Referee Training Requirements

1.    COACHES and Assistant Coaches:  All coaches must attend Referee Training

2.    TEAMS:  ALL teams need TWO (2) trained referees to represent their team in their age division for game day coverage. These responsibilities can be fulfilled by a parent, friend or sibling age 10 or above who receives training.

3.    PARENTS/ Spectators: ALL parents and spectators are encouraged to complete the Referee Training in order to understand the LAWS and understand the application of the LAWS by the referees on the field during the games.How to Become a Volunteer

1.    Complete a “Volunteer Application” form Online

2.    Register On-Line in order to gain an AYSO ID # and take on-line courses

How to Register On-Line*

1.    Go to    www.eayso.org/ 2.    Click “ I am new to AYSO and want to volunteer” or log-in if you have an ID 3.    Click “I want to do my part as an AYSO volunteer” 4.    Complete requested information 5.    A Volunteer ID # should be assigned to you upon completionComplete SAFE-HAVEN On-Line* (60-70 minutes) 1.    Log into   www.aysotraining.org/ 2.    Enter your AYSO ID # and last name  3.    Choose “Courses”-  Course MT02- AYSO Safe Haven 4.    Complete the slideshow and test at the end  5.    A certificate will be provided at the end of presentation and your completion will be updated in eAYSO automatically. Print your certificate.Complete the “On-Line Portion” of the BASIC/ Regional Referee Course 1.    Log into   www.aysotraining.org/ 2.    Enter your AYSO ID # and last name 3.    Choose “Referee Courses”- Course R002- Basic Referee On-Line Training 4.    Complete the slideshow, practice questions, and the practice test at the end 5.    Upon completion, eAYSO will be automatically updated. A certificate may be available for printing at this time. 6.    When you have completed both Safe Haven AND the On-Line Basic Referee Training, you will need to register for one of the classroom companion classes to complete your Referee Certification. The Companion Class is approximately 3 hours and includes your final examination.7.    The “classroom” Companion Class will be offered on different dates each season:

How to Register for the Referee CLASSROOM Training 1.    Log into     www.eayso.org/ 2.    Click on “Enroll to take a course”3.    Search properties:       Section- 5            Area- B       Region- 337  4.    Locate the class you want to enroll in from the following options: If you do not have computer access or are unable to complete the on-line training, you can attend the FULL DAY training . If you have not registered prior to classroom training, simply let us know you will be attending and we can get your paperwork started the day of training.  However, SAFE HAVEN will still need to be completed On-Line prior to certification, but can be completed late if necessary.  If you have any trouble accessing the on-line courses, please try the eAYSO help first.
