Attack VBC: All About Attack
All About Attack
Our History: Attack VBC draws players from all areas of the region. Attack VBC began in 1993 and merged that year with Angels Volleyball Club that had a previous 9 years of existence. The club expansion accommodates several age groups all over the metro area for girls.
Level of Competition: Attack encourages the development of players at a variety of levels. Our teams compete at both the Open and Club levels at local, regional, out of region, and national tournaments. All teams will compete at the highest level appropriate for that team and the coach will determine the level of play. Our lead teams typically do not take waivers.
Awards and Honors Achieved by Club: Lead teams have always finished in the top 20 teams of their age group in the region. Some of our teams have qualified for the Junior Olympics. Majority of players go on to play for their high school varsity teams. Many players from the club have gone on to play at various collegiate levels.
BUDGET/FEES: Player fees will vary by age groups and is primarily determined by each team's schedule of competition. Each player will make an initial payment of $250-$350 at the team registration meeting. Payment schedules to follow are determined by projected cost for each team. These are typically handled on a monthly basis. Previous total player costs have ranged from $350 to $600 for the younger age groups, depending on travel, and have gone to $900 or more for actively traveling teams for National Qualifiers and the Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships (JOVC). Teams have often used fundraising as an effective method for reducing player fees. The Club can offer fundraising ideas and opportunities; however, each team's parents must help to initiate these efforts and see them through. The player keeps all uniforms, bags, and sweatshirts purchased through the fees. Team fees also include: player and coaches' registration and background waiver checks, coaching IMPACT certification, coaching continued education costs, player uniform suite, tournament entry fees, practice gym rental, equipment, and club/coach administrative fees. Coaches are reimbursed for room and travel expenses for out of town tournaments, and receive a modest stipend for gas and food. Each team’s budgets are kept separate and do not go to support any other team in the club. If for any reason a team has a remaining balance in their account by end of season, it will be returned to the players.
