Umpire Information
AGALL Board of Directors voted in October 2008 to begin paying umpires in 2009. The Major Divisions and the Minor A Divisions of both baseball and softball will pay $25 per game for one umpire.  The Board of Directors made this decision based on many factors. The league anticipates that paying umpires at these levels will bring in more volunteer umpires and help retain veteran umpires in order to improve the quality of officiating. Competition for umpires from other paid leagues, including adult leagues, American Legion, high school and upper Little League levels was taken into consideration. Research showed that 7 out of 12 neighboring Little League groups use paid umpires.AGALL has mandated that beginning in 2009, any umpire, regardless of experience, must complete 3 hours of classroom training and 2 hours of on-field training, in addition to the volunteer application process. If you are interested in umpiring for the 2009 season, please contact Chris Mintschenko at chrismintschenko@yahoo.com or 610-869-7364.
