  Congrats Yanks and Matsui
I was pulling for the Phillys of course...

If I had an MVP vote...

1. Matsui
2. Jeter
3. Damon

Comments...

Now the Yanks have to figure out who to keep... the youthful Damon (age 36) or the old Matsui (age 35).

???

Do you think the Pirates have the $$$ for Matsui?

I think he would be a great addition to the Cubs!

Watching Rivera last night... locates great. Inside inside inside... then hits the outside corner. I think an unconventional hitter might (note the word "might") have success against him... step out of the bucket and line the inside pitch up the middle. ???

A friend asked why Utley hits so well when his follow through is so short. I gave three reasons. Anybody? Would like to hear other opinions.

Unless his knees magically rejuvinate he has to go to an AL team.

Once the ball leaves the bat it's over. Nothing you do with the bat after that matters.

Re the Matsui questions.

IMO, no way Matsui will ever play for a National League Club.

His knees are a big question mark. Had "ops" on both.

Yanks used him as DH....basically successfully.

No DH in the National League.

NL Club....pinch-hitter....and some very rare service on defense. Don't think so!

Frank!

Yanks keep Matsui, unless Mariners want to spend money for him. Question is do they keep Damon, his lack of an arm is a liability, but his bat has made up for it.
