-There will now be 2 divisions- Large District(Auburn, Skaneateles, Jordan Elbridge and Invited District) and Small District (Port Byron, Weedsport, Union Springs, Southern Cayuga and Cato-Meridian). Each team in the division will play their divisional opponents at least once in the regular season. The top four(4) teams in each division will make the playoffs. Playoff eligibility will be based on established playoff seeding rules. Playoffs will consist of semifinals and finals play.

           - For the Small division only, in the event a team from a district is the playoff champion at the 6th and 7th grade level and has at least 50% of its team intact as an 8th grade squad, that team will compete in the Large division district and playoffs as an 8th grade team.

           - The Cayuga County Youth Organization Board of Directors reserves the right to place a team in either division for the sake of competitive play

Playoff seedings

Playoff seedings will be based on the following criteria:

                     1.  Overall record- this is based on the best winning percentage

                     2.  Tie Breakers:

                                      First- Head to head matchups

                                      Second-  Strength of schedule

Seedings and Standings position are based solely on the above parameters. Points scored and allowed are not used as this would create an environment where some teams might run up scores to acheive to largest spread, this is not what our league is about.

Final records are determined by scores reported. If scores are not reported we have to base outcomes on what information we have, so please try to get all scores reported

Postponed games

Your district heads will determine if games are to be postponed because of weather or any other circumstances. Check with your coach, district head or this website for postponed games. CCYO will not reschedule any postponed games and your teams final winning percentage will determine seedings for playoffs. Games may be rescheduled if agreed to by the district heads and coaches involved but they must find a location and time agreeable to all and must also provide certified referees for these games
