WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE Tuesday, April 29 This Week in the AGALL Majors - April 21st - 27th Monday opened the new week with the Tigers thrashing the Rams 12-3. The Tigers were lead by a strong pitching performance from Henry Yates and the bat of Corey “cool breeze” DiEmedio who clubbed his first tater. Tuesday saw the Bears sneak past the Panthers in a high scoring affair 11-9. Trevor “Big Guns” Abeldt smacked his first HR and Mike Birch joined the fun with a triple and a double. Zach Walton tried to keep pace with a fine night of clutch hitting for the Panthers. On Wednesday the Sharks upended the Colts 7-2 behind fine pitching from GP Gillespie and a long ball from Eric “E-Train” Ligda. Thursday featured a heated affair between the Cougars and Cubs. The game was knotted at 5 apiece until Steven “the assassin” Armstrong struck with a clutch 2 run triple in the bottom of the 5th to seal the deal for the Cubs. Friday had the Tigers tangling with the Lions. Josh Ingalls helped stake the Lions to a 7 run lead only to have to sweat out the victory late thanks to a Tiger rally lead by Taylor Kim’s clutch hitting. Saturdays’ games ended just as you would expect in a 2008 season that has seen a very balanced and competitive Major League. The early game needed 7 innings to decide a well pitched game between the Rams’ Eric “don’t call me Ted” Nugent and the Panthers’ Brent “Lefty” Rice. Matt “Matt” Bunjo of the Panthers helped turn 2 double plays in a well played affair. Vince Drake’s triple started things for the Rams in the 7th as they eventually won 9-4. The middle game was a lopsided oddity with the Bears chewing up the Cougars 11-4. The final game of the weekend was a classic. The Cubs’ Ryan “lil poison” Chipman dueled Chris “my favorite” Martin for 5 innings. When both turned the game over to their usually reliable bullpens in the 5th the score was 2-1 Sharks. The Cubs, lead by a winged Joe Thompson rallied in the bottom of the 6th. The inning was capped off in dramatic fashion as Tommy “the splinter” Moran delivered a clutch double to plate the winning run. Tuesday, April 29 Minor A Highlights -
