Halford, Hinton, Hirschmann earn Academic All-State
Three Bulldog wrestlers have been named to the KWCA Academic All-State team for the 2001-02 season. BHS has never had three wrestlers in one season win this honor, which is awarded each year to seniors with at least a .500 varsity record and a GPA over 3.0 for honorable mention and 3.5 for first team.
Adam Halford was named first team with his 28-22 record and 3.51 GPA. He was a state qualifier and holds the school record for escapes in a season with 54.
Witt Hinton was named honorable mention with a 3.41 GPA and a 39-5 record. He became Baldwin's second state champion and was a two-time state placewinner, finishing 5th as a junior.
Chris Hirschmann was also named honorable mention with a 3.47 GPA and a 24-18 season record. Hirschmann was a four-year varsity wrestler for the Bulldogs and team captain.
