There is a growing controversy surrounding wood vs. aluminum bats. There has been a bill introduced to the
Illinois General Assembly to outlaw the use of aluminum bats for any baseball & softball games played in the state
of Illinois involving children under the age of 13. In an effort to make our environment safe and fun for the kids,
beginning in the 2008 season, ATYB will add wood bats to our Boys leagues as an alternative to aluminum bats.
Keep in mind, we do not plan to prohibit the use of aluminum bats for the Pinto or Mustang leagues, unless the bill
has been passed into law during the season.

It is being reported that Kevin Costner ("Crash" in the movie Bull Durham) announced Feb. 3, 2009 that he is a partner in a
new minor league team scheduled to begin play in Lake County in 2010. The team which has not yet been named will play its
home games in Zion.
