Effective the 2007 Baseball Season the Shetland Program will see TWO Changes. 1. The Shetland program will now be a Six (6) and UNDER program. 2. This change will also allow for a Shetland "4" Program. Age chart shows the legal 4 year old ages. Changes to rulebook for Shetland "4" Program. a. 8-Equipment A. Baseball to be specifically manufactured and designed in such a way to reduce injuries or the seriousness of injuries. B. Bats manufactured specifically for T-Ball play are recommended, but in no case should big barrel bats be used. b. 10-Pitching Rules: The ball shall be hit off a batting tee placed on home plate only. c. Coaches will be allowed to coach on the field of play. Coaches should not touch or bodily direct defense. 3. Players (4 years old) must select prior to the start of season whether to play Shetland 6 and UNDER or Shetland "4". 4. If registration is sufficient in the Shetland "4", and Tournament Play is desired a tournament play format will be developed. Johnny B. Goode |
