Appleton West Little League & Baseball Club: AW Baseball Club 15,14,13U
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Appleton West Baseball Club, Inc. is a USSSA affiliated youth sports organization that participates in the Fox Valley Youth Baseball League and various youth baseball tournaments throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Our organization serves youth players from the Appleton West High School community. This season we have formed teams at the 15U, 14U and 13U levels. A player’s age as of 4/30/2013 will constitute the player's official “league age”. 13 year old players who are in 8th grade may play up to the 14U level if desired and must be approved by the 14U manager.
League Games: There will be approximately 14 league games plus the potential for playoff games for league play. We will play teams from around the Fox Valley. Home games will be played at Hoover Park (13U), and Niehaus Field (14U, 15U). Away games could be played as far away as Waupaca, Freedom, Kaukauna, or Fond du lac.
Tournament Games: Each player will be guaranteed at least 2 tournaments with each tournament having a 3 game minimum. (Weather permitting) Tournaments may require travel anywhere within the state of Wisconsin, although we usually try to find tournaments within 75 miles of Appleton. Carpooling is usually organized.
Practice and Instruction: Managers will commit to instructing and practicing with players at least 3 times per week before games begin and at least 2 times per week after games begin. League games begin in Mid May and go through early July. Playoffs begin in Mid July. Tournaments may begin in Late May and run through the end of July. Most tournaments are played on Fri., Sat., & Sun.
Uniforms: Jerseys and pants are provided, but must be returned at the end of the season. Caps are also provided and can be kept by the player. Player must provide a royal blue belt and socks for all games.
Fees: Cost to participate in FVYB League + 2 tournaments is $175.00. Additional tournaments may be extra ($25.00 per tournament) No other fees will be added, and no fundraising will be required. Players may be asked to help at our annual golf outing at the end of the season.
Volunteers: All parents will be required to volunteer to sell concessions during at least one home game and are encouraged to help coach, field prep, refer corporate sponsors, and cheer for Appleton West players.

President – Pat Collar
Pat Collar is the founder of Appleton West Baseball Club. Pat has coached youth Baseball for the past 15 years, beginning in East Altadena Little League in Altadena, CA where he also served as a Vice President of Baseball. Pat has coached in Appleton Little League since 2006 and is currently the commissioner for the West Division. Pat’s son, Harrison is in the 15U division of AWBC. Pat has been the President of Collar Capital Management, LLC in Appleton since 2009. Prior to starting Collar Capital, he worked as a portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley in Appleton.
Vice President – Andy Henkel
Andy Henkel has coached in Appleton West Little League for the past 6 years and has managed a division tournament team for the past 3 years. Andy has also coached for the past 4 years in the Fox Valley Pop Warner football league. Before moving to Appleton, Andy coached in La Peer Little League in La Peer, MI for 4 years. Andy’s son, Austin is in the 14U division of AWBC. Andy also manages a minor league team for AWLL where his son, George, plays. Andy currently works as the Corporate Facilities Manager for Plexus Corp. in Neenah.
Secretary – Luke Vissers
Luke Vissers has coached youth baseball for the past 5 years. Luke has coached a 13U and 14U team in AWBC the last two seasons. In 2010 he managed the Good Company team for Appleton West Little League. Luke also serves as a Quartermaster for Boy Scout Troop 73, and he serves on the fundraising committee for the board of directors of St. Pius Church. Luke’s son, Jacob is in the 15U division of AWBC. Luke currently works as an IT Analyst for RR Donnelley in Greenville.
Treasurer – Brenda Ketter
Brenda Ketter currently serves as Treasurer for Appleton West Little League. Brenda has served as President and Treasurer for the Wilson Middle School Parent Volunteers. She has seen 3 boys go through Appleton West Little League. Brenda currently works in accounts payable for GLK Foods in Appleton. Brenda's son, Max, plays in the 14U division of AWBC.
Vice President (15U Div.) - Joe Krueger
Joe Krueger has coached in Grand Chute baseball, AWYBA basketball, and Fox Valley Pop Warner football for the past 10 years in Appleton. Before that he served as an assistant baseball coach to Coach Lemons at Appleton West High School. Joe has also coached football for Little Chute High School, and coached baseball for 2 years at Lawrence University. Joe’s son, Karson is in the 15U division of AWBC. Joe is currently a teacher at Little Chute High School.
Vice President (14U Div.) – Jason Rice
Jason Rice has coached youth baseball for the past 6 seasons in Appleton. Last year, Jason managed the 13U team for AWBC. Jason was the manager of Cinders for Appleton West Little League in 2011. Jason grew up in Appleton and played Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. Jason has two sons, Bryant & Daron in the 14U division of AWBC. Jason currently works for the Pace Corporation in Appleton.
Vice President (13U Div.) - Chris Hoffman
Director / Concessions – Jenny Vissers
Jenny served as the Concessions Committee Chair for AWBC in 2011 & 2012. Jenny is also serving as the Vice President of Parent Volunteers at Wilson Middle School. She is also the Fundraising Coordinator for Boy Scout Troop 73 in Appleton. Jenny’s son, Jacob is in the 15U division of AWBC.
Director / Golf Fundraiser - Michael Jung
Michael, along with his wife Jackie, head up the annual Golf Tournament fundraising event. Michael’s son Patrick currently plays for the AW 10U Travel Team and on a majors AW Little LeagueTeam. Michael and Jackie have a son that is currently a Sergeant with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. Michael has helped assistant coach baseball, flag football and basketball.
