The registration form for the 2013 Youth Football Camp is available for download in the forms/handouts section.  This camp is open to all children ages 7 to 14 and focuses on improving players skills, developing a winning attitude and the value of a being a good teamamate. 

Deadline for registration is June 20th.  If you have any questions regaring the camp, contact information can be found on the registration form.

Averill Park would like to welcome all of its new and returning athletes, Board Members, Coaches, Volunteers and Parents to our 2013 season.  We are off to a good start this year and are looking forward to all this season has to bring.

Registration:  Tuesday May 7th at Algonquin Middle School

                   Saturday June 1st at Butler Park

                   Monday July 22nd at Butler Park (During Football Camp)

• Registration Forms are available on the Forms/Handouts section of this site.  Registration will require the following information:
  • Child's current headshot - Wallet size photo
  • Copy of 2013 June Report Card (when available)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate (for all new athletes)
  • Current Physical Release form.  Please keep in mind that athletes cannot play without this form.  This applies to both Football and Cheer.  This form can be printed off the Capital District Pop Warner Site ( www.cdpw.org ) or in the Forms sections of this site.
• If you register, please use the checklist available in the forms section as a guide to keep track of outstanding paperwork.

Practice for Football and Cheer:  Practice starts on August 5th at 6:00 pm at Butler Park

• Athletes attending the Youth Football Camp will have thier equipment for the season.   Athletes who do not attend the Youth Football Camp can pick thier equipment up at Butler Park on Saturday August 3rd at Meet the Coaches Day.
• ***ALL tackle football players must have a full week of practice before they can start tackle drills.  Please keep in mind the Youth Camp does not count towards this time.
• It's HOT out:  Make sure your child has ample water, Gatorade or other sports drinks on hand.

Waivers:  It was decided that Wynantskill (Gardner Dickinson) is officially a Free Zone.  Players within this district can chose S. Troy, East Greenbush or Averill Park.  Please verify with CDPW that waivers are not required.

We are pleased to announce the Averill Park football golf outing will be held on August 10th at the Burden Lake Country Club. This event helps support our high school football program, so stay tuned for additional details regarding this event.

Zach Gobel, the AP high School varsity coach, will be conducting the annual coaches clinic in July 2013.  If you are interested in volunteering your time this football season or considering volunteering, this free of charge clinic will help provide guidance with on-the-field drills, skills training and proper tackling techniques.  In addition, this clinic helps provide synergy between our two programs and allows for a seamless transition to our young athletes as they move up to the high school program.
