Sunday, October 25 SAINTS 5 v 3 Buchanhaven Hearts Young Banchory striker Scott Garrett making his first appearance since signing on a loan deal from Huntly, made a great start with two well taken goals, but the match was perhaps more memorable for the atrocious weather conditions that prevailed for most of this match. Hearts took the lead from a penalty, but Saints got into their stride with Garrett scoring with a wonderful strike from 25 yards. The striker added another with another well placed shot as did Andrew Courage and Lee Shanks. 4-1 up at half time but that was playing with the wind. However, after a good second half start, Richard Stainer added a fifth, and then Hearts scored twice in a 5 minute spell with half way through the second half. With the wind and rain driving into their faces even harder than the first half, Saints defence and keeper Greg Sim kept the Blue Toon team at bay to bag three important League points. Full match report to follow. |
