. It is designed for pitchers to receive extensive instruction in throwing mechanics and pitch development. Each pitcher receives plenty of bullpen time. Players are grouped by age and skill level. 8th graders welcome. Instruction led by Pete Schourek, Tom West, Bernie Dennis, and Jeff Horwitt.

High School and Middle School Advanced Infield Program by Mark Harris This elite infield program is led by former first-round draft pick and KC Royals Infield Coordinator, Mark Harris. This program is designed for the serious ball player. There will be extensive work in all areas of infield play with main focus on hand and footwork. This program is held at the VBC Occoquan Indoor Training Center.

VBC High School and Middle School Softball HITTING - Players can choose to work on their hitting skills in a one-hour class that meets for ten sessions. Visual tracking, upper and lower body mechanics, slap hitting, and driving ball in all counts is practiced. Each player receives video analysis.

The VBC offers classes for hitting, pitching, and overall skills. Scroll down to see descriptions of programs and register online.
Programs have been scheduled so that players can register for back-to-back sessions in hitting/pitching or hitting/catching.
Fall Session VBC Merrifield or VBC Occoquan - 5 classes - Sept. 21-Oct. 31Session One VBC Merrifield: 10 classes - November 7 through February 5 (no classes Nov. 25-29 and Dec. 21-Jan. 3): Open cage time during Holiday breaks for players enrolled in session I classes.
Session One VBC Occoquan: 8 classes - November 30 through February 7 with break over the Holidays. (No camps December 21 through January 3). Open cage time during Holiday breaks for players enrolled in session I classes.
Session Two Both VBC Merrifield and VBC Occoquan offer a six-week session that runs from February 8 through March 21.

YOUTH BASEBALL HITTING PROGRAMS All hitting programs include extensive work in hitting mechanics and mental approaches to hitting. Each session includes both physical and mental aspects. Players learn and practice hitting skills which are broken down into upper and lower body mechanics. Hitting techniques are applied appropriately to individual's style of hitting and body type. Each player receives a digital video analysis of their swing. Players are grouped by age and skill level. 4:1 ratio or less in all classes.

Holiday Camps and Teacher Conference Day Summer Camps
HOLIDAY CAMPS - (Ages 7-12) The VBC is offering specialty camps at the VBC Center this winter. Come enjoy a day of baseball at one of the VBC indoor facilities. The camp hours are 9am-2pm. AM and PM Extended hours available at the VBC Merrifield and VBC Occoquan Indoor Training Centers.
Columbus Day Camps - October 12 (VBC Merrifield or McLean LL Complex or Fort Hunt Hollin Hall)
Teacher Conference Day Camps - October 8-9, Jan 29 and Feb. 1, March 4-5 (VBC Merrifield) - Choose one or both days.

T-BALL BEGINNERS (ages 4-5) Get a head start on the spring T-ball season. Fun skill development includes base running, hitting off tee, fielding, throwing, and catching. Group interaction, COOPERATION, and team play emphasized.
VBC Merrifield Facility Coach Randy's T-Ball Beginners (ages 4 and 5) LIMIT SIX PLAYERS PER CLASS. . Read more about Coach Randy Lightle on our staff page. He has been running this very popular program for the past three years at the VBC.
