Fall 2008 Soccer Registration Update

If you mailed in your registration form for our Fall 2008 season, that’s great and thank you!!!  Your registration is in process.   However, there are a few things you should know or might be wondering:

·        If you mailed your registration to the PO Box in Burlington, then we should have it or it’s coming.  We have faith in our US postal service.  With over 300 +/- registrations we receive each season, we have no easy and time efficient way to confirm receipt with each of you.

·        It is our practice not to process checks received from you until our season is set and finalized (teams formed).  So don’t panic if you sent it in May.  It won’t be processed until mid to late August.

·        You will not be hearing from us or your child’s coach until later in August, unless we have questions or concerns about your registration.

AYSO Outlanders is a Not-for-Profit organization.  We are all parent volunteers (unpaid) giving back to our community by providing quality soccer programs to you and your families.  All of our volunteers/board members currently have or had children playing soccer with Outlanders.

We are growing and need more help.  We are in need of volunteers in every area including board member positions.  Step up and take the challenge, you’ll be glad you did.  The reward is immeasurable, and never forgotten to those that look up to you.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like additional information on available board positions, please email us at ayso573@msn.com or via phone at 847-464-GOAL (4625).

Have a safe and fun-filled summer and we’ll see you on the soccer fields in early September.  Games begin September 6th.

Fall 2008 Registration Now Underway

With the end of the Spring 08 soccer season nearing a close, we now need to look towards our upcoming Fall 08 season -- Registration is currently underway now through July 16.  Don't wait and don't be late.  By the time school is back in session in mid-August, our soccer teams will have already been formed and most likely filled.

We fill teams by post marked date on registration forms.  The last open spots on teams will be filled by the date in which their registrations are received.  So don't wait, or you might be too late.

The Fall 2008 Registration Form can be found under the Forms Forms Forms folder.

Have a Safe and fun-filled summer.

What Your Child Needs to Play Soccer

If you are new to soccer, here is a list of things you'll need to play soccer with AYSO Outlanders.

  • Shin Guards are mandatory (may be purchased at any sporting or retail stores).
  • Soccer shoes are recommended (may be purchased same as above)
  • Recommended soccer ball sizes (may be purchased same as above):
    • 1st & 2nd grd (U08).  Need a #3 Ball
    • 3rd & 4th grd (U10).  Need a #4 Ball
    • 5th - 8th grd (U12-U14).  Need a #5 Ball
    • Preschool (4 yrs)/Kindergarten (U06).  Receives a poof ball through our program from their coach.
  • Water bottle (to keep hydrated during practices and games)
  • Perscription eye glasses are prohibited from being worn on any soccer field.  If your child is unable to use contact lenses and must wear eye glasses on the field, you have two choices:
    • Purchase a pair of perscription sports glasses (available through any retail eye glasses store)
    • Wear goggles over perscription glasses.  Every coach is provided a pair of goggles in their coaching bag.  So please see your coach to borrow them during game time.

Rain or shine, cold or warm, soccer is played in all types of weather.  So dress accordingly.  Non-hooded (preferred) sweatshirts, etc. may be worn under your jersey's as well as gloves and a knitted stocking cap or head band.  In the case of inclement weather (thunder/lightening), your coach should be checking the weather cancellation contact information and/or the home team coach listed on the schedules specific to where your game is being played.  He/she will notify players accordingly with any changes/updates.

Registration Late Fee

Starting in 2008, AYSO Outlanders Soccer is instituting a Late Fee charge of $10 per player for any Registration Form received/postmarked after the deadline date listed on the form.  The more registrations we receive on time, the better prepared we will be when determining the number of teams and interested coaches for those teams, as well as the placement of players.

The Spring soccer season is right around the corner.  So don't delay, get those forms in today!!

NEW UNIFORMS REQUIRED FALL07
We've had 6 great season of use with the gold and black uniforms. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued that style so we had to select a new one. We think you'll like our new uniforms. They are Blue & Black jerseys and include shorts and socks as well.
