Two hours east of Seattle and three hours west of Spokane, Central Washington University in charming Ellensburg, is an ideal baseball retreat for players of all abilities and levels.
The second winningest coach in Central Washington history, coach Desi Storey guided his ’01 Wildcats to an 18-14 Cascade Conference record and their first post-season appearance since 1993. In ten seasons as head coach, Desi has managed to compile 203 victories despite playing schedules that perennially are among the toughest in the nation. In five of his ten seasons, the Wildcats have won 20 or more games, including three consecutive years (1997-1999). Among his other coaching accomplishments while at CWU - his 1997 team chalked up 30 regular season wins and in 1993, coach Storey led the Wildcats to the NAIA District 1 playoffs.
As an assistant coach from 1986-1989, Storey was instrumental in leading CWU to its last NAIA World Series berth in 1988. A native of Orofino, Idaho, Desi graduated from CWU after playing two seasons as both an outfielder and pitcher.
