Avon Grove Area Little League: Machine/Coach Pitch
Welcome to Avon Grove Area Little League! First timers to AGALL need to sign up in person please see the link for registration information. You will need to bring a copy of the players birth certificate and 2 proofs of residency (i.e. Driver's License and Utility bill). Little League International requires this to insure that as the players progress in the League, they are playing at the right level and in the appropriate district.
The Coach/Machine Pitch Division consists of mostly 6 and 7 year old boys, however girls can and have played in this division. A 6 old must have played one year of TBALL in a Little League or Babe Ruth affiliated League. Age is based on the players age as of April 30th of the current year. The coaches will be focusing on the basic fundamentals of the game and also explaining the rules of the game.
The season starts off as Coach Pitch and moves on to Machine Pitch as the players are ready. Score is not officially kept in Coach/Machine Pitch and focus is stillon learning the game of Baseball. Since this is a developmental division, all players should play all the positions they would like to try.
The season usually starts in about the 3rd week of March. There will be a couple weeks of practice, and then games usually start the first week of April. Once the season starts, you can expect one practice a week and 1 game per week. Later on in the season you may add in some additional games during the week as weather make up games. The teams you will be playing will be the other Avon Grove teams. As for the practices, that is at the manager’s discretion and field availability as for what day of the week and for the number per week.
