1 - Open Registration

Our program is open to all children between 4 and 18 years of age as of July 31st who want to register and play soccer.  Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing.  We welcome players from all across the southwest valley.  We never turn away a player due to an inability to pay.  Contact the Regional Commissioner for scholarship opportunities.

2- Balanced Teams

New teams are formed every year.  We do not honor coach or player requests in an effort to make it more fair for everyone.  Automatic player retention is limited to the coach's player(s) and one assistant coach's player.  We try our best to create balanced teams within a reasonable geographical area by considering a player's competitive team experience (if any), skill level (if known), years of experience, age and previous team history.

3 - Everyone Plays

New for 2007 - ALL players must play 3 quarters before any one player may play 4 for the U6/U8/U10/U12/U14 divisions (U16/U19 have free substitutions) whenever possible (allowances may be made for injuries and physical abilities as determined by the referee of the game).  For the U10/U12 divisions - players may play no more then 2 quarters as goalkeeper as field player.  Coaches are strongly urged to play different players the first quarter of each game.

4 - Positive Coaching

Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the players and ultimately leads to better-skilled and better-motivated layers.  Positive leadership applies to coaches and parents when providing the players with instruction.

5 - Good Sportsmanship

We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.
