DBT award
|
During my son's HS game yesterday - FED rules - single hit hard directly to F8. F8 comes up throwing to first - good throw would have had runner by a step. Ball goes into DBT. 3-man crew awards BR third. I find it hard to believe that this was the correct award.
Anyone?

What caused the ball to go into DBT?
In other words F8 was throwing to F3. If the ball got away from F3 and the impetus of the ball going into DBT was supplied by F3 not the throw then I can understand the award.

Negative - throw was over F3's head - never touched it

Sounds like maybe they judged the runner was at first at time of the throw, though from your descrpition sounds like it was not
