Dear Buccaneers Parents/Players:
On behalf of the entire Field Hockey Staff, I would like to welcome you to the Buccaneers Field Hockey program.
The Field Hockey season will begin with practices starting in August and games beginning after Labor Day and running thru the first week of November.
Practice times and days are at the discretion of each Head Coach. Games will be played at home as well as away and most games are scheduled for Saturday & Sunday play; however this is determined by the county and subject to change.
Please remember Sportsmanship - before, during and after the game.
Age Requirements:
Team placement is based on the following:
Player must be 8 years of age to play on a county team
Pee Wee 3rd - 4th Grades
Middies 5th - 6th Grades
Juniors 7th - 9th Grades
Little Sticks: 5-7 years of age. This team is instructional only; scrimmages will be set up with other organizations.
Evaluations may be held for juniors if more than one team is formed to insure proper placement for skill level.
Players playing on a HS level can not play in County league. Players can NOT play down, they can play up.
Playing up is at the discretion of the director and head coach.
Minimum Play
Each player in uniform shall play a minimum of:
Pee Wee 50% of each game
Middies & junior 25% of each game
The mandatory participation guidelines are for all County-sponsored youth sports. The guidelines shall be used in league and tournament play except in cases of illness, injury or disciplinary action.
Excessive absences that are not related to illness, school or religious related activities will result in disciplinary action and can limit playtime.
Equipment Requirements:
Each player shall provide their own field hockey stick, white shin guards and cleats. Applies to little sticks as well.
Practice days and times will be determined by the Head Coach.
Players should arrive for practice in appropriate attire: sweat pants, shorts, t-shirt proper shoes and absolutely no jewelry.
Once again thank you for your participation in our youth sports programs. The success of our organization is the result of coaches, parents and players working together to create an atmosphere that encourages and promotes a positive environment for our children to learn and enjoy various sports in a team atmosphere.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Buccaneers Athletic Club and/or volunteering in anyway your help is always appreciated and needed.
General meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month
