  Welcome

Thursday, July 21
Welcome to the AYSO Region 746 website -Saranac/Ionia/Lowell and Surrounding Areas

Welcome to the official web page for Region 746 of the American Youth Soccer Organization. Region 746 consists of the Lowell, Saranac, Ionia and surrounding areas in Michigan. However, we have Open Registration which welcomes players from anywhere!  We are affiliated with the American Youth Soccer Organization and follow the mission and philosophies of the national organization.

We currently have teams beginning for age 4 - 13 as of August 1, 2011.

Pre-registration for any season is available online at eayso.org. Simply sign up for a user name and password and follow the instructions for registering a player. (It is helpful to know we are region 746.)  Each family is also asked to fill out a volunteer form for at least one adult. Two (2) copies of each form (player and volunteer) should be brought to registration or downtown Saranac's Scrapbook Garden at 45 Bridge, across from Speedway, along with payment for registration.

In-person registration for Fall is always from 6-8pm the Monday and Thursday of the second FULL week of July. Spring is the last FULL week of February. Registrations are held in various locations so call or watch for signs.

Fall 2011-

Registration is passed but we still have several teams that can take another player or two.

Coaches, referees and other volunteers are needed...always!  No experience necessary.  All of us are volunteers and many hands make light work.  Please help with anything from Coach to Team Parent to gargabe removal at your field.  All are needed to make the season run smoothly and loads of fun for the kids!

Cost for registration is $35/player plus a fundraiser/family.  Current fundraiser is a box of 50 World's Finest Chocolate bars.  You may pick up candy at Scrapbook Garden any time.  Pre-pay for both Fall '11 and Spring '12 and receive $5 off registration.

Picture Day is Tuesday, September 13th.

Spring 2011 -

Registration will be available at Scrapbook Garden and after our fall season you may also pre-register online.  Note that returning players do not need to print out copies of player forms.  Pre-printed forms are available at registration.

Spring players that played in the Fall and play on the same team may save $5 by bringing their Fall uniform to registration and re-using it for the Spring season.

Our region is currently looking for volunteers in the following areas:

Referees - all divisions!  We can train you.

Time commitment - You may commit to as many or as few games as you wish.  Some of our volunteers do their own children's games and some do other divisions.  Some don't have any players but have a love of the game.  Whatever works for your schedule and family, we can make it work!

________________________________________________________

Equipment Manager - Assess needs of referee and coach game bags and game boxes during the season and replace items as needed. Evaluate and upgrade other game equipment such as balls, nets and flags.

Beneficial qualities of Equipment Manager - ORGANIZED,  no knowledge of soccer necessary!!!

Time commitment - quite a bit to organize the first time since it hasn't been done.  After a maintenance schedule is established time invested would include the beginning and end of each season.  Equip person would restock and answer coach equipment questions during the playing season.  This would require minimal time.

_________________________________________________________

Asst. Treasurer - Help our treasurer with some small tasks, as a back-up when the Treasurer is unavailable and maybe even train to take a turn at Treasurer in the future.

Beneficial qualities of Asst. Treasurer - good with finances, organized. We have a great treasurer currently and only need someone to learn the ropes as a back-up.

Time commitment - minimal year round.  Busier during and right after registration.
