16N1 Rumba and 14R1 Mojo win AZ Region Championship Division Titles
Congratulations to Coaches Ed Martell, Caitlin Forrest and the 16N1 Rumba team, and Coaches Norm Anderson, Ryan Wrublik and the 14R1 Mojo team for outstanding play in their regional Championship Tournaments. We are very proud of these teams for consistent play throughout the season and its very fitting that they win the Championship Division Tournaments with all players contributing. Kudos to our region champs and several AZ Sky teams finished in the top 5 of their division: 18 Gold finished 3rd in the Open Gold Division; a first for AZ Sky, 16N3 finished 3rd in the Club Gold Division, 15R1 finished 5th in Club Gold Division, 14N1 Adrenaline finished 3rd in the Championship Gold Division and 12N1 Green Lantern finished 3rd in the Club Gold Division.
Congratulations to our Seniors!
We want to congratulate, recognize and thank our seniors for their accomplishments on the court and for their time and dedication given to AZ Sky over the years. These talented athletes are amazing players on the court but also incredible young women of character and intergity off the court. They are strong in the classroom, have outstanding work ethics, and will be successful in acheiving their goals and dreams. We wish them the best of luck in all their endeavors and look forward to following their collegiate careers. We are very proud of our six seniors: Lexi Anderson, Mariah Cox, Tarah Dabovich, Victoria Fajardo, Danielle Parker and Kailee Weiler!
Two players signed Letters of Intent last week: Tarah Dabovich signed with Minot State University and Mariah Cox signed with Salt Lake Community College. Danielle Parker will sign with Glendale Community College on April 25th and Victoria Fajardo and Kailaa Heaney have verbally committed to Scottsdale Community College and South Mountain Community College. Other seniors are still taking official visits and making decisions on their collegiate options. Special acknowledgments to Lexi Anderson (played for AZ Sky from development through 18s starting at the age of 10), Victoria Fajardo and Kailee Weiler (have played for AZ Sky for seven years starting at the age of 12).
Festival Try-outs and Summer Practice Schedule
Festival Tryouts will be held in May for all age groups. Please click on our Try-out link for information and practice schedules through June. We look at post season play as a new season and players valley wide have opportunity to make an AZ Sky Festival team. We are also going to offer our popular 4X4 tournaments every Friday night! Summer Camp information will be posted in May.
AZ Fear Boys Summer Volleyball
AZ Fear is looking to field teams of all ages to travel to California this summer in June. They will host try-outs at Kingdom courts, Saturday April 28th, from 5-7:30pm. See their flyer under our try-out link.
Its time to sign up for our 7th Annual AZ Sky Beach Program offered at Victory Lanes!
AZ Sky has competed very well within the AZ Region (won the region Tournament Cup in 2011) and USAV Beach tournaments in California. All players are welcome and invited to participate. Beach is a lot of fun and it really improves the indoor game. Not only does this program develop and enhance court awareness but you continually work on your overall skill set. 14 N1 Adrenaline and 15 Open Booya Qualify for USAV Junior Olympics
Congratulations to all coaches and players for an outstanding AZ Qualifier. We are proud to have both teams along with our 12N1 Green Lantern represent AZ Sky at the USAV JO's in Columbus this summer.
AZ Sky partners with Volley4Life in sending student athletes to Puerto Rico for a Mission and Cultural Exchange Program! Join us for a Parent Night Out April 13th or a Dodgeball Tournament April 14th with proceeds going towards travel expenses.
AZ Sky 14N1 Adrenaline will head to Puerto Rico in May to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in a mission and cultural exchange program. This educational mission will include a community service project at an orphanage in San Juan, visiting historical sites and learning the Puerto Rican culture and exchanging volleyball skill clinics with local volleyball clubs from the island. We will host and participate in a volleyball clinic/Round Robin tournament with Puerto Rico teams so players can compete and practice techniques learned in clinics, and interact and play with players from a different country. We will then finish the trip with visit to the Rain Forest. To help raise funds we are hosting a Dodgeball tournament for junior high and high school players as well as a Parent Night Out that will include Texas Hold'em and Bunco. AZ Sky 15 Heat wins the Vulture Peak Tournament
Congratulations to our coaches and players for an outstanding tournament. This team continues to be undefeated after 25 matches of play and is gearing up for a strong finish in the regional tournament. Our 16N3 team placed 3rd overall with all players contributing on the court. We are extremely proud of our teams accomplishments!

AZ Sky is now offering additional Training Opportunities
AZ Sky is now offering additional training opportunities to enhance our athletes performance on the court. Volleyball Plyometrics is designed to increase vertical jump and improve hand speed. This program will enable muscle to reach maximum force in the shortest time (speed). Plyometrics along with a dynamic weight training program (strength) is the recommended method to achieve maxiumum results. Strength + Speed = Power. AZ Sky 15 Booya wins Fiesta Classic 16 Club Division
Congratulations to Coaches Norm and Kathy Anderson and the 15 Booya team for outstanding play in the Fiesta Classic. They went undefeated in three days of play and beat Dinamo in the final match 2-0. Great team effort on the court girls, we are very proud of your accomplishments this weekend!
Kudos to Beth Lemke, Jim Campbell and the 14 Adrenaline team for finishing 7th overall in the 16 Club Division. This extremely talented team is fun watch and will challenge all opponents they face on the court this year.
14 Elevation Takes 2nd and 12 Green Lantern Finish 3rd in the AZ Kick Off
Coaches Chris Coleman and Ryan Dimal and the 14N2 Elevation team battled in the finals of the Gold Championship Division of the competitive AZ Kick Off. Congratulations on an excellent tournament and 2nd place finish. AZ Sky 14R2 placed 2nd overall in the club division and had a fantastic weekend of play. 12N1 Green Lantern placed third in a competitive 12s division and showed tremendous teamwork on the court. Awesome josb girls!
Skylar Wine attends High Performance Holiday Camp
Skylar Wine (14N1), was invited to participate with the top 48 Select Athletes from across the country at the USA Volleyball High Performance Holiday Camp, December 26-30th. The camp was held at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. They were treated like any other athlete training for the Olympics and practiced 6-8 hours a day. We are very proud of Skylars accomplisments and wish her the best of luck with her HP endeavors.
