Callahan selected for All-Star Duals; competes at Nationals
Bulldog senior Alan Callahan was selected to compete in three senior All-Star duals in the month of March. He also competed at the Senior Nationals tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia from April 1-6. Callahan lost his first match to the eventual champion from California, then lost to a Missouri wrestler by a 8-6 score to be eliminated.
KANSAS vs. MISSOURI METRO CLASSIC
- Wednesday, March 11, 7 p.m. Kansas City Kansas Community College
- lost to Cody Tyler of Oak Park, Mo. Tyler was a three-time state finalist and state champion for the Northmen. He also was a multiple-time All-American in Fargo, ND, in freestyle/greco, including a national finalist.
EAST KANSAS SENIOR CLASSIC
- Friday, March 20 Topeka Lee Arena, Washburn University
- lost to Chanute's Kenneth Ornelas by a 11-9 score. Ornelas was a state champion and three-time state placer in 4A.
KWCA SENIOR CLASSIC
- "Big School (5A-6A) vs. Small School (4A-321A) Dual"
- Friday, March 27, 7 p.m. Topeka Expocenter
- lost to Manhattan state champion Jeff Vesta by fall.
