~ Mission Statement ~
The mission of Averill Park Pop Warner is to enable our children to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, our programs promote and teach fundamental values, skills, and knowledge that children will use throughout their lives.
~ A Positive Experience for All ~
Averill Park Pop Warner has no tryouts and does not make roster cuts. All children participate under mandatory rules of play (www.popwarner.com) and on-field coaching is allowed for the younger age levels. Individual performance awards are given only for academic excellence, not for athletic ability.
~ Safe Playing Environment ~
Football players are matched by national age and weight levels. Cheerleaders are matched by national age levels. Strict mandatory equipment requirements are adhered to. All coaches and commissioners are required to attend a yearly clinic, and all volunteers are background checked.

Averill Park would like to welcome all of its new and returning athletes, Board Members, Coaches, Volunteers and Parents to our 2012 season. We are off to a good start this year and are looking forward to all this season has to bring.
Registration: Begins Thursday April 19th at Algonquin Middle School
· Child’s current headshot
· Copy of 2012 June Report Card (when available)
· Copy of Birth Certificate (for all new athletes)
· Current Physical Release form (Athletes cannot play without this form for football or cheer). This form can be printed off the Capital District Pop Warner website. www.cdpw.org
· If you have already registered and still owe paperwork, please bring paperwork with you to be turned in.
Practice for Football and Cheer:
· We will start practicing on August 6th at 6:00 pm at Butler Park.
· It’s HOT out: As you all know, the weather is hot so please make sure your child has ample water or Gatorade to drink.
· Football equipment will be handed out to players who have not received it yet.
· ***ALL tackle football players must have a full week of practice before they can start tackling drills. ***
Waivers: It was decided that Wynantskill (Gardner Dickinson) is officially a Free Zone. Players can chose S. Troy, East Greenbush or Averill Park. No waivers needed.? ?
Football Camp: July 23rd -26th @ Butler Park 6-8 pm Camp
