BAC YOUTH FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS CROWNED!
On Saturday, November 7th, the Burnsville Athletic Club Youth Football held its championship games at Burnsville High School on the new turf. The games were all very close and very competitive.
PANTHERS WIN FLAG FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP OVER VIKINGS in a very close game that came down to the last couple minutes of the final quarter. Jack Kudrna had 2 long touchdown runs for the Panthers. The final score was 26-18.
STEELERS REPEAT AS AFL CHAMPIONS after a very good match-up with the Raiders. It was a defensive battle with the only two scores coming on long Jason Gumm touchdown runs. The final score was 14-0. The Steelers ended the season undefeated.
RAVENS DOMINATE THE SECOND HALF AND WIN THE NFL CHAMPIONSHIP over the Falcons, who suffered a couple of major injuries in the game. Ravens running back Garrett Smith continued his dominance rushing for some big gains and playing some outstanding defense in the 25-6 win.
Thank you to all the teams for a very fun season!
Blazing Stars 8th Grade Traveling Team Defeats Jimmy Lee!
On Sunday, November 8th, the BAC Blazing Stars defeated the Jimmy Lee Recreational Center of St. Paul at the Mall of America Field at the Metrodome. The final score was 38-14! This is only the 4th time in team history that the Blazing Stars have beat the always tough Little Roads.
The Blazing Stars offense was running on all cylanders! Running backs Jaron Holt, Anthony Rikberg and Matt Scharber each scored at least one touchdown on the ground and well over 300 yards rushing total. QB Tyler Sheehy also contributed to the rushing total with an amazing run in the fourth quarter (click here to see the best example of what it looked like). Tyler also completed some nice passes to WR Tommy Peerboom. The offensive line dominated a much larger Jimmy Lee defensive line, opening huge holes. Great job Big O!
On special teams, the Blazing Stars recovered two fumbles. Nate Bowman recovered a fumble on a kickoff and Forest Parotti recovered a fumble on a botched punt return attempt. Both plays were key in the Blazing Stars victory.
On defense, free safety Billy Brock had 2 great interceptions (and returns) in the game that stopped two Jimmy Lee drives deep in Blazing Stars territory. Defensive ends Christian Vergara and Jack Kelly played outstanding, stopping several Jimmy Lee sweeps. Linebackers "Johnny Cakes" Dahl, Alex Mason and Brady Letson also racked up several tackles for the defense. It was an all around team effort!
GREAT END TO THE SEASON BLAZING STARS! FOUR IN A ROW! THANKS FOR A FUN SEASON PLAYERS, COACHES, PARENTS & FANS!
