Burnsville Athletic Club (BAC)

The Burnsville Athletic Club (BAC) is a nonprofit organization that organizes and supervises youth sports for kindergarten through 12^th grade.  All board members and commissioners are volunteers.  Our non-paid positions allow us to maximize what we can give the community.

BAC has been providing and organizing youth sports since 1959.  In the early days, many of the functions of the BAC were executed in the homes of volunteers.  Years later, we moved to the Alimagnet park house.  Our current home is in the basement of the Burnsville city hall.  

We plan to grow in many ways while improving service to our community.   

Where your donation is needed:

Scholarships:  We need outside funding in order to provide for those that can not afford our programs.  Currently, a portion of paid participants is used to finance this need.  Due to the economy, this is logic is creating a challenge.

Construction:  We do not have enough gym space for our indoor sports or a winter training facility for our outdoor sports.  Acquiring or building to suite these needs is part of our vision.

BAC Office Move:  In 2008 we planned to move to a new facility.  The city has decided to put this move on hold.  Below is our 2008 plan.

BAC plans to move to a new facility in 2009.  This facility will allow us to consolidate our offices, conference rooms and equipment storage areas.  This move will require us to modify an existing area that the city of Burnsville is providing.  This will cost approximately $250,000.

We need your help?  Many Twin City companies support non-profit organizations if their employees have benefited, can benefit or will benefit from the organization.  In addition, your contributions will be greatly appreciated.  Your support in these two areas will be key to our success.

Methods of contribution:

1.      Please email your HR or charitable donation department.  Ask them to donate $100, $500, $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 to help towards our goal.  Amount: $___________

2.      Employees that contribute to the United Way through their employer have the option to direct some of their giving to a non-profit organization of their choice.  Please direct 10%, 25% or 50% of your giving towards our goal. Amount: __________%

3.      Over the years we have herd testimonials of how our programs have enhanced their youth experience.  Please forward this letter to alumni.  Alumni, please provide a gift of $25, $50, $100 or $500 would be greatly appreciated.  Amount: $__________

4.      Your contribution is very important.  Supervised activities allow our youths, to grow in ways that can not be accomplished in school.  The offering of supervised athletes is the perfect complement to our children’s education.  Please contribute $25, $50, $100 or $500. Amount: $________
